  1. thanks! I am not very good at that sort of thing and was surprised i got the link to work!! lol
  2. hi I have been asked to cross post this. i know that there are people on here for all over that do dog training. please look. http://www.freewebs.com/travellingtearaways/doyouknowthisdog.htm
  3. oh I am so sorry. poor little man! To Lucky's foster carers thank you so so much for being there for him.
  4. Hello! Sorry dont post much but we had Mattie staffie here for foster and would be willing to take Lucky on as a foster dog for TLC and get him back to health if possible. If there is anyone thinking about fostering an old oldie I would just like to say that yes, it can be heart breaking but the rewards are endless! We still remember all of Matties 'firsts'! The first time mattie came upstairs! the first time she went out for a short walk! well there are too many to list here! The joy and love on little Matties face when she realised that we would take care of her was something I will never forget! And Mattie now has a fab new home and new humans to do her bidding. So even the old oldies can bloom given the chance!
  5. Hi all, I have been ask to let as many people as possible know about this dog thanks for reading. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can everyone please circulate the following information to any lists they are on please? Male Akita - more than likely a Japanese Akita (I haven't seen pictures but visual description is quite clear regarding his amount of bone, spring of rib and length to height ratio). Ginger red and White Vet assumes his age to be 3-4 years Has signs of wear off a collar. He was picked up in the Mount Pleasant area of Swansea on Friday 8th May after following children home to the neighbourhood and sleeping outside this lady's gate, and he is currently being looked after by a lovely lady named "Cerys". She can be contacted on ( please pm me for phone number) He is friendly with strangers but does not welcome any dogs approaching him. Good on leash, but pulls when he sees other dogs and goes a little skitty. He has been good with all children he has met when walking with this lady, so may have been raised with them. He is very affectionate and endearing with everyone he meets. Can you please ask about to see if anyone is missing this dog as he appears to have been well loved in the past. Swansea is a notorious area for travellers dumping stolen dogs before boarding the ferries, so he could have come from any area. Cerys runs a dog minding business and has two pugs due to come in this weekend, if owners cannot be found she would like to find a good home for him ASAP!

  12. Ok not really! I have been away for a while due to ill health as some of you may remember. Well I am on the mend now and would like to reintroduce myself. My name is Ali and I live with my partner Viv and 2 sons (11yrs & 13yrs) . We have 2 dog bashing cats, 1 shy hamster and 2 dogs . Gabby a white sbt who is almost 2 and lady who is a small cross breed about 5yrs. Both are rescues. Last year and early this year we fostered for the oldies and we are missing it! We are in the midlands so who ever is in charge of that now could you please pm so that I can call you! We would like to foster on a part time bases ie anyone going on holiday and needs a place for their oldie for a week or 2 or even an over night or weekend. Some of you may have seen me lurking a lot!!! I have been keeping up as much as I can but have been unable to post because of brain fog!! I would read something think of something to say and by the time I was writing it I had forgotten what I was saying or it just didn’t ‘sound right’. Cant explain really. I have started an online business selling healthy chocolate. No I am not mad it is chocolate that is good for you. Can someone from fundraising contact me as I would like to give some to the oldies for prizes ect? Well thanks for reading! And I look forward to being more involved with you lot from now on!!! Love Ali
  13. thank you all for you kind words and 's I am trying to stay postive. I am going to make another app with gp to see if he can advise me. the internet is a scarey place when you are ill!! I am going to stop looking at stuff for a while until I know more from gp anyway.
  14. Hi, Just popped in for a cry! I have been ill for some time now and some of you may remember that I had Costochondritis (an inflammation of the cartilage that connects the inner end of each rib with the breastbone (sternum)). Well that was not nice and was painfull. Then I had Anaphylactic shock 3 times and ended up in hospital. Well I have been feeling pretty crap for about 6 mths and went to the doctor as all I seem to do is sleep. the slightest cold would put me in bed for days. Anyway the doc didd loads of test and the results came back last week. They are all fine which means that the doctor now thinks I have post viral fatigue syndrome and as far as i can tell it is almost the same as M.E. I cant fine any info on just post viral fatigue syndrome as it is all put under CFS/ME heading. I am on massive painkillers at the moment and i havent been able to leave the house for a week. The Doctor has given me 2 wks of work but i am not getting better. Because I am so ill we are unable to foster for the oldies club for a while. Sorry more woes. Chris my son slammed his hand in the door taking off his whole fingernail which now needs dressing every few days.I cant go with him. Our puppy (ok shes not really a puppy but 16mths) Gabby cut her paw 2 weeks ago and she kept knock off the scab and making it bleed. It is only about the size of my little finger nail so very small but was not healing so oh took her to the vets. the vet has said that it is a tumor and she has to go in next week for an op to remove it. well cry over! thanks for reading this just had to get it of me chest if you know what i mean!!!
  15. I think we all can take something from this. The Pastor's Ass The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won. The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and it won again. The local paper read: PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT. The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in another race. The next day, the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS. This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey. The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent. The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headlinethe next day: NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN. The bishop fainted. he informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for $10. The next day the paper read: NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10. This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild. The next day the headlines read: NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE. The bishop was buried the next day. The moral of the story is . . being concerned about public opinion can bring you much grief and misery . . even shorten your life. So be yourself and enjoy life. Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and you'll be a lot happier and live longer! Have a nice day!
