  1. You are so out of order doing that! Especially at this time of the night! Congratulations anyway - I think!
  2. Congratulations Spike, a lot of folks on here are relieved that you are going strong after some scary moments. Keep it up and here's to many more Happy Birthdays!
  3. I am sorry to hear you have been poorly. Hopefully you are now on the road to recovery! I am truly sorry to hear that you have lost your beloved Newfie. I had no idea that she was on any medication for heart problems. You were very brave and took a difficult decision at the right time, and did not allow her to suffer. Well done for doing so. I hope your other dog recovers well and isn't missing your Newfie too much.
  4. Wish I was there! I love Cornwall. I would have thought the bluebells had finished by now, everything always seems to come out earlier in Cornwall compared to the Midlands. Beautiful.
  5. Quote Yesterday left her exhausted for various reasons, among which you can count a cat with 8 kittens on the Freecycle site she moderates. ohmy.gif They are now sorted. I wonder if these are some kittens that had to be out by Saturday, there were orginally two females, one with 8 kittens, and another one with 4 kittens? Our co-ordinator did offer to take them in, but we understand the CPL Birmingham have kindly stepped in. They were from the South Birmingham area. I first heard of it from Purrs.
  6. Kazz stay with us, I have not been on here for a day or two, out with friends last night, and helping at a local event with RSPCA, CPL Cat Action Trust, and our Coventry Cat Group. I hope you change your mind and remain with us!
  7. I am afraid I have missed out on hearing about Rory's earlier days. But by the sound of it, he was in very good hands, and gave everyone a bit of a runaround! So sorry to hear about him only now. Run free Rory, and hugs to his best friends and owners.
  8. Three of us have been distributing leaflets around the Camp Hill area of Nuneaton for the last couple of days. I cannot remember how long we spent doing it yesterday, but we didn't get as wet as we did today. We walked for hours, and we must have been at it for about 4 or 5 hours, plus we kept stopping off at convenience type shops often next to garages, and a couple of pubs (not for a drink). We were trying to raise awareness of the forthcoming event this coming Friday. We have helped at them before, and it is depressing when you hear of the number of animals being bred from, or intending to be bred from, because the owners refuse neutering vouchers (for their dogs mostly, but also some cat owners still believe in "letting them have a first litter"! Don't get me started! Attention Pet owners - The RSPCA Coventry, Coventry Cats Protection, Cat Action Trust and Coventry Cat Group will be visiting the Camp Hill Education Sports And Social on Friday 22nd May 12pm - 7 pm, Cedar road Camp Hill, Nuneaton CV10 9DN Come along for general pet care advice. Free Cat and Dog microchipping (though we are asking for donatons as each chip costs £5 to buy) Reduced cost neutering vouchers available for Cats , Dogs and Rabbits For more info. contact RSPCA on 76336616 Sorry this is not strictly a frrecycle and I am abusing my postion as pet moderator. However, this is the only event we can afford to do this year so we need to reach as many people as possible. Please tell you friends or cross post to other local sites. I am stealing myself to go a final walk in the rain with our 3, and then flopping into my bed!
  9. I am so sorry, and wish her a peaceful journey. Hugs to her family, and bless you for knowing when to help her on her way.
  10. Quietly thinking of you all today especially.
  11. Maria none of us can ever contemplate what you and your family are suffering at the moment. All we can say is take each hour as it comes, take good care of you and yours, nobody would expect you to do any different to that. We are here for you whenever you need to have a chat or one of these. Our heartfelt wishes for a good celebration of your son's life when the time comes.
  12. I have just taken a fledgeling robin to a wildlife roadshow (happens to be where they are at the moment), so they can take care of his injuries better than I can here. We tried to feed him some egg food softened with some boiled water and some PolyAid added to it, but he didn't want to know. I hope that he feels better soon, I suppose he is in shock, and suddenly separated from his parents, with a cut under his wing, not forgetting his meeting with my cat, he is not going to be a happy chappie! Luckily he has a bird there already, who is cheeping loudly to be fed. So I guess that is as near as you can get to an Easter chick. I wish Charlie my 2nd hand Turkish Van hadn't brought me that gift though! My son found it lying on the utility room floor, he got quite a surprise when he realised it was still alive! Warwickshire Wildlife are now going to be taking care of him, so I hope he does them proud.
  13. Poor Maria and family. I am sure none of us can contemplate how the family is feeling. So very sad, words fail me. Much love is sent from all your fellow Fugees. :GroupHug: :GroupHug: :GroupHug: :GroupHug:

It is so hard, you want to help them so badly, and would do anything if it helped. It is also hard when you have shared good and bad times in your life with them. When I lost my cat (aged 20 years), he had been there when all 6 of the children were small, and the house didn't seem the same without him. I hope the medication will help him soon.
  15. Our house and lane (obviously) is on there too, my son in law is in his truck. I think his face is blurred out too, and a funny thing has happened to one of his truck wheels, and that too looks to be at a very strange angle. We actually saw the vehicle going past our house, the weird thing is that I thought I was on the door step at the time, but I am not there!
  16. You can tell his brain has been working overtime, he looks shattered, but pleased with himself! Congratulations to you both. Ishkha is due to try to take hers next month!
  17. You did your very best for a much loved dog. Enjoy your time at the bridge until you all meet again.
  18. That is so lovely, what happy, good looking doglets.
  19. Many congratulations to Mum and Nan Kazz! She looks tired but content with life. Hope you can catch up on some sleep.
  20. We had snow Tuesday and the dogs and children went sledging videos here:- http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/ultraslowflier/Sledging2009#
  21. I am sure this has been covered before, but what medical items that our vets over here may well discard, be useful over there? Thanks.
  22. Excellent news indeed, and that smile just says it all really!
  23. So sad to hear of your loss of a wonderful dog. But congratulations on your new arrival, I hope that the new one will help you cope with losing your special friend. I am confident she will though.
