  1. political correctness has gone mad! Our local member of parliment has been sacked cos he pointed out that people were called black b**t*rds in the army. having been a colnel for many years, he probably has a good understanding of how the army works. he did also say that like school children all 'differences' are used to degrade the soldiers. ginger hair, freckles etc. now i know people are gonna point out that a freckle face isnt the same as being punished for your colour, and thats why i'm finally gonna point out, that he was just saying how it is in the army. he didnt say he agreed with it or that it was his opinion. thats just what happened. and he was fired. your no longer allowed to point out that you know of racism without being tarred with the same brush. the world has gone crazy. well actually no, its prob just the brits!

    Scurfy Skin

you could maybe try some t-gel. its for itchy flakey scalps on humans, contains ingrediants to cool and take away any itching there may be.
  3. i was quite disappointed by the chosen winner. very predictable i thought. liked the 'take it all in my stride' approach of the blood hound. what do you think?
  4. Hope the Blood Hound can win cos i think he's full of character!

    Walk Pics

if i could just find a man with such a healthy shinny coat..... oh hum and a tongue like that
  6. I think its very easy for a parent to believe shes giving her child the best when really they're not. i'm not talking bout the obvious junk foods, i'm talking bout carbohydrates that turn to sugar such as bread, potatoes and pasta. all things you believe to be good for you child, but in actual fact slow motabolism down in a less than active child. obviously the times in which hes fed do need to be considered. bananas shouldnt be given just before bed, but it is still a fruit!

  8. if shes food orientated but not really toy orientated when shes out (cos of the easy distraction), buy her a toy that has treats inside. keep it indoors for a while so she learns what its for, but then try using that outside. she probably wont bring it back, but you may have more success with her chasing it! just an idea...
  9. dont see why you cant try the Victoria Stillwell way Raiye? when shes looking at you but barking, keep a treat in your hand then do the flat line waving thing when she goes quiet and give her the treat. Hopefully Mitzi will learn that the signal means silence and she'll wait for the treat or good girl flashes. really dont know what you can do when shes outside tho! shes in a world of her own then!!!

    Coccidia

i've come across coccidia. i actually heard it was life threatening in small or young pets? its a parasite which attacks the small intestine and reproduces quite quickly. dogs can pick it up from pratically anywhere by lickin their own coats. there is no treatment, but my friend was advised to do all she could to keep the dog's immune system working with vitamin supplements and salts in water. the dog fought through it and was fine. how is your little chappy now?

    Muscle Rub

Does anyone know of a deep heat for dogs? My Gypsy doesnt realise shes getting on in years and goes after a ball as if she were still a pup. She manages to keep up, but boy does she suffer for it later! The muscles on the inside of her back legs right near her tail become as hard as rocks and she finds it hard to walk or get comfortable. I gave her a hot shower down once with a small massage and that seemed to help, but i cant bath her everytime she goes for a walk, so i would really like to find something like our version of deep heat to massage in. i'm sure our deep heat would be too strong to use and nasty if she licked it off! Any ideas anyone please?
  12. with both articles being dated 2005, has anything changed in the law now to prevent such a hypothetical situation becomeing reality? its proven that people's shock and acceptance of situations such as this become more relaxed over time. would be interesting to know if and how opinions have altered over 2 years.....
  13. imho i wonder if theres more to it than just what we see.... if the mother wasnt taught food values and how to cook herself, how can we suddenly expect that of her now? it wasnt til recently that we really started to take notice of salts and fats sneakily added to processed foods (God bless Jamie Oliver!) someone said that all his food must have been cooked by his mum, well i'm sure she is more than responsible for the junk food outside of meals he has been allowed, but he would've also been having meals at school. if they're cooked, arent they partly responsible? if he had packed lunch, then biscuits, choc etc arent allowed! i also think it points to the lack of exercise children have at home and in school. my daughter just turned 9 and she's not allowed to run in the play ground!! its a world gone mad tho for sure!
  14. i'm a britany fan too (although not that big!), but i think your looking at her with rose tinted glasses! she didnt get dumped, she dumped him and on blooming national t.v! she was known for partying way before her relationship with Kevin and its well known exactly how she treated Justin! shes a girl used to getting what she wants, for whatever reason, and shes just throwing a public tantrum for not getting it! if britany were male, i'm sure our responses would have been completely different! i mean i dont see a 'bless poor Robbie Williams' thread! lol
  15. i just wondered if there was an update on what happened with your pups? any signs of possible traits?
  16. i think school uniforms are a good idea for many different reasons, but thats just a little OTT! how can the loss of a tie be more important than the lessons learnt whilst returning home to replace it? i also find it ironic how in a world where some of the most sexually bizarre things are aired on tv, hair colour can be classed as a potential for class disruption! its about keeping children in 'reigns' as far as i'm concerned, a proposperous attempt for schools to socially control children and their families. if a .parent kept the child off school for what ever reason, they would find themselves up before a court judge.
  17. on GMTV the other morning they reported that a new technique used by lawyers in america is to take hair samples which they can test for drug abuse. they said that it could be possible that she'd got rid of it for that reason....? it also said that the salon had actually refused to cut her hair so she grabbed their clippers and did it herself then threatening to sue them for not doing it! last i heard, her hair was on sale on ebay!!! she has also stopped talking on her website which she used to make sure she did daily. not sure if this is a cry for help. looks more to me like someone who really has no idea where to go cos shes on the verge of losing everything. i dont think she cares about publicity at the moment or the consequences of her actions. shes got so many people telling her what they think she should do and what people expect of her that shes just had enough! it is a pity bout the children tho, but without sounding harsh, who doesnt sometimes wish they could have a break and not worry bout theirs?
  18. I have decided to put this thread in conto as i know there will be alot of varied ideas and feelings. I also do not want people mixing this up with the serious bsl protest dates etc. basically I have to design a protest blue print. I've chosen the Deed not Breed for a number of reasons including raising awareness (I will present these ideas to a group of 600 students) and personal feeling as i have dogs that would be affected by the proposed laws. so now i'm asking your help. If there were no law restrictions like the Breed Not Deed group are facing now, what would be your way of highlighing and protesting against possible new legislation? how would you protect your family of pets? what lengths would you go to? how do you spread the awareness of the few to the masses and then on to make government take notice and then act in our defense? i would like all ideas and emotional feelings, but without the use of violence please. i already plan to show the youtube films of peoplle wearing electro control collars. At this point i will stress that no names of forum members or the forum name will be used in anyway. it is completely and only for the use of ideas. i would appreciate if no one opposes anyone else ideas, as it is purely hyperthetical and some people feel more strongly than others. i would also appreciate some realistic answers. i'm sure all of us would like to kick Tony Blair around for a while and see how well he responds to people, but unfortunately i cant get him to take part! thanks for reading and i look forward to your colourful ideas. cass
  19. please excuse my ignorance to this sparkle, but what are you asking for ideas on? the advertising of dogs for sale? lots of magazines do that! the sale of the dog? lots of dogs are for sale in the same way? the same is said for dogs for sale to be bread from and raced. i dont want this post to be negative, i'm just confussed.
  20. what a gorgeous picture! is it ok to add our own sleepers to this? hope so, here's my little chap with my daughter!
  21. having a problem with Boicy's snapping for food, i made him a 'mustard cream' hoping to teach him to sniff before eating. to my horror, he seperated the biscuit parts and just licked away the mustard! he still grabs at any food too!
  22. in my opinion, when people form a view of someone, it takes a minor miracle to change their mind. i can use two examples for this. one famous, the other not. non famous first! an old friend of mine received money and shot someone to death just a couple of years ago. even with the evidence of this infront of me, i find it hard to believe that this person could've been capable of such a thing. i find it difficult to think badly of him and pray there were circumstances i couldnt ever understand that made him do it. the famous person is Michael Jackson. scandals have followed him everywhere, and even facing court, his loyal fans (as many of them famous too) stood by his side, refusing to think badly of him. my point is this, by showing or reminding the world of all this man's wrong doings, we will not remove those who love him or think highly of him. therefor, the planned event would stil go ahead. maybe more elaborately so, just to prove their loyalty. and compassion will be undoubtably higher because of his current health. i completely agree with people facing consequences for their actions, no matter how long a time has passed. but what punishment could he receive that wouldnt just cost the tax payer?
