  1. I was going to say yes, but Cycas's post has made me unsure . I do eat meat as long as it's free range as I care about farm animal welfare, however the slaughtering process could be improved upon, for instance the re-opening of local slaughter houses so animals didn't have to travel so far and an end to the "piece-meal" pay system which can result in slaughter men not taking as much care as they could be. I imagine though that even if plasti-meat takes off there will still be small specialist farmers producing ethically reared animals for the luxury market.
  2. Did she !!!!!! ?..........what a mank Isn't it amazing how many celebs are scared of rats, I'd be rounding them all up and keeping them ....and the reptiles.
  3. 25% off on themed t-shirts at Dogs N Dubs, some brilliant dog t's and horse ones and free postage up till the 10th of Dec ( thanks to Bekki for the link on FB )
  4. I think that might be your hormones No more snow here and I don't think it's as cold as it was yesterday
  5. I'm sorry Jack still has issues, I thought he'd improved . I'm in agreement with Mrs Mop, his hair trigger temperament could suggest something medical being the cause, although saying that, a friend recently had a similar situation with her GSD bitch Sylvie, she had a clean bill of health, so they got in a behaviourist who said Sylv was trying to be top bitch but her owners weren't allowing her to be, so she was having to crank up the aggression to her two house mates ( male Springers ), she followed his advice to support Sylve in being top dog and the problem is nearly gone. I could say that if she'd followed the advice her friend gave her she could have saved herself £200, since it was exactly the same advice the behaviourist gave her, but that would just be being petty
  6. Umbro shell suit, Burberry cap wearing dick heads .
  7. Awww, wee thing, R I P Pooh It was so cold and frosty here this morning that I didn't do my usual 7 am hill walk, one hill is freezing on even a mild morning as it's so exposed and the other hill is along an exposed twisty one track road, yesterday morning I had to steer my car into the grass verge to get it to stop along that road, sure as hell wasn't doing that again . So we went round the stubble field instead.....Ben is not a happy bunny .
  8. We've had a light dusting over night in Fife ( I'm guessing that's comfortably far away from where you are ) but jeez is it cold
  9. Yer back ! Awww , glad she's making progress Baltic here and I think I'm getting a cold ......sorry if I've snotted on anyone . Spud lost his collar in the field, cost me £40 that did
  10. Ouch, nothing worse than toothache I feel the same about some books, I try and tail them out for as long as possible. Can you try a steam inhalation

That site looks quite promising, I've signed up, bet their antlers will be three times the price you can buy from stick makers though
  13. What to watch...The Zoo or Kirsty's Homemade Home...decisions decisions.
  14. I've just watched my first episode of I'm a Celeb, I'd just like to apologise on behalf of Scotland for the odious horrid creature that is Gillian Naeteeth ....We're sorry, if we'd known she'd have been hog tied and left in the middle of Niddrie for the Ned's to pick at her bones.
  15. Thats Gillian, she used to have a program on the telly where she got people to put their jobbies in a tupperware box and she would give the jobbie a wee poke and a sniff and tell them to change their diet I wasn't going to watch it but all the furore over Gillian has peaked my interest, she seems a most detestable human being, I'll be watching it just so I can dislike her more than I already do
  16. Oooo, have you got C.O.D Black Op's and is it any good ? so far the only reviews I've had have been from hormonal teenage boys and they have carp taste so I ain't trusting their judgement. I have been making banoffee cheesecake today, I'm supposed to make it for Christmas dinner so I thought I'd better do a trial run and I'm glad I did as the recipe says to leave it to cool in the oven, but thats just burnt it a wee bit so I won't be doing that again. I forgot to mention that Spud's results for his last lot of lumps came through and they were all benign I've been asked if I want a Husky puppy, yes would be my answer but I think Daisy would have something to say on the matter, perhaps I could swap
  17. He's a bit of a hunk isn't he
  18. Had a lovely time at the wedding yesterday, especially since I met the very very handsome Adam who I last met when he was four years old, he's now 28 and very fancy-able, and he loves dogs , I did feel like a dirty old lady fancying him . I also have a handy tip, Champaign, wine and whiskey are not a good mix Why the f*** is Wagner still in the X Factor ?, I sometimes despair of the British public.
  19. I am sorry your going through this , and having to wait so long to find out won't be helping matters given that stress can be a major factor if you do have IBS. Things that I've found to be a help are Yakult which my consultant suggested, and it does help a bit and ginger tablets, you might also want to try charcoal biscuits which you can get in Holland and Barrett ( they taste just like Rich Tea's ). Although I don't have IBS ( I have Crohn's ) I have found eating a low residue diet is essential , so you could be right with the Special K, try cutting out as much fibre as you can for a few days and see if there's an improvement. The symptoms you've described could be IBS, but I've never come across anyone who has that much swelling of the stomach, so who knows, perhaps there's more than one thing going on .
  20. I have a posh wedding to go to tomorrow, hence the spray tan which came out really well, I've been practising make up all day, I so seldom wear it these days that I had to remind myself what to do My friends daughter Sally and her BF ( Just ) Jamie are coming up to stay tomorrow to look after the dogs for the wedding, Spud and Daisy will be fine with them, they've known Sally all their lives, but I think Ben just might try it on with them, he does like to see how much he can get away with, I fully expect to come home and discover Ben's convinced them that he is actually fed a diet of macaroni cheese and flap jacks
  21. A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY owl, hope you've had a smashing day
  22. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black I'll have you know missus that olives whiskey and mussels are all food of the gods ....but not necessarily all at the same time, cos' that would be bouwf I need to add scrambled egg to my list Bean curd, I had a bit of that at a posh chinese place in London and I really thought I was going to hurl, the texture of it was revolting
  23. I'm now all tanned up, well sort of, I got the lightest one I could and I must say, it looks brilliant, trouble is I can't go any where near water for 24h, oh deary me, Ed will just have to do the dishes and take the dogs out if it's rainy
  24. Hope the EBT gets a good rescue place and makes a quick recovery I'm getting a fake tan spray thing at 3.30 !!, wonder if they really do have a Cuprinol colour chart to pick your tan from
