Ian
Did anyone see “This Morning†today? I'm told that Chris Tarrant was promoting his new show, "The Door", where 6 contestants have to face challenges. That this interview is now on their web site: http://www.itv.com/lifestyle/thismor.../christarrant/ The show will air tomorrow on ITV at 9pm and in it there are Gsd's caged separately and the contestants have to crawl past them with raw meat attached to themselves, winding up these "savage" dogs. I can't seem to download the required version 10 player to watch this clip myself but it doesn't sound like my idea of entertainment If you watch this and agree please complain to ITV http://www.itv.com/contactus/wheretofindus/default.html & Ofcom https://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/pr...?itemid=286480
BillyMalc
They're caged - what's the challenge in that!!
Ian
Probably not much but more significantly, at a time when there is a consultation on dogs in progress, it provides another image in peoples minds (& what they'd do if not caged) of "savage dogs" from the media - the same people who bleat on about dangerous dogs & asbo's for dogs, publish articles on idiot owners without considering the vastly superior numbers of responsible dog owners etc
Sarah B
Have complained to both Ofcom and ITV. What a bloody stupid stunt.
Laura_E
I saw the clip and thought it was disgusting, didn't watch the show though. Chris Tarrant is an arrogant idiot and Amanda Holden has no discernible talent what-so-ever, so they seem well suited to this programme. ITV seem to find the mistreatment of animals a real source of entertainment- just look at I'm A Celebrity......
Ian
The show itself hasn't been on yet (it's tonight & then I think tomorrow night), just the promotional clips. As for the I'm a Celebrity link both shows (and Hell's Kitchen) are all made by the same team. "The Door was commissioned by Elaine Bedell, Director of Entertainment & Comedy at ITV and Layla Smith, Controller of Entertainment at ITV. It was created by Natalka Znak, Controller of Factual Entertainment, Richard Cowles, Head of Factual Entertainment and Beth Hart, Deputy Head of Factual Entertainment at ITV STUDIOS (UK), who are the team behind the worldwide television successes I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Hell’s Kitchen. " http://www.itv.com/presscentre/pressreleases/programmepressreleases/thedoor/default.html Chris Tarrant, whilst happy to take the cheque, even considers his own show "deeply unpleasant" apparently. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a212142/tarrant-the-door-was-so-unpleasant.html If anybody hasn't been able to watch the ITV player clip due to software and want's to know "what the fuss is about" it's now available on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f18uIohIWc
eve
My OH complained to ITV, the show's suppliers and several newspapers. He had a response from two of the suppliers saying they hadn't realised the content of the show and would express their concerns to ITV. No response from ITV or any newspaper. ITV don't care - it's all ratings to them. I won't be watching
