Laurel n Hardy
agreed, what a guy. I don't have facebook but could one of those campaigns of supports be started on there for him, and if it comes from the animal rescue community it might just help a lot Just a thought
Pendlewitch
Good lord, that's insane! It's not as if he did something silly like jumping into the lake, he used a canoe!! That's called initiative in my book! There has to be some way of making our feeling known to the eejits who are hauling him over the coals. BillyMalc
Well done that man!! "Health & Safety" regulations will kill someone one day - if they haven't already done so! - rather than someone using their common sense and initiative. Maybe all the do-gooders and pen pushers should be given new jobs cleaning up rubbish rather than sitting on their @rses and wagging their fingers
suzeanna
Sadly, they already have! did you read a while ago, a man who fell down a bank into a ditch and ended up face down in eighteen inches of water? the "professionals" who were summoned stood around waiting for a special unit to turn up, by which time he had drowned. Their Health and Safety regulations banned them from attempting to help him.
murtle
I did like the comment by someone on the article that said the point of rescuers was to work out the best possible cause of action to resolve the situation. They are there to put their lives on the line to rescue/save otherwise why are they there? Yes they need to take precautions, yes many things could have happened, one of the firemen could have slipped down the bank where they were standing and fallen in. Then what?
