Playful Pip & Terrific Titch - Small Lab X Girls

These two best friends are Titch & Pip, Labrador crosses who are in an Oldies Club foster home in Newcastle. Pip is about 7 and Titch is about 11.

These two lovely girls have settled really well in their foster home and are happy playing around with each other, a game of fetch being their favourite thing. They are looking for a loving family home as they do love children and a place where there is room for Pip to release her boundless energy and for Titch to have a little space to herself when she wants to relax, would be ideal.

A home with children over about 9 would probably be best as Pip could be a little boisterous with very young ones. They are both sociable with other dogs and have not really taken much notice of cats when out walking.

Both Titch and Pip are fine in the car, although Titch does need a little help getting in and out. They love walks and both are good off the lead with good recall. Pip is so excited to be out that she does pull on the lead but her foster carers are working on this. Both dogs are happy to be left for up to 4 hours with no problem at all.

Health wise, Titch is getting on in years and has a heart murmur which she is on medication for. She is a little stiff like lots of Oldies and finds stairs a bit tiresome.

This is what their foster carer has to say about them:-

“The are both really sweet dogs and I wish we were in a position to give them a permanent home. If we were, I would not hesitate to adopt them permanently. When they are adopted we will miss them so much as they are both great little characters.â€

Praise indeed - that sums up Titch and Pip perfectly.

Since coming into Oldies Club care, the girls have been vet checked and they are both neutered, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated.

After some discussion with their foster carers we would consider rehoming Titch and Pip separately to the right homes.

Although they get on well together they have very different needs - Pip is only 7 and is still quite lively and playful and loves a good walk, while Titch at 11 is much slower and likes a quiet life and a slow potter around.

They are both just as happy to interact with the other dog in their foster home as with each other, so we feel would settle fine with another friendly dog for company - though of course a home for the pair of them would be wonderful!

They are both lovely natured girls, their foster carers haven't a bad word to say about them!

I'm extremely sad to say that Titch, the older of the two girls, has been very unwell for the last few days. The vet found a large tumour in her stomach, it was inoperable and she was in great discomfort, so the decision was taken to let her go and she was pts this morning :mecry: :mecry:

Huge hugs to her foster mum, who has been wonderful with her right to the end :GroupHug: :GroupHug:

Pip is still looking for a home, and would love somewhere with another dog for company.
