After frightening my neighbours and colleagues with my glow-in-the-dark body this week, I finally gave in. Dove fake tan stuff is on a BOGOF in Sainsburys at the mo. I have the light body one and the light facial one. I will report back.

Ook that'll take ages, whop the dark one on the first day - much quicker and no tango in sight

I'm not keen on the Dove one - nivea is ok for me, just done mine have a bit of colour so hopefully the streaks will blend - can't bear cornbeef legs in summer

The sally hanson airbrush legs is great for an emergency if you have to get them out but weren't expecting to in the summer!...does rub off on the sheets & sprays your floor a nice golden glow too - but does wash off the sheets & if you do it on the patio (if you have a private garden that is ) or some paper it doesn't matter.

Still pale, but now have marks from the t-shirt I was wearing yesterday when I was in the sun.

To be honest, this trying to get some colour malarky is all getting a bit stressful. I was on the phone to Sarah_H earlier who told me to get a Fake Bake  She did point out that if I carry on just doing the self tanning stuff I will end up with tanned arms and shoulders and a white back still

The nivea is working well - well sorta - ish - kinda- if you pretend not to notice one legs slightly more brown than the other - and theres a tide mark - and where I crossed my legs at the ankles the back of one and the front of the other are ummm streaked   but other than that it's great

I'm a bit of a fake tan anorak....

I like the Johnsons one in the yellow bottle, it has a better colour on me than the Dove one. I start with the dark one though then continuie with the light one.... however I recommended it to a friend and her legs lookedl ike they belonged to an extra from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The biggest problem is I can't do my back, therefore I have a need to FakeBake via spray tan for any social gathering. However when I did a booth I looked like an Umpa-lumpa so never again. I prefer it when you stand and get sprayed by hand it comes out alot more even. I also usually opt for a lighter fakebake tan to aoid that tangoe'd effect.

Theres a good salon in Tetbury, Wendbert. On the road to Cirencester on the left. Lady there is lovely and very good. She used to do my spray tans for me.

I need to find somewhere here to do esp with a ball looming on the horizon!

Not read this thread through so apologies if I'm repeating things that others have posted.

My ex-MIL suffered (and survived) malignant melanoma and insists on sending me every self-tan product on the market to prevent me from sunbathing.

She's wealthy so I've road tested everything from Lancaster to La Prairie. They all smell bad but of the bunch, I'd say that on balance Boot's No.7 (wear off formula and inexpensive) is about the least offensive in terms of whiff. It gives a natural looking glow and doesn't smell too bad in the scheme of things. Lancôme and Clarins are about the stinkiest in my experience.

I haven't found one yet, no matter what claims are made or how careful you are, that doesn't rub off on bed sheets or clothes.

Below is an example of (me wearing) Boots No.7 bottle tan and I think it looks pretty natural.
