DanishPastry
Stupid question time, what ingredient in wine would be non-vegetarian? edited for bad spelling Edited December 12, 2007 by DanishPastry
Peachy
It's to do with the filtering process at the end of the wine making, to clear the debris. Gelatine can be used, as can a substance derived from the swim bladder of fish.

Happylittlegreensquirrel
talking to my wine expert it appears that the filtering process that makes some wine not suitable for vegetarians is not commonly used any more you can email via the site if you need clarification on any products

Happylittlegreensquirrel
Thanks Sam I know a lot of wines (in general) are labelled as veggie now, which is great. Tom knows a lot about Wine and could help you , he also said a lot of the wines there are basically organic but not labeled as organic as the producers are small ones and it costs a bit to get certified as organic its likely that a lot of the wines if not all are veggie friendly but email if you need to check , most of the wine comes from small vineyards so the suppliers he deals with will know how they are made
