  1. Any one know if there is one ? I have no idea of the suitability of the person looking to adopt but as she has no internet access and I’ve been asked the question I’ve been googleing but not come up with much. She is in the Lincolnshire area and apparently is happy to travel. Thank you
  2. At last I have found something I’m good at - FAILER Molly and Hobo. Molly was OH fault. Stupid Brian Berni Being the patient person i am I don’t think its ever decided immediately it’s more that no one shows them any interest in offering them a home in the first 24 hours of them being here so obviously their isn’t going to be any interest EVER so save everyone the work ,tear up the foster contract and sign the adoption one.
  3. Really OMG for such places to exist at any time doesn’t bare thinking about but early 90’s.
  4. Sorry again but really off the subject now but not that I want to get into religion but my step daughters have been here this week, 10 and 14. Their mother is Catholic when it suits and the girls go to catholic schools. The other night the eldest came down to me and wanted a girlie chat or should I say tampax talk. Her biggest concern is for her hyman (sp) splitting/breaking or what ever the correct term is. She has never seen a tampax only boxes on the shelf in the supermarket. She is a very intelligent girl but very naive, I suppose because of her upbringing. I think we all know what she has been told at school about birth control, if it has ever been mentioned. We sat chatting for some time about all different things, she had a lot of questions. Is it not better that she is well informed in the hope that the is never a need for an abortion or adoption rather than “nuns†teaching them to fear their bodies and in 2008 sex before marriage is a sin. Not that I am of course saying she is or should be having sex but unfortunately girls of her age are and if she decides she’s ready she should have all the facts. The above post - child born in the 60’s. I was astounded by the “Magdalene sisters.†(sp?) and if I remember correctly the last laundry’s were closed in the early 70’s
  5. My dad was "given up" at 6 months. He was never adopted, left the boys home at 18 years and went straight into the army for 2 reasons I suppose, most importantly he had no where else to go and maybe after so many years of a strict regimental upbringing it seemed the natural thing to do. He will be 68 this year. He has never known the reason behind why he was given up and as far as he knows his "parents" have never tried to find him. He never talks about his past. I am the only child, I know he loves me more than life it's self but has never shown me emotionally, if that makes sense, I don't think he knows how to. My dad has made a good life for himself worked hard always provided well for me and my mum and still does, daddy's little girl and I'm 36. He has never used his upbringing as a reason to break the law or take drugs. Sorry I watch to much Jeremy Kyle. But I do believe he has been affected deeply and I can't really put my finger on it to explain why. I have never wanted children and thankfully never been in a position to have to make a decision regarding a pregnancy, but I do know I would not have been able to give a child up for adoption because of my dad and with him being such a private person I would never know how that would have affected him. Equally if I had needed to make a choice regarding abortion I would never have told him. I don't know difficult to explain but nobody wanted him and then nobody wanted his grandchild, surely that would hurt. Edited to say - over the years I have often wondered if I should have wanted/had children for my dad. He would be the best grand dad in the world. But of course that isn’t a good reason to have a child. But my mum did. She wouldn’t have had me if it wasn’t for my dad wanting what my mum has always said “something of his ownâ€. sorry off the subject maybe that’s another thread “ is it right to have a child because a person you love dearly wants oneâ€.
  6. Had a tampax talk with my 14 year old step daughter, now wishing I had paid more attention in human bio as to the correct names of certain parts of the body. all i wanted was to be left alone watching grand designs.
  7. Aww great news about Anam/ Dan, I’ll pass on the message
  8. No I didn’t watch send in the dogs last night. After seeing, I think the first one which sparked a little debate in doggy chat I will not watch any more. In my humble opinion it is not doing anything to help the breed only over dramatising certain situations as again in my opinion police documentaries often do. Such a shame ITV at prime time don’t make a documentary filmed at Sarah’s with Raymond, Nipper, Bogey and the rest playing with Nate or sleeping on her bed. But I suppose that doesn’t do anything for the ratings. Like you say no snarling teeth. As we all know that’s what these programs and gutter press like to portray I don’t know if its me being over sensitive or that I’m just a stroppy mare and looking for a row but only yesterday a shell engineer turned up to mend my boiler and seemed to make it his business to walk all around my house only to end up at the back of my house trying to find my back door with the large attached dog run to greeted my Akita and American Bull dog and some of the others. For a start he had no business opening my gate at the end of the drive as it clearly states “dogs running freeâ€, and a bell on the gate post rings in the house, none of them are ever loose on my property because of such idiots, and the sign is only their as a security measure - hubby used to work away Monday to Friday, but that’s my little secret.. He went on to tell me how he didn’t like my dogs how they can’t be trusted and that you can’t read them. I wont print my reply. And that he is a GSD man. Being a “GSD man†I would have hoped for a little more empathy, growing up I lived on a lane with a couple of scrap yards, they were “guarded†by GSD’s these poor dogs spent their lives on chains living amongst scrap. As a young child I was always told to stay away from them as they were “dangerous guard dogs and must never be touched or trustedâ€. Earlier on in the morning I had a “door fitter†call to quote me on a back door as “mad mol†(staff x) had thrown her new kong toy and smashed one of the panels of glass. Again my dogs were outside. He saw my dogs through the porch window and went on to tell me “how vicious they lookedâ€, erm I see his point stupid Brian (am bull) looking up at him wagging his whole body, head included. I went to bed quite early last night, hubby asked me what was the matter as I looked agitated - is there any wonder. Sorry slightly off the subject but I’m stressed anyway as the step children are here for the week and I need a rant then to have 2 idiots in one day commenting on my dogs well……..
  9. Sarah is quite disappointed as the reporter took loads of photographs but didn’t print any of them. Not the best picture but the most recent I have. Raymond
  10. It seems that a mistake may have been made regarding Rubens age and that he is closer to 5 years old. This week I have had the opportunity to test him with children 14 years and 10 years, he has been a absolute star so gentle and controlled he just seems to know to be careful around them. Poor Ruben no one has ever given him a second glance , he’s never had a home of his own and he has so much love to give. Still fostered in North Wales if anyone thinks they can offer him a forever home please contact [email protected] for more details.
  11. How dare you missus. The only crime my Sly can hold his paws up to is not teaching these b*** dy FIRESIDE dogs respect.
  12. Oh just had a thought Ruben is a foster dog so I’m changing my story no way was he responsible for the sofa bed,
  13. "ALLEGED" now true I don't have concrete evidence but if I was a betting woman my money would be on : Him These two And her And as for the sofa bed most defiantly him, laying amongst the foam with the evidence sticking out of him mouth.
  14. Now this isn’t an unusual scene, stupidly assuming because the dogs aren’t around and all is quite that all is well, happily snoozing in their room. This picture doesn’t show the true devastation - half chewed curtain tie back and stripped wall paper Ruben and Berni have their own room too, but their older and more sensible so they don’t need to be crated - look what I opened the door on this morning - this was my sofa bed. It’s a good job my mum is good at needle work or more to the point mending
  15. WELL DONE on two counts firstly what you have done for Puisin, and secondly -you have succeeded at fostering, shaky ground there for a while but who am I to talk. Good luck Puisin in your new home.
