I spent the last week practising with Banner for her next agility competition, what I hadn't noticed was that she had gone up a level and I was doing the wrong course! She has really gone up too quickly, there is a vast difference between starter and first level, just proves how clever she is though. We will have to work hard now to get sorted by the closing date, Banner can do it because she is awesome and brilliant. Took Lilli for a walk round the yard and lost Millie in the mirror somewhere, fortunately she was in the stable when we got back as Lilli was getting a bit upset! Clare Posted March 19, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 19, 2013 Yes Loki is moulting thankfully he is mostly clipped so shouldn't be too bad, am hoping he knows something I don't about the weather Thanks for asking Gooster He wasn't the dog for us, it ended up a bit of a bizarre situation but the result was we felt he was just too timid of everything and that he would probably be better in a home with a confident dog. We are off tomorrow to look at a poopie Is anyone else really struggling with motivation at the moment? I don't think Loki has ever so many days off than he has last couple of weeks, I have just withdrawn from Munstead Horse Trials on Saturday as just not feeling it. Not sure if its just the horrible weather or because am giving up competing for a few months with new arrival hopefully coming soon horses will definately be takinga back seat for a bit and I like to have targets so maybe thats not helping either. gooster Posted March 19, 2013 Report Share Posted March 19, 2013 I am struggling as well - one of the girls on my yard is going to be riding Blue once a week, as her horse is only a baby, so she wanted a horse to ride. Pendlewitch Posted March 20, 2013 Report Share Posted March 20, 2013 I think lots of people are lacking motivation, the winter has gone on far too long and the week (ish) of almost spring weather had most of us fooled and thinking we were past the worst, We have snow forcast for Thursday night, Saturday and Sunday, I HATE snow, half an inch round here and we grind to a halt because we are incapable of dealing with it as we are just not used to it. Lilli is casting hair out in clouds, all the rest are clipped so not much going on with them. Lilli did her first session in the arena today and was shockingly awful, bucking and kicking and crocodile snaps! I use Richard Maxwell techniques and did get a bit out of her in the end, will have to find an alternative to backing up though as she can't. The little monkey has a serious temper, what a tantrum! gooster Posted March 21, 2013 Report Share Posted March 21, 2013 Am just going to have a small rant here. Not sure if I am being unreasonable, but am sure you guys can reassure me... Bernie had her first lesson on Blue today. I got to the yard, groomed him, tacked him up in time for my instructor arriving. Whilst she rode, I did all my jobs, then went up to catch the end of the lesson. When she got off, I got handed the reins, Bernie thanked me and then went straight home, leaving me to untack, brush him, switch the school lights off, and wait for him to cool down before he could be fed. I know he's my horse, but surely asking her to switch the school lights off is the bare minimum she could have done?! Despite the howling gales today though, he was a really good boy for her Am just not sure if I am expecting too much for her to at least help untack, or even wait around to keep me company whilst he cools down Maybe it's just me Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
