  1. Oh no. I'm so sorry. Come out Smudge, come out soon
  2. We went to our good friends' wedding on Saturday last week and had such a fantastic day. Look at this picture of one the 'Best Men' This is Wellington (Welly to his friends - and anyone with a biscuit!). As always, he'd called into the pub for a 'swifty' to settle his nerves beforehand. The Vicar allowed him in the church, where he sat quietly in the aisle watching his Mum and Dad carefully
  3. We were busy Saturday and I didn't get chance to wtite up Ruby's birthday post. So better late than never and all that The Ruby Monster is now 6yrs old Baby Rubes before we brought her home (8 weeks) Baby Rubes on her 1st night with us (12 weeks) This May This August
  4. I used a similar method to you, although I pick up the dogs leg before saying 'paw'. So, I have dog in a sit. Then I take dog's leg and left up saying 'paw'. Then let dog's leg back down. Repeat and repeat. It's worked for us on all the dogs we've had - and I'm no Dog Whisperer!
  5. BT supports Age Concern's Silver Surfers initiative. Not knowing how old your friend is? Age concern assist both older and vulnerable groups. Does your friend have a local branch that he would be willing to contact? Some will have outreach connections (i.e. either volunteers/staff/a local IT type organisation) that would be able to come and assist your friend. Not sure whether there would be a fee, but would be worth checking out. Also look in the local paper. Very often ex. BT engs will advertise there.
  6. Good grief, poor little Coco. Thank goodness this was another good outcome.
  7. Great pics, brill. This weather is absolutely cracking at the moment isn't it.
  8. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1212508/Scooby-dog-rescued-days-trapped-cave.html OMG - Look at that pic of the rescuers boots peeking out of that hole in the cave :o They are real heroes aren't they? Scooby
  9. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1210535/Dog-owner-let-labrador-balloon-11-stone-fined--escapes-ban-keeping-pets.html Good grief Look at the state of that poor poor dog. His collar "was so tight it had dug into his neck, leaving a painful gaping wound" and his "claws were long and curled due to lack of care" Even if the chap was "genuinely remorseful" I cannot believe that he has been allowed to keep animals. Just shocking it really is
  10. Thanks folks. He is lovely, he's now asleep in Ruby's crate out the kitchen. Why do they always want to sleep in each other's beds? Good job Ruby doesn't mind - she'll be very put out at bedtime though and will probably turf him out - or look at me pitifully and I'll turf him out! Just a few more pics. I took some video as well but can't seem to get them uploaded onto photobucket to be able to post? Hey ho, never mind. Stop giving me evils Murphy That'll do for now .
  11. All your family have matching fur coats Lovely pics
  12. Oh dear, poor chap. Glad he's feeling better now. He does wear stripes well though
  13. Oh yes, I remember A Country Practice That reminds me of another Aussie show - Return to Eden, remember that one? I seem to recall the main female character was fed to the crocodiles I can't remember why, perhaps whoever did it had good reason ), anhyhoo she survived, had plastic surgery so was stunning and returned to get her revenge on those that tried to kill her It was very realistic , they don't make 'em like that any more
  14. I have control over the clicker this weekend - whoop whoop. The result being that I am flicking through the SKY channels at a rate of knots. Last night I watched an episode from North & South series 2. Oh my, what a great show that was. Virgilia (sp?) was such a biatch and George is so.....swoon Patrick Swayze as Orry (sp?) main is so so buff - yum yum. Few weeks ago I caught some episodes of Falcon Crest. All I'm looking for now is Knots Landing, Moonlighting, Sons & Daughters and I'll be set for the weekend Does anyone else like looking back at the shows from yester year?
  15. Murphy is a friend's Springer who's staying for his Bank Holidays with us. He's a love and it's the 1st time we've looked after him - but I don't think it'll be the last As usual, here's the pics MUCHO obsessed with a ball Here he is in the garden trying to make it move with the power of thought "Wha'choo looking at Willis" (Only people of a certain age will remember that :P ) As much as Ruby will share her home quite happliy with any new friend (male/female) she doesn't want to get too close Happiness is............... Murph seems to prefer Ruby's bed to his own Maybe this is why I'll post more later. Hope you like them

  17. Oh no,no,no,no - I don't like this BGT format It may be a grower I s'pose, but it's not for me I don't think. I prefer it when we see them audition with no music etc in front of the judges and then we can follow their 'journey' and see them 'grow' I kept expecting Simon etc to hit their red cross and buzz them off. I'll keep watching though.

    Is It?

Whatever it is, it's lovely - as are the Three Amigos there.
  19. No not a keeper much as we'd like him to be He's my brother in law's. We seem to be a doggy B&B stop over lately. We have another one coming over the bank holiday, a friend's Springer so naturally pics will follow We hopefully will have our next Guide Dog coming twds the end of Sept so will once more be a 2 doggy household for a while. Ruby is very accomodating. We're always tempted to look for another permanent stayer but as we sometimes have to rely on the in laws to see to Ruby if one of us can't get back from work etc, it's not always as easy for people to look after 2 for us as it is 1.
  20. Baby Ben With cousin Ruby And again We ARE sitting - give us the treat! Oops! Don't look down She's so fiiiiiiiiiine, she's so fine fine fine Thanks for looking
  21. Just lovely, well done
