  1. i'll have to get the camera out and take more pics, he's asleep at the moment, but here is one from earlier....
  2. Casper would like to thank you all for his welcome, he has been here a week now, and is really settling in, he's come out of his shell a lot, and is definately going to be a cheeky chap Meg has always shown a huge interest in cats, i'd no idea if she thought of them as friend or food though We once met a big old farm tom cat, she didn't try to chase it, just wanted to play and assumed the 'play stance' butt in the air front legs on the ground........ it didn't work though, she got swiped and she ran off, other than this, she has seen them out of the window at home and sat crying at them. So bringing a tiny wobbly kitten into the home was a big unknown, luckily after she'd got over the first excitement bit, things went well. The first photo was taken after just 2 hours, which was much better than i thought, i was expecting things taking a week at least. Now they are like old buddies, i'm so proud of my monster pup Casper is deaf, we thought there was something different about him when he first came, as the week has gone on and he's settled in better, we've been able to confirm this, so it's going to be an interesting journey for us all. He'll probably be quite pleased though that he doesn't have to listen to her singing and talking/shouting at him when she is trying to play because she is very vocal when she plays.
  3. Meet Casper, who came here late last Friday night, he's tiny, and a bit wobbly but Meg monster loves him, so he's going to stay here. after the monster dog got over trying to eat me, i took a nap.... trying to get a picture without Meg's great big head in the way was hard work ....but i finally got one Meg thought if she couldn't see me i wasn't there, but here i am..... My mum says i'll soon learn which ends not to cuddle too close to

    Toppo

Happy 3rd Bridge Birthday Toppo This month would also have been your 15th birthday and gotcha day, so here are some special birthday/gotcha day thoughts too. My little star, gone from our lives but always in our hearts, i hope you shared a treat or two with all your bridge buddies.

  6. People at home i have put my one and only birthday card my mother sent me on top of the television, it has yet to be noticed........ tomorrow will be my 'payback' day yes that would be me. I've been awol for ages, i finally made my way back.
  7. I change mine as and when the mood takes me, at the moment it's a pic of my Meggy monster I need to take new pictures of her, so once i do that my avatar will no doubt change again.
  8. Sorry Claire, i'll keep my fingers crossed that you get some speedy replies to your add.
  9. ooooh! stir fry, well yes defrosting would be a good idea, ( or if you are like me, you could just bung it in the frying pan and fry it, then chop bits off as they become cooked, then add the rest of the stir fry stuff... ) but maybe not, because i seem to have a similar badge to Helly when it comes to cooking. strangely enough my kids like school dinners too.
  10. Why do you want to defrost it? i just bung them straight in the oven and cook them. :GroupHug: for all those in need, hope tomorrow is a brighter day. Tis nearly the end of my birthday and no one here remembered it i shall tell them tomorrow
  11. He is luffly Sarah. Meg says he is innocent, it was the compost pixies that wrecked the plant pot and they planted the evidence on him............ just like our croc pixies that eat one of each pair of crocs You have to watch out for those pixies, pesky little gits they are
  12. Thank you Sarah. you know my Meg monster sooo well
  13. A Merle dog fix, i have missed these. It's been ages since i've seen your clan Alex, good to see them all again, they all look great

    Hello From Meg

Thanks, i'm pleased we could make you smile Meg definately has something about her! bless her! She is a loveable rogue. Hi Melp, i've been fine thanks, been busy with family stuff, getting myself educated , and things. I'm doing holidays and amusing the kids at the moment which has been good. i'll have to get my act together and come online for more than 'edjucashun' stuff once they've gone back.
  16. We've been awol for ages, finally managed to find our way back, and thought i'd do a quick Meg update for those that have asked. As most of you know nothing to do with Meg is simple she is definately a character and a half, I lurve her to bits though, she's a very special girl, but definately a once in a lifetime experience! Tonight with it being nice and warm, i have had the back doors open, it's been quiet, apart from an annoying squeaking noise, but i didn't think a lot about it till Alan asked if i'd seen Meg..... she wasn't asleep where i assumed she was, so i leapt out back, to find that the annoying squeak is Meg jumping up and down on 'her' trampoline, not unusual for her, apart from tonight she is not alone she is jumping about with her new best friend, a hedgehog! The poor thing was probably feeling seasick, i rescued him, and set him free in nextdoors garden, he toddled off, quite relieved i think! I turned to come back home, and fell flat on my face, down a huge hole, this is by far the biggest hole so far, its about a foot and a half deep and a good two foot round, it's huge! even by Meg's standards! Meg has a habit of burying things either to hide them or save them till later, everything from shoes, treats, food bowls, clothes, you name it she buries it, usually only in a shallow hole, 3-4 inches deep, i think tonight she was trying to bury her new friend, and he was probably trying to walk off, so she dug deeper and deeper trying to contain him, finally giving up and going to play on the trampoline. I shall have to go out and re-landscape my 'garden' tomorrow. So for those that asked, yes she is fine, still loopy, and still agrophobic but getting lots better, (we can now walk round the neighbourhood, as long as we don't meet scarey people) her tail has repaired, though it's not completely under control, its wag sort of wogs at times, matches her legs really, totally unco-ordinated. I've never known a dog quite like her, she has yet to manage to scratch her head/ears with her back foot, it's entertaining to say the least watching her try! how she still has her eyes in tact is quite amazing! She no longer swims in the pool after her attempt at drowning herself which is a good thing, as she was getting to be a danger to herself and anyone in the vicinity. She is coming up to 2 years old now and is starting to settle down a bit, not a lot, but a bit is an amazing achievement for her! This is the only recent picture i have of her at the moment it's not brilliant but you get the idea, she isn't as fat as the picture makes her look, she is still a skinny ribs. Here she is doing a nice stay, pity i chopped off her feet oops! She sends you all a big hello and a sloppy kiss, especially for her Aunty Coryn.

    Advice Pls

Meg broke her leg last year, she was meant to have 6 weeks crate rest, but she hated it, and was able to wedge her leg in the crate to get to the cast and remove it, so we had to settle on 6 weeks rest with no crate. Luckily even though she is only young she likes to sleep a lot, and it wasn't a problem keeping her quiet in the house. No idea how you'd keep an active dog quiet though, low fat treats in a kong, but not too many because if he's inactive he may gain weight which is bad news on recovering limbs. Sorry i'm no help, but we'll wish him all the best for his op, and a speedy recovery
  18. Once a fortnight here I open a bag of dry food, and leave it for Meg to eat, it takes her roughly a fortnight to get through a 1.5kg bag. She doesn't do bowls, (she picks them up, carries them about, dumps the food, then chews the bowl up, even metal ones, or china ones! ) but is happy to help herself from the bag, so i let her. She has a half slice of toast in a morning if anyone makes it, or she'll finish off some cereal. At night she has any leftover dinner if there is some, but her main diet is her dry dog food, she can't stomach wet food.
  19. :GroupHug: Sarah. A very brave decision to have to make. Lots of special thoughts for you all coming from us up here Meg wishes her partner in 'peg leggedness' all the best for his future.
