  8. I would be swayed by the fact you are obviously very unhappy in your current role, if you are currently dreading going into work every day them it is certainly time for you to get out and find something new. Obviously working on a temporoary contract has its potential pitfalls - worst case scenario you end up jobless after a few months but best case scenario is that you could at some point be considered for a permanent role when a vacancy arises. I know my employers will always try to give a permanent position to any agency staff who have proved their worth when one arises. Being in a position to financially support yourself for a few months if it all falls down is essential but it looks like you have the covered. You can always continue to search for a suitable permanent position and if the new company is a well respected one then that looks good on your CV. Don't forget to check if the 'employee care' benefits also apply to temporary staff. I would also ask the new company if they would be prepared to wait until you work your 4 weeks notice - if they are then it shows they are keen to have you work for them as all companies know that most people are required to give a months notice. If not then no matter, as Theresa said someone not working out their notice is not something that a company is likely to pursue, though it can of course affect your references.
  9. Glad to hear that the news was good - those fatty lumps are such a nightmare as every one of them scares us to death until we know they are harmless.
  10. Fingers crossed that the honey does the trick and your girl can soon be running riot again.
  11. Fingers crossed the specialist can come up with a solution. Hugs to you and Bumpy.
  12. Sending heaps of positive thoughts to you and your lovely man - am sure your vet's will take fantastic care of him whatever approach they decide is best, they do sound superb.

  17. Seems like forever ago you first pointed him out to me and said you felt he was meant to be 'your dog' so I am delighted he has finally arrived! Best of luck with him - he is a stunning lad and I am sure he will be very happy with you and settle very quickly - he was obviously very well loved in his foster home and by the sounds of it you have a hard act to follow but I am sure you will be up to the job. So welcome home Jasper - and get a move on with those pics.

    Crufts

Yes she would have to qualify through breed classes. If you compete at any show held under KC rules with a neutered dog you have to gain permission to show from the KC prior to showing. Though how they can tell with a bitch I don't know!
  19. Mine are insured with More Than.
  20. Costs me just over £20 a month to insure my two GSDs (both young) and I think it is worth every penny. Having said that I did let my insurance lapse for Oscar as he got older as the premiums got to a ridiculous level and it did not seem worth it. Fortunately I am in a position where I can shell out for emergencies if needed but having the insurance makes me feel far less worried about either dog developing a major problem that required ongoing and very expensive treatment. Plus I agree - in todays climate the liability insurance is essential!

    Logan Crisis!

Was very proud of him actually - as anyone who has met him knows, Logan is a huge 'worrier' who only really likes his mum, he would far rather other people did not exist so for him to be very brave at the vet's when already highly stressed was excellent. It does help of course if the vet has the right attitude and she was absolutely wonderful with him, giving him plenty of time and planting a big sloppy kiss on his head as he left!

    Logan Crisis!

The good news is that Logan is much better this morning! He is not coughing or wretching and was delighted to have a bowl of chicken soup for his brekkie. He is not his usual bouncy self in that he is acting more like a normal dog than a lunatic which is quite out of character so I am presuming the meds he had are making him a bit sleepy. I shall enjoy the peace while it lasts! Thanks for all the good thoughts - will be keeping a close eye on him over the next few days and he will be getting spoilt with some tasty 'soft' foods which he will enjoy so am hopeful there has been no serious lasting damage done (apart from too my bank account!)
