  1. Teeth all done, Duke's currently waking up in his stable as he needed the power tools. Sharp edges and overgrown top molars which had been grinding his lower ones down plus a flush to remove the food stuck between his teeth. Definitely an extra carrot tonight after putting up with all of that. He said he still has good enamel though so there was some positive. Vet was great and also reassured me about Cornish and exercise. He coughs due to food going down his windpipe from a larynx tie-back so I was always a bit concerned but feel miles better now that exercise is good.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/user/johnmuirtrustvideo Jack puppy could do with one of these (gundog in disguise).
  3. Ditto to never being afraid to ask, one of the great things about here!
  4. Sorry for missing this great news! Seems like an ideal situation Details though please (as well as pics ) Does Earl live in/out, what's he like..... Pearl of wisdom would be that horses have the most amazing ability to constantly teach you and you never stop learning about them! Oh and for this weather definitely stock up on marigolds because the times I've cleared ice out the trough and thought I was getting frostbite = it's just not funny WELCOME )))))))))))))))

    My Boys

How completely relaxed do they look!!!! I love the concentration on all their faces
  6. What a brilliant opportunity Clare (I wanted to join in!) and Loki is definitely a star in the making. Loved the video! Are you doing any indoor competing this Winter? You must be very excited about next Summer with all the work you've put in. Snug as a Blue in a rug Jayne Be interested to hear what the McTim. lady says. I'm ashamed to say ours didn't get any xmas presents although I did make a bit of a massively numpty ebay error this month and ended up winning both a Rambo supreme heavy turnout with neck cover AND an amigo heavy turnout with neck cover - both for Duke as I needed to replace his one heavy wug plus. Great to have both but really, one would have done Where do you store 56 rugs Pendlewitch?? I could do with a new bridle if Wanda ever has a garage sale Maybe just a can of guinness for her! Couldn't believe the ice again this morning. Just as it had cleared
  7. Glad the bad stuff found a way out - well done Mollydog! Funny you saying that about the vets (I had no idea it was a BH) because I was going to phone early to get an appt for Ted's booster tomorrow. As they're a hospital that might have annoyed the nurse who answered
  8. That's the very reason why I love my 4x4 and wouldn't want to be without it! That and muddy fields! Hope everyone's out their boxes now? And no mischief making or shoe losing from Mr Loki?! Hopefully the grass will have been more luring than tanking round the field! Had a wonderful ride today, Cornish was an absolute star Walked through a mini flood on one of the lanes, walked past scary life-size reindeer models in a farmers garden, walked past a field with horses charging at him at the gallop, and didn't bother with anything - bar a plastic bag in the hedge, what is it with plastic bags? What I was so in love with him for was that when he gets scared he just stops (feet planted) and takes deep breaths, then listens to me, calms down, and gently walks on No rearing or spinning or 100mph reversing He just looks and then gets on with it without fuss. Duke has his dental on Tuesday, am umming and ahhhing about whether it's worth having a general blood test just as a check up.
  9. Welcome to the Refuge You could always help with home checks, I'm sure you will be contacted with ways you can get your feet wet again! Congratulations on your baby.
  10. Ted reverted to a puppy on the big red day! Touch my presents and you're dog meat (hope you like this one Milly Merle) Only kidding!
  11. Hoping things are still the same or preferably better!
  12. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you, KathyW, and all Hoping for a peaceful and joyful time for everyone.
  13. What an amazing boy Best wishes for 29th and for the countdown to Summer.
  14. Molly dog! That is bad timing Hope it doesn't bother her too much and drains and heals quickly.
  15. Apparently they have enough food now (at least the thieves left them some). Great to know people have been so generous The staff must have been gutted. ETA: Just read and seen why some was left - and there was me thinking they must have had a conscience! Seriously though they have received a lot of donations, thankfully.

    Disgusted

Really hoping your neighbours dog is found safely Do they have insurance? That should cover the cost of advertising/reward if they do.
  17. Lovely to see his own page! Can't tell you how much he suits his name. He came out the pound wagging and smiling at everybody, big rottie style grin, and just wanted to be given directions so he could get on with wherever it was he was going! He was given a fond farewell from the kennels and they were made up that he was going to a foster home. Perfectly happy passenger in the car. I've a feeling he's going to be treated like a King!
  18. Worrying about getting the treatment you need and then worrying about making a fuss is the last thing your Dad should be having to deal with Thinking of you all for 4th.
  19. How's everyone doing with the ice? Managed to ride on Saturday but it's not looking good for the rest of the hols. Wish Christmas could be moved to the Summer! The metal trough connector cracked last night creating a nice fountain and a very cold job. Plus the water bucket for topping up the stable buckets cracked. Mucking the field out is taking extra long because not only do I have to find the droppings in the ice but then I have to dislodge them from the ground. Better than mud though! I've found someone to ride on the Chase with too A local lady has got an ex-flat racer who's not good hacking out without company. It's a 10/15 min. trailer ride so fingers crossed for the new year.
  20. Why do people buy Christmas cards that are not charity ones? It's something I find strange as if you can buy a pack of cards for the same sort of price as a pack of charity cards, why would you not? If you can give money to charity without any effort or expense and for something you would be doing anyway, why not charity cards? Genuine question! I won't buy cards unless they're charity ones because it's nothing but a wasted opportunity otherwise and I don't see the point of ordinary ones just for the sake of a design.
  21. Got ya!! Will be able to ask someone just after xmas. You never know
  22. Could you give me an idea of the type Sam, i.e. is it something local practices are likely to have an old one of, or bigger? There is someone I could ask if I can sound like I have a clue about what I'm asking for
  23. This one left me a little gobsmacked Petrol station this evening, about 8pm. Man at the pump next to me finishes fueling - leaves his headlights on, drivers door WIDE open, and keys in the ignition...Goes into the shop to buy a paper and pay before calmy returning to vehicle. I had to keep looking for disbelief, thinking the driver must be by the car somewhere Top Ten Way to get your car stolen!
