  1. As a rescue I would certainly want to know even though it is too late for this poor dog. Regarding the shotgun, probably the best person to speak to would be the local police firearms officer as they are the ones who approve or revoke licences and with this sort of history they may well take a very dim view of things and either remove or at least refuse to renew his licence. Someone who is happy to shoot cats and dogs like that should not, in my opinion, be allowed a lethal weapon.
  2. Our vet always says 2 weeks Alex
  3. Congratulations. Best wishes to you both.
  4. If width is the problem then you might find an Icelandic is too wide. Assa certainly felt wide when I was riding although not as wide as my current fat cob but then she was 13.1 so maybe a slightly smaller (or less portly) one would be OK. They are definitely extremely comfortable to ride once you get used to the different gaits and the different riding style. I would have thought an Arab or Arab x would be a good bet. Am off to google the other one you mentioned as I have never heard of it.
  5. Something else to be aware of is that a number of horse fly sprays contain permethrin or similar products which are known triggers for seizures in dogs so its good not to go near the dogs straight after spraying the horses as it does tend to linger on clothes (or that might just be me doing it wrong lol) Just remembered that citronella is another suggested trigger so the same applies
  6. Not sure which area of France you are in Eve but it is very likely that if there is a frequent turnover of horses the "dealer" is just keeping the horses until the butcher does his rounds but I hope I am wrong.
  7. The daughter of a friend has just been diagnosed with it. Although it is caused by Parvovirus it is apparently neither fatal nor contagious to dogs. I am not sure which order she asked the two questions lol.
  8. My vets have always recommended tinned Chappie for pancreatitis and it has certainly worked well here
  9. I have never managed to find an electronic zapper that does any good. I still find the best thing is the good old fashioned sticky fly papers. Not pretty but they do the job and you can now get pretty patterns and scented ones if you look around. Would be interested to see if anyone else has found things that work.
  10. Yep, I am on your friends list on FB (Rachel Ladley)
  11. She does have a facebook account but I dont think she goes on there much. She is on my friends list (which you should be able to see I think) or i have other contact details for her if you need them I want more rain........
  12. The HenryHound is fantastic. The electrically powered rotating brush in the turbo head means it works just like an upright and is brill for getting hairs off carpets but the rest of the attachments work just like any other cylinder. Great suction and very robust
  13. Happy Gotcha Day Tricks Cant believe its been 4 years already
  14. Its crazy here too. We are full as always and, like you, the calls keep coming. We had already had 2 "can you take my dog" calls by 9am this morning............. I might just unplug the phone and go and hide somewhere
  15. About 25 miles away if thats any good
  16. Signed and shared on facebook
  17. I love RMF the way it is. I rarely post but I do confess that I read it daily as it makes me feel part of something a bit special. I can see that it might be better to keep it shorter so maybe doing a weekly rather than monthly thread :dunno: I confess I have never tried Vegemite but I voted that I hate both equally since I assume it must be vile if it is any way similar to the total wrongness that is Marmite.
  18. When you go on their site to do a transfer it gives you a drop down menu for the endings and .org.uk wasn't shown when I did it so I rang their customer service centre and they told me they couldn't do it. It does give the option to buy new .org.uk domains through them, just not transfer existing ones.
  19. Thanks for that. OFf for a look and hopefully can get it sorted today
  20. Please can I pick the brains of the web savvy folks here? Our .org.uk domain name is due for renewal very soon and I want to move it away from the planks it is with currently. I know Go Daddy has been recommended before but they don't do .org.uk domains. Can anyone recommend somewhere I can transfer it to. We need somewhere where it is easy to set up the website address to point to our forum. I don't want to get it wrong and my brain hurts with looking...... Thanks
  21. So sorry My thoughts are with her family and friends at this tragic time
