  1. The 2nd event in August is in Lauder, which is 77m from Newcastle. If anyone was interested in helping me I might be able to do it but can't do it alone.
  2. I'm not sure Lassie would chase a cat. We were at my sister's on Tuesday night and I forgot her cat was home (he usually lives at the stables but has been unwell so she's brought him home to look after him). Apart from Lassie looking up the stairs at him she made no move towards him. She also hasn't any interest in my rabbit even though she can walk right up to her hutch - seems indifferent.
  3. there is also the Lovely Lassie Valentine (not that I'm biased) http://www.oldies.org.uk/?p=20474 who truly is a lovely girl. OR the very gorgeous Ginny: http://www.oldies.org.uk/?p=20586 who is a delight. Good luck, fingers crossed but with Oldies you're spoilt for choice!!
  4. She is adorable. I'm having to be very strong to resist her but I know she won't wait long. Took her and Ginny to my parents tonight and she was as good as gold and they both loved her. Everyone who meets her thinks she is a little beauty.
  5. She really is a "lovely lassie". Pretty, good and a lovely temperament. She and Ginny are fine, wander round the house, both follow me everywhere, walk outside well together. I haven't left them in the same room while I've been out, keep them seperated for the time being, but while I'm here they've both been fine. I think she'll be snapped up. Wouldn't it be fantastic if someone came for Lassie and fell for Ginny too - one can dream!!!! This dog is a credit to her owner, she has been loved and cared for and it shows.
  6. That's great thanks - somehow I can't quite get the hang of attaching photos!! She's such a pretty girl, she's been really good since she got here but she's starting to be quite playful now - I don't think anyone has told her she's nearly 12!!!! I think she must have had a very happy life in the past.
  7. A sneak preview of a very lovely girl, handed over on Valentine's Day and her owner sent all of her belongings along with a "thank you valentine card" for her - thanking her for always being there with them so sad. But she is a lovely girl, has settled really well and will be on the Oldies website sometime over the weekend. She is a beauty and bound to steal someone's heart. The picture doesn't really do her justice, but it is a good picture. http://www.therefuge.org.uk/forums/index.php?app=gallery&module=images&section=viewimage&img=1405 oh well - that worked didn't it - anyway, you can see her on the gallery.
  8. If you have any success would you please send me a copy of your letter and I'll try it too
  9. fantastic news - bout time poor boy, he's been thru a lot but at last his time has come xxxx
  10. That's excellent Becky - well done. Good luck with the training, hope to see you soon x
  11. FANTASTIC news. Happy new life Beethoven, just took a while to find a family worthy of you, bless xxxx
  12. Oh poor Snowy - good job he's got a lovely foster family to keep on caring for him. I think it's bad enough changing your mind about adopting but not to bother telling anyone until the day of pick-up - that's just thoughtless!!! Snowy deserves better!
  13. I think sharing would be a great idea. It's so disheartening when you feel you're not achieving much in your area, because of lack of support in your area. Even just having someone to bounce ideas around with is helpful. I didn't really think about how large the north east area is until I realised I'm only covering a minute part of it - some "sub-regional" co-ordinators would be good!!
  14. Oh that's so good, pleased he didn't wait too long.
  15. Sadly Ginny's homecheck did not pass so she's stuck with me a while longer (think I can cope)!!
  16. It is a great start and hopefully all the homechecks will be successful. Great news for Ginny - but I'l be so sad to see her go My first foster. Hopefully another one or two will quickly come my way!!!!
  17. Fingers crossed for you Jerry - how exciting, a new home!!!!
  18. I'm so pleased that Jet has his new home with a lovely family. Great too that he has stayed in the north east. He was such a pleasure to transport, and walked into his foster carers home as if he was visiting an old friend - made straight for the toy basket. I was very surprised that his foster carers didnt adopt him themselves because they seemed to take to him straight away (I hope they are continuing to foster because they were lovely and had a lovely home for an oldie). Look forward to meeting up with you again Frances and meeting the gorgeous Jet again. As we're not too far away we should meet up for a walk and you can meet Ginny too. Oh I love a happy ending xxxxxx
  19. One member of my family often falls out with people and I keep saying "life is too short for grudges", however, if ANY of my family treated a dog - or any other animal - in this fashion I think I would find it extremely hard to forgive them, I would never understand how they could act in this ignorant callous fashion. Thankfully, I just know that none of them would, we all love dogs too much to act in that way. I cant believe anyone could "make tea around the dog" - who the hell cares about tea when a dog (animal) needs help. Not surprised you're angry!!! This poor dog is probably better off now.
  20. It's excellant. Poor Ginny has been waiting even longer, maybe she needs a makeover too (hint, hint)
  21. I'm so very sorry for your loss run free sweet Guinness xx

    Sunday Walkies

Pics are great, the dogs are FABULOUS. What stunning dogs the three of them are - can't decide which I prefer. I had a tricolour as a child and was going to get another until I met Tess, black and white, so I love b&w's, but, my dad has a red and white so I love r&w's too. I think you are very sensible to have one of each colour!!!!
  23. Hope Trish picks up again soon. Good thought to her and her family
  24. just seen this - hope she is doing ok, lots of loving thoughts from me n Ginny x
