  1. Have u got yours undone yet? Am already wearing a vest, t shirt, fleece jumper and a hoody! Don't think much more will fit over bump!
  2. Boiler man has arrived. Fingers crossed he can fix it!
  3. Thanks Clazuk but it's not BG it's Potterton themselves! Alexis. He's just called and said he's on another job but then will get to me! We'll see.
  4. Heating engineer was supposed to be here between 12 and 5. I left wok early at 12. I phoned the company at 4.45 and was told he'd be here in 10-20 mins. It's now 6pm and HE's NOT HERE YET! I've got loads to do and have had to cancel a vet's appt to wait! I wouldn't mind but I've paid the company £300 cover for a year for parts and labour after calling them out 6 mnths ago for a repair that was £200 ( that was included in the yearly cover). I'm fed up with being freezing and seeing my own breath in my living room. My toes are so cold they hurt and haven't been able to get them warm for days GRRRRR!
  5. Still freezing in the house. Upstairs is ok but no heating dowstairs still. Rang the boiler people this morning ( we got them out last yr for a repair and paid for yearly cover) and they can't come out till Thurs between 12 and 5. Not sure whether to go out and buy a heater for the living room but am not sure I could lift it in and out of the car at the mo!
  6. I'm sure ages ago someone mentioned on here a book which had good advice about bringing a new baby into a doggy household , anyone know what its called?
  7. RM moan- you can see my breath in my living room! For some reason I have heating upstairs but not down and it's bloody freezing. My plug in heater appears to be broken too. Grrrr!
  8. we are off to South africa on 30th Jan. After that I doubt we'll go away due to baby and money!
  9. hope you're ok. Take it easy and decide about making a statement when u feel up to it. If you do decide to make a statement then you'll need your injuries documented. The best people to do this are police surgeons or failing that A&E. Don't go to your GP as they aren't supposed to do it and won't do it as thoroughly!
  10. to everyone who needs them I fell over on the ice this morning adslid backwards down a hill. I had to crawl up a hill before I could stand up without it being too slippery. Later on one of the GPs crashed his car on the same bit of ice. His car slid down the hill despite having his handbrake and footbrakes on and it being in reverse! It got wedged underneath a barrier at the bottom.oops. Baby seems fine and has been kicking lots today!
  11. HAPPY NEW YEAR! sat here on my own drinking non alcoholic mulled wine with about a mouthful of proper red wine added! This time last year i was in a pub and this time next year who knows as we'll have a baby! Scary thought!
  12. Charlie would like to thank Karen Cafferysmum and the Buttons household for her SS pressies. We couldn't get her to tear the wrapping open tho, she was a bit wary of it and she's not used to unwrapping things despite it being her 3rd Christmas with us! We opened them for her but she hasn't had them yet due to the amount of other stuff she got! When we give them to her I will get pics!
  13. Not had time to read back to all the unwell people. Last day at work tomorrow. This afternoon I have felt ill with a temperature, bunged up nose and irritating dry tickly cough and tight chest. Driving to london tomorrow night so I'm hoping that it's just a cold and not flu and that I feel better by Christmas day!
  14. I am happy today! Found out that clinic has been cancelled Christmas Eve so instead of having to drive down to London on Christmas Eve I can go down Tues night instead! I also had my 20 week scan today and everything seems fine so I might start buying stuff in preparation for when baby is here. Tomorrow I am doing GP surgeries all day. I'm not getting my flu jab until next week and it takes 10 days to kick in and at the moment there is a huge number of people in Merseyside with flu (both in hospital and going to the GP) so I'd appreciate lots of 'no catching flu' thoughts until the jab kicks in! Flu when pregnant can be risky as death is up to 9 times more likely ( although still not that likely) and your immune system is weaker so symptoms tend to be worse and you're more at risk of complications like pneumonia. And all you can take is paracetamol!
  15. Hello! The most common cause of coughing up blood is a chest infection, particularly if it's mixed with phlegm. Get to the GP and get some antibiotics! We have a lot of people in hospital with flu and pneumonia at the moment so best to catch things early.
  16. If u are getting a wood burner it is worth checking the restrictions as you may live in a smoke control area which limits the type of fuel you burn or the make of stove u get http://www.stovesonline.co.uk/smoke-contro...an-air-act.html http://www.uksmokecontrolareas.co.uk/index.php
  17. I have started to feel baby move - well I think! On Thursday I had some strange popping/bubbling sensations and have felt it more since then so I think it must be baby. Feels very odd! Have had a nice weekend with OH and Charlie, he has left her up here with me this week. Hope everyone is ok.Am liking the new board
  18. I have a school friend who lives down in London. We don't talk that often but meet up every few months and chat for hours! I know I can ring her if I need to talk about anything. In Liverpool there's one person I'd meet up with for coffee but I haven't known her long and although we do talk about stuff, it's not those girlie type of chats you have with someone you've known for ages. Changing jobs every 4 months means its not easy to make friends via work. I tend to go to work and come home and watch tv/go on internet. Very boring life!!It worries me a bit that when OH moves up here we won't really have any friends here. He has some in London but I'm not sure how likely they are to stay in touch!
  19. Re drying clothes, OH hasn't got room for a tumble dryer and as i have one up here he has bought one of these http://www.jmldirect.com/product.asp?pf_id=D2001 a Dri buddy mostly for when we have lots of baby washing to do! reviews here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=982197
  20. It's called polyhydramnios and although it can cause problems, often it doesn't. Usually certain checks are done ( for things like diabetes, certain infections and any possible abnormalities of the baby) to look for possible causes, but often no cause is found. Most ladies with polyhydramnios go on to have normal healthy babies with no problems. Some go into premature labour and the baby is more likely to be in a funny position and not head down than in pregnancies where there is a normal amount of fluid. Try not to worry, the chances are that everything will be ok

  22. I'm fine! Have finally stopped being sick, yay! Still getting intermittent nausea tho. will be 18 weeks in 4 days so nearly halfway.
