  1. Hi Sarah Sorry you are having to rehome Bob and that the other home didnt work out. Can you email or pm me and let me know if you would like him put back on the Trailie Welfare homing page?
  2. Sadly, despite many hours of searching and with sightings from the public on Sunday, Lucy was found dead on the framland where she went missing today. Absolutely gutted that we let her down so badly.
  3. Spent last night in car at fisheries but no show. Walked the surrounding woods and fields for 4 and half hours with my hound off lead and running about sniffing, but no sight. A very difficult area to search if Lucy wants to remain hidden as it is very hilly and covered with gorse, woods, shrubs, ferns. No sightings of her since Monday. Still meeting Saturday morning at Crickley Hill at 10am. We may drive somewhere else nearby to start walk, will decide in morning. Its very muddy up there so a good pair of boots and a change of shoes and socks will be a good idea. Also, binoculars and a roll of cellotape to tape posters along the walk will help. Anyone not up to hill walking, there is a lot to be said for standing in one place looking through binoculars or even going to local village and putting leaflets through doors.
  4. Have only put 4 pics on up to now as have been so busy since I got back. And like Eileen and Marion, somehow I was so busy on the stall that I didnt even get the camera out until late in the day. The lady I took a picture of, Ina, took loads and has a blog so when she puts pics on that I will pop her link on. Link to my measley 4 photos!
  5. In this picture in the foreground is Fern, who was placed in Prettiest Bitch, I think. The 2 further back - on the left is Mabel who won Best Trick - her owner set off a bedside clock and Mabel started to bay! Apparently she taught herself to do that when the alarm goes off in the morning! The other hound is called Katie, she is a PAT dog who has just registered as a READ dog - they go into schools and children read to them! Behind them, outside the ring to the right, is Megan and Rebel - her owners adopted Rebel not so long ago - he is the only hound I have seen with 2 blue eyes.
  6. The picture is of a lovely lady, called Ina with one of her hounds and my Lotty on the outside..... but who is that rooood woman behind her and what is she doing? Lenabears - It was great to see Dylan, especially as I use a photo of him (below) with your daughter on most of my promotional leaflets. Dylans page on our website is HERE We have some beautiful postcards for promoting trailhounds and if anyone wants any to put up in their local vet surgeries/country stores etc, do pm me your address and I will pop some in the post for you. Here is old Spot, who won the Oldies class on the day - Spot was homed through the Oldies Club a few years ago.
  7. Oh yes! I am busy uploading it to photobucket right now!!!
  8. Dont think you can beat goretex as it is an actual waterproof (and breathable) membrane rather than just a coating on material which requires reproofing. Although I am a great fan of ebay, beware the great goretex offers there as many are fake. If you have a TK MAXX near you, keep checking them out as they get goretex coats and shoes occasionally but they sell really quickly! (because the price is so good!)
  9. I decided this week that I would like to register Lotty as PAT dog and wondered who to ask about it. I visited Marion yesterday and mentioned it and she said this fred was running. Coincidence, eh! Reading the above advice, one thing Lotty does when she anticipates someone is going to give her food - she drools bigtime! (first trailhound I have had do that!) So, would that count against her? Would she be able to visit and have all the fuss but no treats? Edit to add - do they have to have full conventional vaccination record? Lotty has, for last 2 years, been vacc'd with homeopathic nosodes.
  10. Eastnor grounds back onto the Malvern Hills. If you drive a mile up the road from Eastnor (going away from Ledbury) there is free parking on the left and a lovely track up the side of the Malverns.
  11. I have always thought that was George!!
  12. Ooooo wish I had remembered to check the local newsagents today! I just checked Your Dog online but they still have the January info on. Here is an old piccie of Lucy with George which I really love......

    January

So sorry, only just seen this. I hope there is some good news, please update us. What a dreadful year and for something to happen this close to Christmas...doesnt bear thinking about. Will speak to you both over the next few days. Good luck with January and all your lovely hounds
  14. Some slightly more positive news from Eileen: Just spoken to Pat's owners who have spotted Pat but couldn't get hold of her. She is still in Fakenham on the North side in fields. She still has her lead attached but was very nervous. They are still out there hoping to get hold of her and I have advised them to take some food and their other trailhound and even perhaps leave the food down and some clothing scented with the other trailhound so she will hopefully stay in the area. Fingers crossed they will be able to get her later. Eileen
  15. Hi Deb Only just seen this thread. So sorry to hear about Dene, what a worry that is. I cant remember if I have ever seen you drive. Do you? I was thinking t'other day that I havent been in touch for ages. Havent done a car boot for ages. Hope Dene gets a good result and life gets back to normal soon.
  16. There are some great sellers on cafepress. I bought a shirt a couple of years ago from cartoon dogs on there but cant remember the postage. Here is a great US site, the woman hand paints animals on shirts, I had a foxhound done as thats the nearest to a trailhound. Well worth the money...... LINKY
  17. Yay Mac, way to go! They all look super fit and having fun Koshka and Dally would only 'paddle' in the shallows but Lotty is more adventurous and will go quite deep.
  18. Well done for acting so prompt Slightly off the topic of the dog being offered but ...... There is a trend on freecycle to offer things on a first come/first serve bais. I used to do that and thought it was fair. Well, it isnt fair really, cos the people with 24/7 access to a computer, snaffle all the good stuff When I offer something now, I add NB: I give preference to freecyclers who post OFFERED as well as WANTED ads! I wait a few days and then make a choice after checking people's posting history. It would be nice if this became more popular then if someone did offer an animal they wouldnt feel 'bound' to give it to the first person to contact them.
  19. At last I have got round to putting footage of Lucy doing agility onto youtube. Lucy is a trailhound who lost a back leg in an accident. She was fostered by Marions friend, Dorothy, and Marion was her official 'auntie'!! Lucy finally moved down to Norfolk where she was adopted by a lovely lady. They are just made for each other. I went down to Norfolk a few weeks back for a holiday and met up with Lucy and lots of other rehomed trailies. Sorry that the video quality is poor, it always sems to lose definition once I upload it to youtube. Lucy was a bit distracted as there were things going on in the other ring but she normally flies round the course! Lucy in the park Trailie gathering!!
  20. So sorry, poor cat. Many years ago, I actually ran over and killed one of my own cats when I was turning into my drive and was doing about 5 miles an hour. It can happen in the blink of an eye. However, I would never, ever drive on after hitting something, even a little bird, without checking whether it was killed outright or only injured.
  21. I have just got back from a holiday and I saw Lucy. I went to her agility class and got some video of her. When I get it uploaded I will put it on. Would live to see your video too, Marion. As mentioned, Lucy is missing her rear leg....dont know if it makes a lot of difference if it is front leg?
  22. Bit late Archie but.... Happy Birthday
  23. It must be their colourings that made them clash - fire and ice!! Mac looking as handsome as ever
  24. To anyone here who knows the manager of Freshfields - can I pass on my hopes that he and all animals in his care are safe and well. I knew him many years ago and know he always cared for animals and always acted in their best interests.
  25. Can I also suggest investing in a magnetic dog bed? I have heard that they are brilliant. Houndwoman knows the name of an online place to buy them. I wish I had known about the beds when I had Koshka. His collar helped but I think the bed would have been helpful too.
