  1. Hope Barney is soon fit and well again.
  2. Sorry to hear about your friend. Sometimes all the good wishes are still not enough.
  3. Not a good start to the month here as foster hound Patrick had to go to the vet this morning. Hope this isn't a foretaste of how this month is going to turn out!!
  4. Where does he sleep? Put him in a dog bed by the side of yours and he will probably sleep all night.
  5. Super effort especially with the weather!!
  6. Items dispatched this morning so should be with you next week.
  7. Be glad to. If you email me at [email protected] with an address to send them to I will get a few off to you.
  8. I knit these for local RGT Christmas stall and they are very popular. We put a couple of chewsticks in and sell for £1. They are about 5" high and can hang on a tree from a loop at the top of the stocking. If anyone here is having a stall pre-Christmas and thinks these might sell for them too, please let me know and I'll send you some free including P&P.
  9. Have a super day lovely lad!
  10. Looks grand and you are obviously doing a good job spreading the word on Oldies.
  11. That's one seriously lovely lad!!
  12. So sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl.
  13. Congratulations. Hope it all works out perfectly for you both.
  14. Congratulations to you and all good wishes for Ellie to enjoy a long and happy life.
  15. All change and back to how we were!! The little one we were expecting to foster has been offered another foster home much nearer to where it is at the moment so my two girls will not be having a new companion just yet. However, the arrangement is much better for the dog concerned and I'm sure it won't be long before something else comes along to take up a foster space here.
  16. No, for once it is nothing like a pointy as far as I can see.
  17. Now our latest long term foster girl Izzy has been here a couple of weeks and settled well, we may be getting an new foster boy shortly.....an OC dog this time too!!! Unless anything more suitable is found for him I'll leave you all to guess who might be moving here to join my girls.
  18. Have a happy day lovely girl, with lots more Gotchas still to come.
  19. She's a cute little thing, don't you think? and such a good girl too!!
  20. Actually I saw her on facebook. I was looking round rescues and sites generally for a new foster dog when Henry moved on and saw her picture. I thought she looked like a lurcher and about our Sally's size. Her owners are moving to Spain next week and were trying to rehome her as they thought the heat would be too much for her. She had a lovely write-up and sounded like a perfect little girl so I got in touch. They brought her over on Sunday to see how we all got on and she was just fine and got on well with Sally. You couldn't help but love her straight away so she has stayed as a long term foster with rescue backing but we will probably adopt her eventually. We have never had a dog this small though, definitely not a lurcher and only 17" to the shoulder, probably terrierXlab. I am hoping, as they seem to have settled well together, that I will be able to foster another (probably a male dog) in a little while if the OC has something suitable for us.
  21. Here she is....little girl Izzy
  22. Henry has moved on to green fields and pastures new which is good as he was far from the perfect fit with us. Sally was not sorry to see him move on and has already welcomed new long-term foster girl 10 year old Izzy. Her owners are moving abroad shortly and had nowhere for her to go so she arrived here yesterday. Supposed to be a lurcher but she is the smallest girl we have had at only around 17" to the shoulder, fawn coloured wavy coat and a temperament to die for it would seem. She lived with a cat and is super with other dogs, kids and people so far. Fingers crossed all continues to go well and we get used to having such a small girlie here.....round about beagle size I would think. hopefully once she settles and if all is well, we will be able to foster another along with her and Sally.
  23. Well so far he is clean, eating and slept through the night so that is good. Otherwise though we get nothing but growls and curled lip if we try to do anything like dry him off from the rain, wipe his paws, check his ears for tatts. He is not a happy boy which is understandable but I'm just hoping he has a nice side waiting to come out. Having been badly bitten by a hound years ago there is no way I will keep one that continues to threaten, so Henry will need to change his attitude or stay in kennels instead of a home. We'll see how things go in the next few days.
