  1. Gorgeous, aren't they! Thanks for the lovely comments and the great ideas, it's definitely given me some ideas to think about developing. I already have stockings on my list for nearer Christmas. If I were like Tesco, I'd start putting them on my website from August More ideas are always welcome so if you think of anything else, please shout
  2. I hope it's ok to post a link Mods - No problem if you need to remove it. The items for children are here: www.kellypeach.com/children Thanks Mel, that would be great! I'm trying to work out what size it should be if I do a wall-hanging version. I might see if there are alternative ways to do one too. I think they could be really, really nice.
  3. The internet is letting me down. I think I'll have to put pen to paper and start drawing what's in my mind from your ideas and suggestions....it could be wildly different Baking sets are already on my website, as well as individual aprons, but I think it would be a good idea to have an alternative gardening version available too. I used to love pottering around in the garden with my parents when I was little
  4. Oh wow! There's some food for thought, thanks chaps I've got a picture in my mind for how the wall-hanging-secrety-pockety-thing could work but will scavenge the internet to see if there's anything similar. I'd like one for my wall too
  5. If you wanted to buy a handmade item for a child, what would you be looking for? What are the items you can't find on the high street? What things do you buy that you wish weren't mass produced and a bit more personal? I've extended the range of things I make (using fabrics - I wish I had a talent for making wooden things too but I don't ) to include things for little people but so far it's limited to aprons, baking sets and mini bags. I wanted to have a few more things available but I can't find inspiration from the internet. Everything is so plastic for kids now! I'm thinking about possibly putting together some little gardening sets, with a hardwearing apron, some little hand tools, a pack of sunflower seeds or vegetable seeds. Or maybe a painting set. But would they be the sort of thing that people would buy? Help! What sort of thing should I be making next?
  6. Interesting to see this thread. I ordered some Flexwize to try instead of Synflex. Pixie had been on it for 7 or 8 days and unfortunately she's coming up in nettle-like sores and hot red patches on her hips and lower back. They're driving her nuts and she's really trying to gnaw herself. I was struggling to think what was causing it because I haven't changed her food or my washing detergent, or used any household sprays or chemicals, and she's been wormed and Frontlined within the last few weeks. The only thing I can put it down to is Flexwize. When I checked the bottle, I noticed that it has E122 colour in it. Annoyingly, I didn't see a FULL list of ingredients on the internet when I ordered it. I could only find a list of active ingredients, not other additives. I've looked it up and E122 is quite well known to cause itching and red sores. I stopped giving her Flexwize two days ago and I'm now waiting for a new supply of Synflex to arrive. Oddly enough, she hasn't been licking/chewing the sores today and they're much less red so that further fuels my thoughts about the horribly bright pink colour of Flexwize. I would say that it might be ok for some but certainly not for others so think carefully before swapping.
  7. Congratulations on being married It would be wonderful if Cliffy could be taken to see Lisa. Go on Nige, give it a try.
  8. The winning bidder is very pleased to have won, as is his wife who has always wanted to take part in something like this They are currently living in New Zealand and split their time between the warmer climate there and the north of England. They have three French Bulldogs in New Zealand so we sadly won't be seeing them on the show. So, all in all, we can safely say the auction was a huge success and we have gained new supporters on the other side of the world!
  9. Thanks Becks, that would be great!! Children under the age of 16 aren't allowed to act as collectors but can certainly be present and help look after the dogs
  10. Oldies Club have been granted permission to hold a street collection at Sainsbury's in London Colney, St Albans on Saturday 28 March. We need lots of help so if you are able to lend a hand, please post here or PM me. Dogs are welcome but obviously must be happy to be in a potentially busy environment.
  11. I'm very pleased to report that Oldies Club have found a lovely foster home for this girl. This thread can now be closed
  12. Oldies Club have been contacted by a veterinary surgery in Milton Keynes, regarding a severely underweight, neglected and emaciated older staffy girl. She has no name and has been removed from her previous owner. She currently weighs 10kgs but should be nearer 16kg. She is estimated to be at least 13 years old and she has two mammary lumps, one is fatty, the other is hard but still small. She needs to gain weight before she is fit enough to have the lumps removed. She is currently being cared for by the vets at the surgery but she is desperately in need of a rescue space, ideally in a cosy home where she can be given the love she has probably never had so far in her life. Please PM me if you think you can help.
  13. I'm hopeful that they may have put us all together anyway but it's probably best left to their judgement. I don't want to pressure them into putting us all together, especially if the pressure makes them want to split us up as much as possible. I think, along with the beer festival campers, it's going to be a busy weekend for them so it's probably in their interests to put doggy people together and beer drinking folk in another allotted area but it's really got to be their decision. I'll be there too, one way or another. I'll probably end up being a day tripper again like last year but I was hoping to stay if I can. My three dogs will be adding to the numbers
