  1. Wendy, I'm sorry, I also missed your post. When will you know more about the move?
  2. No, they're still trading and the administrators are trying to find a buyer. There are so many high street names in trouble and it's awful for the people working for them.
  3. The Pier has gone into administration I love that shop.
  4. We had rain, rain and more rain overnight. Why can't we have snow? I was norty last night. I went snooping around for Christmas/birthday pressies and found some posh chocolate If that wasn't norty enough, I ate it too I will be in so much trouble.
  5. Without knowing more about the situation, I'm slightly annoyed that anyone would make such a rash suggestion as muzzling a dog for that reason. Has anyone thought of consulting with a vet or behaviourist or is that too radical? Could it be one of those situations where one person responds to something on a thread and others just agree without giving it any thought? Either way, it's a bad idea to only address the symptoms and not the cause. Muzzling the poor dog won't stop the urge to eat the furniture however it will intensify the stress which will then manifest itself in other ways. Then they'll have more symptoms to deal with. Go tell them Victoria!
  6. Oh Cher, you do make me laugh!
  7. I agree Hopefully someone somewhere will know more but in the meantime we all know Max is very happy and loved
  8. Great idea, Fee! 'Fostering' him would be a lovely idea
  9. Oh God, the photo says it all
  10. I can't stop thinking about this poor boy
  11. That's terrible, those poor dogs. Something clearly isn't right if the owner can't be found. I've reported the first comment on the article. It detracts from the seriousness of the situation and makes a mockery of the newspapers report.
  12. It's a consolation that Max doesn't know we're waiting for results so it's life as normal for him
  13. I can highly recommend System Insight. Their deliver is free and next day. I have found them to be very cost effective too, even more so if buying more than one cartridge. High yield means it'll print more pages before it needs replacing. Basically it has more ink in it. It usually works out to be cheaper to buy high yield because it should last for longer. Obviously it's relative to what you print though.
  14. Oooh, great thread. You've given me some great ideas for diet variation. Fank yew
  15. Wow!! Wonderful photos I wish mine would stand still long enough to have their collective photo taken. Not a chance. Max looks like he's having a great time, surely this is the best medicine for him. I don't think I've seen a photo of you before, Alex. You looks luffly

A black greyhound Gorgeous. My dopey black greyhound just came over for a cuddle as I was looking at his photo. I think he approves
  18. Very moving post Jacqui Your family sound amazing. I will be thinking of you all during the coming time ahead and wish Charis a wonderful birthday. Awww, Max He's definitely in the right place, glad it's making him feel stronger each day.
  19. Sorry for not replying sooner Jules. Poor Ollie Pixie sometimes seems to be weak in her back legs. She's a 10 year old greyhound. I couldn't work out if it's one leg or both, it seems to be either leg. It only happens when she's walking and never in the house. She defintely seems to do it more after she's been in the car (she insists on standing up so that must make her more wobbly when she gets out) and she also seems to do it more when she's very tired or when she's bored on her walk. The best way I can describe it would be to say it looks a bit like people do when someone nudges them in the back of the knee and they sort-of wobble. I panicked and thought it was CDRM but I was told by an orthopaedic vet that he's only ever known it to occur in GSDs. My own vet couldn't really determine any issues. Neither could another vet at the same surgery. Then the orthopaedic vet said it was most likely a compressed disc in her lower back. Then another vet said it was muscle weakness. What I don't understand is that if it's a disc problem, she can still very happily run like a loon up the stairs and jump in the car She isn't in pain because I'd certainly know about it if she was. The last vet we saw said to increase the pace of our walk then slow it down, then increase it and so on. Since I've been doing that, she's much more alert during her walks and is less wobbly. I've also been doing very short spurts of running with her on the lead, so she can really stretch all muscles but under control. It's not easy with a greyhound but, again, it seems to be making a difference. I'm hoping it's more likely that her muscles weren't as exercised as they once were because her recall had deteriorated so she was much more lead-bound. At the moment she's doing ok. I hope Monday's outcome a good one and it's hopefully something very simple to resolve or control. Just a quick mention about the GA, you could check that your vet uses Rapinovet. It's the one they normally use for sighthounds or those that take a while to recover after. I think many vets use it as standard now but it's probably worth checking. Good luck
  20. Sounds like he's picking up again after his busy week. Great to hear he's feeling a bit better
  21. It's amazing at how tearful you can get about a dog (and his hooman) that you've never met I'm so totally happy that Max is home with you all and can get back to life as he knows it!
  22. I really hope he can come home later but if he can't he might be very snoozy anyway and just sleep tonight so will feel better for you to collect in the morning. Fingers crossed the transfusion goes well. I have Ronnie registered with Dog Blood Donors so he can help dogs like Max if he's ever needed. Please take a look and if any of your dogs meet the criteria, please register them because you just don't know when your dog could help someone else's
