  1. Poor you- you will be laughing about it soon and until then at least you can vent to people on here I have come home really chuffed a few times over the last week and my oh just doesnt want to hear me describing the sensation of holding a pt's head whilst the neuro surgeon drilled a hole through their skull to fit an ICP bolt, or describing in great detail to him what happened during a 'beating heart' organ donation that i was involved in from start to finish- i get so enthusiastic and want to tell the story but he just stands there horrified
  2. so glad your enjoying it and it really does fly by- im in my last 4 1/2 weeks and have got my job sorted BUT- ive got 1 last assignment, which is why im still up and have not yet been to bed, i have to have it done by friday
  3. Sounds fantastic- you will have a great time. I have ridden western and it is great fun but totally different in a good way I have also ridden side saddle and i loved it- i would recommend it for your next adventure Sorry- that was of no help what so ever was it?
  4. I too used to use this, if i remember correctly it used to go a milky colour if it was wee'd on then dried off clear again- it was really easy to use and dried quickly and i used it on vinyl floor and quarry tiles
  5. Mighty good effort with the Clavicle supafrisk Here's hoping that you are both feeling better soon
  6. LOL- I will be the one sat facing the wall in the corner with a cone shaped hat brandishing a capital D
  7. Wasn't the rat killing used to show /demonstrate some of the natural instincts still in the domestic dogs?
  8. well done, i hope you are successful. I will keep my fingers crossed
  9. Duke is 'supposed' to be tough and hard as nails, but my oh had took him to a local park for a quick stroll round- it was pitch black when they got there. They both got out the van and then my oh heard a strange noise in the bushes, he turned to make sure his 'protector' was close at hand and couldn't see him- on further investigation he found Duke curled up, hiding in the foot well of the pasenger seat shaking and he wouldn't get out again He's the kind of dog who will bark from behind you- and then let you take the flak on your own Rio loves everyone and would be more likely to hold the door open for any 'would be' robber Dudley would just put his head down and wee
  10. OUCHY!!!!! here's wishing him a fast recovery
  11. I dont think there is anything cuter than an Am bull pup Fantastic pics
  12. I used to have a woollen hand made rug- was very expensive, my old greyhound x lab got a brain tumour and proceeded to pizz all over it- we tried everything we could find inside and then took it out side and did it with the hose pipe and then as a last resort we power washed it- and it still bloomin stunk, so we took it to the tip and bought a new 'cheaper' one, but every time ive put it down we either get a new dog or one of them gets a jippy tum or a wound with a drain and it now seems to live in the corner all rolled up- but it is wonderfully clean and fresh smelling
  13. OOOHHH MYYYYYYY I may just have to volunteer to rub them down afterwards- with a really small towel
  14. Dudley hid the Kong Flyer right in the middle of this puddle and it took them ages to try and get it out again

Ha Ha- Those 3 years are not quite over just yet- i have 1 last assignment to do - 3,000 word report on leadership, management and quality which is placement related, i am on intensive care so doing it on methods of acurate 30 degree head of bed tilt measurement and have to demonstrate theoretically the problem, methods of measuring and how to instigate the recommended changes. i have currently done 0 words and it has to be handed in by the 29th All i can think at the moment is- it better be worth it!!!!!
  18. Such a shame for her- she sounds such a sweetie I'm definately not an expert, but you are keeping a close eye on her and as long as she can get food, water ect when she needs it and is able to get where she needs/wants to go then in my opinion she should be ok. You will be able to see when she is no longer able to cope

Thank you all I know i will definately enjoy it- i worked there for 3 years before starting my training, but i dont know which hospital i will be at yet- there are 2 sites for the trust. there is 1 that gets all the trauma and is where i worked before, and the other gets more of the minor injuries. So i have to be patient and wait to see where i will be going - I will put up a warning to all local fugees of which hospital to avoid nearer the time On an interesting note- i had to hold a patients head steady the other day, whilst a hole was drilled through their skull, with a squeaky hand drill- very strange sensation, but i do love stuff like that
  20. I wonder if it will create an influx of pedigree dogs being dumped at rescue's
  21. I have found this programme rather difficult to watch so far. I am fully aware that the worst of the cases will be the ones that are being shown, but feck me- i don't know how the breeders of these dogs can sleep at night.
