Does Anyone Feed A Senior Diet Or Large Breed Food...
phoenix replied to Tempest's topic in Animal Chat
i feed my 17yr old senior food (james welbeloved or burns) because she is prone to cystitis, and according to my vet, senior food has less protein in it for less active dogs, she hasn't had cystytis since the swap, over a year now, hence no vet bills, so its worked for my dog -
welcome to the refuge, congrats on your new addition

I've still got this game, when i showed it to my kids they just gave me that, 'you've got to be joking' look, but what made me laugh is that they couldn't play it, they blamed the bad joystick

my mums dog loves his kong, shaped as a dumbbell, because he can get his teeth around the middle bit and shake it as violently as he can & he spends hours chewing it, because it is a kong, you can also fill it with food,

a lot of people have no idea what goes on 'behind the scenes' to help animals in this situation. some people show no emotion because when they hand in a dog to a local kennel they expect it to be rehomed locally, if not it will live there until it finds a home, they have no idea that places still exist that have a 10 day limit then PTS, the amount of people that assume, EVERY rescue/kennels has a no kill policy is surprising, or that dogs are transported around, just to give them that extra chance, you'd also be surprised the amount of people who have never heard of Internet forums dedicated to animal rescues. some people are genuinely ignorant to the reshuffling that we do, just to make room for one more pooch
