  1. Hehe, if you do it to Ria she starts rolling around on the floor pretending to bite you...
  2. What a b*tch. Hope she gets what's coming to her.
  3. You just want to blow a raspberry on it don't you?
  4. They're a strange pair... Don't know about lucky... I don't mean to keep getting more dogs... they just kind of happen.
  5. I have a suspicion somebody's been sneaking her steroids....
  6. Yep, time for an installment of gratuitous and unnecessary photos of my rabble in the garden. Roxy (or her new nickname, Piggy MooOOOoon!) Why is it Connie always looks like she's up to something evil? Roxy finally manages to jump onto the swing chair after being bashed in the face on her first attempt. As you can see she was rather pleased with herself. Much grunting followed. Ria thinks she can get up with my mum and Roxy too. She is wrong. Her legs don't bend in the right directions... Connie and Wilbur. Since we got Roxy, Ria's suddenly become extremely muscular and has grown lots of shiny new fur. The only thing I can think of is that Ria's happier now Roxy's taken over being top dog? I seriously can't get over how muscley she's got... Retreivers versus Bull breeds... who will triumph? Lets play "Who Can Not Look At The Camera For The Longest"! And a few to show how much hairier and less pot bellied she is already.
  7. Look at those faces, there's nothing better than a... mature Labrador.
  8. Looks like my kind of party! They're all beautiful though.
  9. No, you're absolutely right - if she'd felt the need to defend herself and acted on it, she would have been the one on death row. And you can imagine that the kind of parents to let their child treat a dog like that would be the first to point the blame. That's why I gave them such an earful, and I've learned from it because I'd never tie her up for a few seconds now - literally I was a few feet away and it still could have been disastrous, so it goes to show you can never be too careful. You can't trust other people not to be idiots and put themselves in a dangerous position.
  10. I know what you mean. I remember I'd once tied Connie to the van at an agility class for a few mins whilst I helped carry some equipment (wouldn't normally but she was only a few feet away). Within seconds this little boy had run over and started jumping around in front of her making barking noises, she was at the end of her lead terrified but trying her best to scare him off by barking and snapping. The boy was very close to an obviously very scared and probably likely to bite dog, and his parents were standing by laughing! Needless to say I had a go at them and told them their son could have easily been bitten, they didn't seem to have much to say...
  11. Glad poor little George is feeling better now.
  12. Don't let her hear you say that... She's already resting her head on my knee and making a noise like an airoplane taking off.
  13. Getting along brilliantly still, I think the lack of photos may be due to her moving very fast nowadays so they tend mostly to be of her arse... On walks she just strides forwards very quickly, and never goes around any obstacles. She'll go striaght through puddles (even if they're deeper than she is tall) and if any of the dogs are in her way she just headbutts them till they move aside! I'll have to take some more, I think she's looking less pot bellied so I can get a second opinion. The only problem is her grunting keeps me awake, and she keeps shuffling around. Also if you stop stroking her she starts prodding you with her nose... oh well.
  14. Thanks. She tells me cuddles and lots of treats help too, as would sleeping the night in my bed. I don't know if she's taking advantage...
  15. Not quite. Roxy was attacked by another dog on our walk today (now what dog would pick on a poor old girl with cushings?) and although she stuck up for herself by running after him swearing (even when he was attached to her back and at one point, had her entire back leg in his mouth) she never once even tried to make contact or bite the other dog. Actually as soon as he'd stopped going for her she was being rather friendly towards him. She definately wasn't going to take any nonsense from this young hooligan at her age, and gave him a good piece of her mind without actually laying a tooth on him, she's such a good girlie. She's quite bruised and sore, with a few grazes (mostly aound the nipple area which can't be nice) but there's nothing too serious.
  16. I always use an empty chinese takeaway container, the plastic ones? Or at work we use a kidney dish and then just pour it into the pot. With Roxy I have to go out first thing in the morning and chase her around the garden with it!
  17. Black Holes and Revelations, by Muse. I could listen to it all day... wait, I do. Especially the tracks Starlight and Supermassive Black Hole.
  18. You're right - I know that you should never grab dogs that are fighting, but I'd do it rather than nothing everytime. When my dogs have been attacked, dog fights at work or the first time Connie attacked a dog before she was muzzled, I just grabbed her and pulled her off. Luckily for me I've never been bitten yet, but it'd be my fault if I was. If you haven't got a hose or something handy there isn't all that much you can do. I generally grab the attacking dog just in front of the hips from behind, they don't seem to be able to swing round quick enough to get you then. I really hope the poor boxer is alright though...
  19. It's some of the comments that I can't beleive...
  20. I'm the 4th one from the left, in the grey top - Again I'm on the left - This is me at Halloween, I'm the nurse
  21. Hi, I work at the Evesham DT and Suggs is a really lovely, friendly boy who would make a wonderful companion - only thing is I'm not sure how trustwrthy he would be around the small animals. If anyone is interested though we could do a test with our cat.
  22. Hope he gets better asap. Lurcher skin is the worst design flaw ever... Connie did the same thing to Ria once. They were just playing and Ria suddenly had a massive tear down her side that needed 13 staples!
  23. Aw, I can see why you couldn't resist.
