  1. By default they do But as with access to any forum, the PM facility can be withdrawn for individual members
  2. It should mean that your email providor took a dislike to one of the email addresses that you are sending. But if it is outlook express that is giving the error what it should mean is open to interpretation. Usually that message has more wording that that and the extra wording often tells the full story.
  3. A point aobut cars without power steering. THey were MUCH easier to steer than cars with power steering that has failed. This is because you only had to move the steering mechanism. Now you have to move both the steering mech and the power steering assembly which makes it a lot heavier. I wouldn't want it to fail while driving at any speed that's for sure! If you find yourself in a car park with a lot of space try it... drive along slowly and kill the engine... then try to steer. (Remember doing this also reduced the effectiveness of your brakes...)
  4. Tippy Hound would appriciate a bit of Reiki if there is some spare We got home today to find him crying with pain because he seems to have pulled something in his shoulder. He is a bit better now for some metacam bit we would appriciate any Reiki and good thoughts THanks
  5. THis thread reminded me to dig out my tick remover cos I'm off to the lakes next week! Tippy is being frontlined today in preparation too. I'm sure the first (and no pruned) thread about ticks mentioned some stuff that you can buy that actually stops the tick attaching in the first place - any ideas anyone?
  6. Personally, I think they have their place in the Jaffa Cake family - -just perfect for picking at when you don't have time for a serious jaffa cake eating session... But are they good jaffa or am I a heretic for liking them?
  7. There is a rogue line break in the code near the newindex19 image - it is easy to identify those because if you use CTRL + mousewheeel to change the text size the gap between that image and the one above increases. I should be asleep now but if you don't get chance to sort it I'll have a nose tomorrow
  8. If you are looking to get on delivered you can get them online for less than that...
  9. It does depend on the make, there are more ones you would want rather than ones to avoid like the plague. I would expect those monitors to be fairly good at that price - so if they are not then it is too much. Rather than brand you need to look at features. Native resolution - this defines the size of the image on screen. I would expect both to be 1280x1024 (if the 17 is a 1024x768 it is way overpriced) Response time - 12ms would be a maximum. Ideally nearer 8ms Contrast Ratio - 500:1 or better (better being 600:1) Also look at the warranty, specifically dead pixels... some will not replace it if one of the pixels dies (annoying red dot....)
  10. Are you in MSN later? Got a few questions...
  11. If you don't mind 32Gb partitions you could format the drive as FAT32 and then the mac and pc could both read all partitions... Can't think of any technical limitations to having on NTFS and one HFS partition though.
  12. Helped people with this loads of times at work Here is what I do - kind of ties up with Ricks post. Open the file from the email (CHeck your changes are not already there, depending on setup sometimes they will be... If not...) Click file > Save as CHANGE THE FILENAME TO SOMETHING ELSE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!! The save it. You have just saved the file in the location where the other one will be No close the file then click File > Open Word will now be looking at the folder where your file is, so the docuemnt with the same filename as the one in the email should contain your changes. Open it and the save it somewhere memorable
  13. Do it with the other power supply, then you are not shorting anything worth dreading
  14. Sounds like the hard drive light is the red one (Maybe...) Have you disconnected power from the hard drive?
  15. Sure fire way to test your power supply is to short out two of the pins on the main power connector to the mainboard. These pins are always in the place - you should have a green and black wire next to each other - one will be pin 14. Remove the connector, get a small piece of wire and short the two pins. If the power suppy comes on it is probably working fine. Do it first with nothing else connected up, then add the drives afterwards. When going down to bare config you can also go as far as removing the video card. Your computer should beep once when you power it on as a signal that the power on self test has passed. Removing the video card should force it to give a faliure beep code. Also powering on with the memory removed should give a faliure beep code. We can go down to the point where all that is connected is the power supply, mainboard and CPU. Depending on the CPU there is another thing you can try - do you know what CPU you have?
  16. Glad you got it sorted. It was in my mind that hercules GF2's were always a dit dicky in ME when I asked what card you have.... Well most things were a bit dicky to be honest but hercules stuff more so. I've got one of those, they are quite good aren't they. I have recently watercooled my pc and now I can overclock the crap out of the CPU and VGA without seeing the temperature on any of it clear 40 degrees. Which is nice. I remember the days of the dual voodoo 2 where SLI meant something different and provided exactly double the framerates/3d power (not the case any more )
  17. Exactly what model geforce 2 is it? Also is it agp or pci?
  18. A British company is developing computer chips that store music in women's breast implants. This is a major breakthrough because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.
  19. It's a good one isn't it! Feels so much cooler now, and the right time of day too because the sun shouldn't have time to heat stuff up again... (hoping!) We're right on top of the hill at the back of Kimberley so we have had a fair few lightening strikes nearby. We've got the water tower about 200 yards away and the tv transmitter a few hundred more. Love it Although the one that woke me up last night wasn't nice!
  20. Nice one on Dreamweaver - but you don't pick an easy package to get started on!
  21. Currently sat under the moteher of all storms. It is now in it's second hour. Tippy is not at all happy. It is disturbing his sleep!
  22. What version of windows and internet explorer do you have? It would help greatly in advising of a solution
