  1. A bit more about Tess: Due to previous neglect, unfortunately Tess had severe damage to both ears and both ear canals were so badly damaged and were full of thickened skin, lumps and sores that she needed total canal ablations on both sides, ie. both ear canals needed to be removed. Tess's ears before the op: She is a lovely friendly girl, everybody who meets her falls in love with her. She is wonderful with other dogs and she has such a gentle nature, she loves to be cuddled up close! Tess with Pru, the specialist who did such a wonderful job. It was difficult to get this photo as Tess wouldn't keep still, she was so exited to see her fosterers! Just after the op. looking so much better. Tess is now a happy and comfortable girl. Her hearing is no worse than it was before (although limited) and she is so much happier, no more itchiness and soreness. All she needs now is a forever home
  2. Taken off the RDR forum and written by Bernie: Collected this cheeky madam this morning and being locked in a boarded up house certainly hasn't dampened her spirit. She's an active, lead grabbing, squirmy, barky, bouncy typical Staffy Girl. Thought at first I was going to have to sing along with her yodelling, but she eventually settled till we arrived with Aunty Sue, when again she became very active and wriggly. Emma took her out of the crate on a slip lead, well what do Staffy's do with leads? put them in their mouths of course. I put her a new collar on and attached a lead, little madam then carried the slip lead in her mouth. She's not as thin as I expected, but she tucked readily into her dinner, so she should soon be up to weight. I'm putting all piccies up so you can see what a little madam she is, she's gorgeous. On arrival, lemme down now. What's up there then? Hey, I'm talking to you missus! Now let me get that lead.
  3. Flower has a rescue space and will be going to Auntie Sue and into her house for some extra special TLC
  4. I don't actually meet all the pound dogs but I did meet these three as the "pound" scanner had broke and I went up to lend them mine. It was the day after these 3 had come in, they were scanned and the owner was rang whilst I was there, he came for them the same day. All three were lovely dogs
  5. It appears that these were 2 of the 3 Rotties that we had in a couple of weeks ago They were all very friendly but very nervous (especially the one we didn't know the name of, he was too nervous to scan). The other 2 were chipped and so all 3 were claimed. They were called Ariel, Troy and we never got the name of the 3rd They had apparently at the time been worrying sheep, why oh why don't these bloody owners learn That poor poor horse Troy: No. 1374: Rottweiler, male, approximately 3-4 years old. Name Unknown: No. 1375: Rottweiler, male, approximately 3-4 years old. Ariel: No. 1376: Rottweiler, female, approximately 3-4 years old.
  6. I know but I don't know what to do to stop it. The RSPCA were apparently involved in getting her out of the house but haven't and aren't taking things any further
  7. Thank you safneo, we really don't want to put her in boarding as she needs some extra TLC (she is under 5 kgs bless her ) so we are looking for a foster home for her. The "pound" forgot to tell me about her and I only found out on Friday when she came in on Monday so they have said that they will hang on to her a little longer as it was their mistake. The only thing is that her owners turned up today wanting her back but couldn't afford the fine. I am dreading them coming back so might need to move her as soon as I can anyway
  8. Could this happen without you knowing about it?? I have been a bit worried lately about the amount of spam e-mails I have been getting and somebody as work said something about somebody using my e-mail as spam??
  9. I never insist on anything
  10. If you seriously want to know I will PM you
  11. They will only take back within 28 days of the dog being homed

  13. Can't remember for sure but I "think" it could have been Mel (Rumpole)???
  14. Uuuum, Mel (aka Rumpole) is probably the closest fugee at approx. 20 miles away?? Just realised kittycat is probably slightly closer, as below. Irons is in Tameside and you are only about 11 miles away from me, I should know as I have to drive to bloomin Tameside every bloody day
  15. Just one week in good hands makes all the difference From this: To this: And This: To this:
  16. Forgot to say............out of hours in the areas we work with is only up to 10pm as in this statement: Across East Lancashire (including, Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, Rossendale, Burnley, Ribble Valley and Pendle) you can use your normal Dog Warden Service during 9am to 5pm Mondays to Fridays. If you find a dog during the hours of 5pm - 10pm (Monday - Friday) and 10am - 4pm (Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays) you can ring your local councils out of hours service who will give you the relevant information to deal with the dog. Outside of those hours....................???? With regards to Rochdale, the area I live in, I don't have a clue what's happening BUT I would never have taken a dog to Rochdale Police Station anyway and I know that the police did try to dissuade people from leaving dogs there due to the state of the kennels.
  17. No, from what I believe the Dog Wardens will work the same hours as before but rather than members of the public taking the dogs to police stations they will have to go to allocated kennels instead (in our areas they will go to the kennel who had the police contracts anyway). So, I don't think it will affect us much except that the kennels are a long way to go to for some of the areas who the "pound" we work with deal with, this means that people may hold onto the dogs for the dog wardens to collect instead, which means that they will come to us instead of the other kennels so maybe slightly more dogs will come in?? The police will still be taking details of lost and found dogs
  18. He is feeling very insulted because he is a she and she's still bloody there I think it's because it blows warm air out at that spot

  21.
