  1. Thank you for replying Suzeanna I was so worried about him as he set off Chiro guy has done some work on him which will hopefully help. Poor woman finding out she had pneumonia
  2. That's a good idea Victoria - and there was me telling her the OC was sorted. Oops
  3. Julia, very sorry to hear about Darren's job Thinking of Pickle and his mum Have so much to do but Rob's just gone off to see his chiropractor as he's got a pain around his chest (bruised rib feeling) and I'm worried about him so not managing to focus on much else at the moment. Really hope he is ok.
  4. Hello Ruby, glad you managed to sign up Hope someone on here will be able to take you up on your generous offer Angela
  5. I'll see how they get on They will still be having Naturediet too as I'm just not keen feeding them only dry food (and yes I know people say a complete food should just be fed on its own but I wouldn't want them to just eat brown pellets). I do add things to the dry food often too, bit of yoghurt, cottage cheese, our leftovers, smoked salmon trimmings etc. If I fed them lamb breast I think it would be my guts that were being worked on I really can't bear raw meat and am still working myself up to one day giving it a go. Anne, I tried ordering from Zooplus before (not Orijen, something else) but they ran out of stock and failed to tell me while I sat waiting for a delivery and I was then without dog food so it put me off. Thanks for the ideas/comments Rob's not hugely interested in discussing dog food (whatever you think is best dear is usually the response ) so tis nice to have someone that is to talk to
  6. An update in case anyone else is remotely interested The dogs have been very happy to eat the Fish4Dogs, their poos are good, coats look great etc., so no complaints. Not sure they look/seem any different than they were on the Arden Grange but I like the higher meat (fish) content of the Fish4Dogs one. Really pleased with their treats, we've been using the little star treats and I also bought a box of the fish skin bones which they absolutely love. Have decided to give Orijen a go next as I do very much like the sound of it and I've always wanted to try it for them - I do hope it's as good as I've been told I shall report back in a few weeks when they've got through the rest of the Fish4Dogs and started on the Orijen Then I shall decide whether to stick with one of the new ones or go back to Arden Grange I guess. I would really like in theory to feed them raw, I just can't yet face it and we barely have the freezer storage space for our own food.
  7. It's posting weird messages about a dodgy looking job site - just had an apparent message from you posted on my facebook wall. You may well already be aware, just thought I would post in case (will PM you too) If anyone else gets a message, may I suggest you don't visit the link!
  8. Sending lots and lots of good thoughts for Pickle :GroupHug:
  9. Am closing this one now as the situation is no longer urgent - a thread will be started for Jerry in due course
  10. I know of a little boy who sounds very similar. He's about four now I think and I gather a little small for his age and he will have to have further surgery in future, but from what I have heard things sound so much better than they looked before he was born. Laura, I really hope things work out similarly for your sister's baby
  11. I think I'd feel uncomfortable, I don't suppose my hubby would be too impressed and I'd wonder what the other guy's wife thought/whether she even knew ... but you'd already exchanged gifts previously (you got bracelets, he got alcohol) seemingly without causing you concern, so why are you feeling differently this time?
  12. I'd missed your previous update Tracy and reading the latest, it sounds as though he has made brilliant progress in those few weeks Well done Nog and everyone taking care of you
  13. That's exactly Sno's approach at times Looks as though things are going well
  14. Alex and family Well done Wiggle Had to go to church this morning Really wanted to do Westonbirt so am going to see if Rob and I can get over there soon. Hope everyone had a great walk
  15. Sorry Jules, I misunderstood I thought you were saying he was regularly messing during the night and then walking around in it all. :GroupHug:
  16. Could someone post the doglost link please?
  17. I know it's not fun getting up in the night - been there - I was just thinking it might be preferable for both of you if he took the chance to toilet outside, rather than finding him in a mess in the morning. The puppy pens I mentioned give them more room than a crate and there's no "ceiling" to them like there is a crate, but they do stop them from covering a whole room. Anyway, was just a thought Sorry if you've already covered this Jules but have you tried giving him anything to relax him at night to see if that might help settle him? A DAP, rescue remedy, scullcap and valerian, combination of the three? Sweetie seemed to turn a tad nocturnal with her nighttime wanderings, bless her.
  18. Sorry Jules, just catching up with this thread. I'm so sorry to hear of how things are, I wish I could wave a magic wand and make everything ok I bought my first crate when Sweetie started going downhill as she was wandering around at night - it was more for her safety than anything as she was getting off the armchair (that she'd bagged as soon as she came home!) the wrong way and getting stuck by the computer etc. She did settle in it but I sat and gave her Reiki to help her relax/go off to sleep. If the crate wouldn't work, you can get puppy pens which would probably be ok for him, of differing heights. I bought one for Mins for the garden which she used for two minutes on the first day, shame you're not closer and you could have borrowed it. I think it cost about £35 plus delivery so not too expensive. Just a thought. Would it be worth you setting an alarm a few times during the night and coming down to see if he needs to go out? Like you do with a young pup - not fun to have sleep disturbed I know but preferable to all the mess for both of you? I had a Max-alarm if Sweetie got into difficulty so came down to that. Would he be more likely to settle if he were up with you? I don't know if you can carry him upstairs, then you'd know when he woke, to take him out for the toilet? Keeping you both in my thoughts
  19. Poor man and dog Shocking amount of ignorance just from those few comments under the article too. Since when? Now Mr SSPCA, there's a great way to put people off adopting crossbreeds from rescue eh
  20. Just saw on the BBC site that his extradition has been put on hold as new psychiatric evidence is considered - link.
