Tobleronie
For my birthday on Thursday I have invited my ex daughter-in-law's sister and her children over for lunch since she has not been able to see my grandchildren for over 6 months since their mother ran off with them. So besides that I am at a total loss as to what to do for lunch I don't want to spend all morning cooking and having lost the plot as to what children eat am struggling There will be 3 adults, and children of the ages, 6 years, 5 years, 7 years and 13 years. All advice gratefully received
merledogs
BBQ if the weather is nice. Alternatively, how about a Tapas type scenario? Or else a buffet with different salads, etc. All bought in of course

blackmagic
all types of crisps and other munchies. mini pizzas, small size beefburgers, small sandwiches with egg, tuna, marmite, jam. Sometimes supermarkets have buffet selections in the freezer. If having a desert - Small containers with jelly in, chocolate fingers, small biscuits like iced gems, cupcakes or muffins. crispy cornflake or rice crispiescakes. Some smarties or maltesers in a bowl. Some fruit salad, a cheesecake. Children like to take lots of little things. For the adults maybe some cooked chicken wings or thighs and salad stuff. If you google children's buffets you may find some suggestions Edited August 13, 2010 by blackmagic
