lester
Well they say there is nothing new under the sun. Many years ago I spent considerable time doing research in the British Library . Family history , you understand- one of my ancestors was an established "pure" dealer for the tanning trade. ( not much change there either really) One of the articles I came across in a neswpaper expressed deep concern for the number of young men , who in parts of London were using vicious looking dogs in order to intimidate people. I wish I could remember the exact date but it was around 1803 and it was a copy of the Times

Ian
Obviously a very well researched & informed piece of "journalism" - supported by some very intelligent & equally informed comment too - knives, antifreeze, bleach - I thought the times was supposed to be read more commonly by the more articulate & middle & upper class type reader?
