Dead dogs found dumped in East London

The RSPCA is appealing for information after three dogs were found dumped in East London last week, two dead and one in an appalling condition.

Puppy found dead

A bull terrier-type puppy, aged around nine weeks old, was found dead with his ears and tail cut off in Neville Close, Wanstead E11.

The puppy, which was found by workmen clearing a small communal garden near to houses in the area, was extremely thin and a post mortem revealed that his ears and tail had been cut off after death.

A second dog found dead

At the same time an adult male bull terrier-type dog was found dead in nearby Sheriden Road, Forest Gate E7. A post mortem showed that the dog had died of starvation.

RSPCA Inspector Dawn Avery said: "These dogs have clearly been neglected and then dumped. It is appalling that people think it is acceptable to treat dogs in this way."

Bulldog found in appalling condition

The following day on Tuesday, 15 January 2008 a five-year-old female bulldog was found abandoned in an appalling condition on the tow path of the River Lea at Dobbs Weir, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire near London E11.

The dog is suffering from a serious skin condition resulting in very red sore feet, making it difficult for her to walk. The skin condition is also affecting her face, chest and neck.

The dog was collected by RSPCA Inspector Simon Osbourne and is now in RSPCA care and receiving veterinary treatment for her skin condition.

Inspector Osbourne said: "This poor dog was in tremendous discomfort. We would like to hear from anyone with any information on who dumped her."

Anyone with any information on any of these dogs is asked to contact the RSPCA in confidence on the 24-hour cruelty and advice line: 0300 1234 999.

Maybe if we focused on these scumbag owners instead of dogs who havent done anything wrong, we will "take a step in the right direction"

RIP pups :(

Awful. I heard something about that on the local LBC news yesterday but I was only half listening and they didn't repeat it in the next bulletin, did a web search but couldn't find anything.
