Liver and white male (entire) ESS found wandering at 3.30am this morning in the New Bilton area of Rugby.

Very friendly (and wet!). Is wearing a beige canvas clip together type canac collar, no tags on it

Was handed in to Rugby police station and is being kept in their kennels

Approximate age of dog 5-8 years.

List of springers listed as "lost" on doglost: http://www.doglost.co.uk/search.asp?page2=...mp;x=16&y=1

No idea where Rugby is in relation to DY12, but lost dogs travel and this boy went missing in December, aged 5, no mention of collar but he's been missing over a month ... http://www.doglost.co.uk/forum.asp?ID=11832

I couldn't post on Doglost, I was hoping to catch up with Owl

It's not Herbert from Dudley, the first thing I did was check on Doglost via mobile phone and this male could have been older than 5 as his teefs at the back were quite stained but he had no visible greying or whitening of fur and his eyes were very clean and clear.

This male has a large liver saddle extending all the way to his bum and Herbert has like a liver spot on his near hindquarter.

I think it's someone local, as I do see an ESS across the road in the park quite frequently, so will ring the police for an update in a moment.

TBH I wasn't overly keen on handing over the dog to the police but as he was entire, I didn't want to take a risk with Willow and O/H would have had a fit.

I didn't realise that the dog warden only operates between office hours in this area and doesn't come out at the weekends
