bebe
How do I know what size pics are allowed? All mine keep being resized, and the ones resized of George were in the " allowance" of what size they should be, Ive just gone through the threads and there are LOADS of pics that are huge, much bigger than mine, so I dont understand why mine are always messed about with Ok, if it was the same for ALL pics on the forums, but its not, am I missing something here
Wendbert
Bebe, its not just you, its any pics which are huge. As I said in my PM to you, preferrable under 600 pixes across. As I also said, you can resize them in Photobucket. We can't look at every single post but when we do come acros huge pics they will get changed to a link. There are a lot of people who are on dial up or slower connections and viewing posts with huge pics is a nightmare if you don't have a fast connection. DanishPastry
Wendy, I have seen it in writing somewhere recently, that up to 640 wide is allowed.
PamJade
The pix sizes are listed in the board guidelines which are on a link at the top of every page. 11. Posting pictures - Gore/shock-fest/explicit pics and porn are unacceptable. The maximum size for images is 640 x 480. You can check an image's size by right clicking on the image and selecting 'properties'. If you wish to refer to a larger image, write a short description and link to the image, including a reference to the full image size if possible. Any images above 640 pixels wide WILL be deleted or, if the staff has time, changed to a link. Pictures below this size will be removed at the moderator’s discretion if it is felt the user is going overboard with pictures, this is to ensure users on dial up do not have their use of the board spoiled by slow loading pages. Please respect copyright. I think yours may get resized a lot cos they are often on popular threads, we don't have a checklist of every thread it just isn't possible so inevitably the quieter threads get missed. (edited to add - Sorry Wendy, posting at the same time)

Kerrio
WHenever I see pics bigger than 640 wide I resize them. However (and I know this is a bit shocking) .... I don't read every thread! (And I don't think any of the mod team does - though I may be mistaken! ) We absolutely do not pick on any one - its just a case of "as we see them" - if your pics are getting resized more frequently than others - it probably means your posts are being read more. Noo, I didnt think I was being picked on, I thought maybe I was seeing them differently this end, or something, like when we see the different skins etc Or that people were sick of seeing badly taken photos I dont even know what a pixel is, really But I will try harder Miss The pix sizes are listed in the board guidelines which are on a link at the top of every page. 11. PamJade
I dont even know what a pixel is, really But I will try harder Miss Pixels are the little icky dots of colour that make up the picture. The guidlines say right click & select properties and you can see how many of them you have. As long as it's less than 640x480 of them don't worry about exactly what they are! Kerrio
No way am I sitting there counting little dots to see if theres more than 640x480 Why not? Thats what I have to do! (ok - sometimes I do a right -click on the picture and look at the properties, but that's cheating) One thing to remember is that how big pics look on your screeen relatively depends on the resolution you are using. Mine is *quite* low as my eyesight just ain't that good, other people have HUGE screens with high resolution, so big pics just don't *look* so big. Hope that helps. cycas
Yes, all the Refuge pics tend to look fairly tiny to me, as I have a high resolution screen and good eyesight. Personally I'd prefer larger pics, but these things are always a compromise: you can't make everyone happy!
Kerrio
Also - unbelievable though this may seem, there actually people out there still on (whisper it) dial-up. *faints*
