  1. I don't know if you should or should not feel like you do; but I'd feel the same way. I think the general rule of thumb is 2 years before really starting to recover from major grief. for you; he would have known you loved him.
  2. and, I think a minimum of 6 months has to have elapsed since a dog had a lepto booster (so probably 6 months since annual boosters) to enter Australia?
  3. Congratulations Danny, and happy birthday
  4. Totally agree with you Victoria. Also, some UK homeless dogs are rehomed to other countries, e.g. USA and Europe; and many Spanish homeless dogs are re-homed outside their country borders, e.g. to Holland, etc.
  5. Belated happy birthday Laura, hope you had a fab day
  6. Thanks, think the site was down when initially she tried (she had the correct site details) . The good news is .... Peg has been found - "Peg is home safe. My friend has just rung to say that earlier today someone who lives down the road had been out with her dog and seen a 'lurcher found' poster and had come to tell her. Margaret rang the number and Peg was with the lady and her alsation dog. She had taken her in as she had seen her on the road narrowly being missed by a couple of cars While we have been worrying she has been eating tuna and tongue Thankyou to all those that have cross posted for me"
  7. The only coat I can easily persuade Millie to wear is the unlined w'proof ones from Jan's Gifts, I think I got a size bigger than she needs too, although they are generously cut. She refuses to move in most other coats. scroll down to DC2H Agree you'll probably need made to measure for Az
  8. O/P has been trying to register on d/l, apparently there were some site problems earlier: if she's not already done so she will be as soon as she's able; thanks.
  9. Lurcher girl, Leeds Thank you
  10. Cross-posted for Kirsty: "Name: Peg Sex: Bitch Breed: Rough coated lurcher Colour: Fawn and White Age: 8 Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes, registered to TIA Greyhound Rescue Collar: Black leather fishtail collar with red hearts. Peg lost her disc the day before she went missing but still has her collar on Distinguishing marks: Peg has no dew claws My friend has just contacted me to say her lurcher girl Peg has gone missing. She ran off from the fields behind their house yesterday in Methley, Leeds, LS26. She has done this recently and come home of her own accord quite soon or the last time was quickly handed in to nearby Springfield Kennels. My friend has rung the police, dog warden and local kennels and is trying everywhere. She thinks Peg keeps running off as she is on a diet and is going off in search of food although there have been travellers in the area passing though so she may be anywhere. She is very friendly with people and ok with other dogs unless they are boistorous. My friend Margaret is really upset and worried and i have met Peg and she is lovely. Please cross post this everywhere so Peg can come home safe If you have info please ring Margaret on 07523047602 or email Kirsty on [email protected] Thankyou"

    Incontinence

I've come across quite a few folk who've gone the drug route for incontinence and found it really helps. I've a feeling there may be an alernative to the Propalin, would be worth checking out. for you and the beautiful Tasha.
  13. Nice to see more pics of your two, Tracie; sorry not to have seen them in the flesh recently, not been able to attend recent WL walks ... will try harder!!
  14. Sweet dreams, Shadow, in the knowledge you were so well loved.
  15. That's interesting. So, if one were to click the link on your signature, Alison, and then either sign-up or buy something from one of the stores advertised there, you would be paid commission on any purchases made which qualified for commission payments, in very much the same way that if one buys from VetUk through the Beastly Beasts' link (which I do), then they get commission on those purchases made? I'm afraid I'm as useless at understanding the pyramid selling thing as you are at coping with the maths relating to your finances, so not sure if I've got that right
  16. sorry for your loss. sweet dreams little one.
  17. Hope he's well on the way to full recovery now Laura
  18. good choice of tent; we use that one for weekend camping. The sleeping area is large: I take loads of quilts that I lay over a couple of sleeping mats, 2 for myself, the dogs' quilts they lie on at home, plus assorted cheap/old sleeping bags that I use under/over dogs. The porch on the Avon tent has a peg down groundsheet, but the sleeping area is all in one g'sheet so no chance of dogs escaping. It is easy to put up. We have a much larger, stand-upable in tent for longer camping trips but that takes too long to put up for a weekend. Would suggest one of those 'thermos' style insulated, lidded mugs so you can take a hot drink back to your tent when you retire, but recall you'll be on the cold stuff Am sure you'll enjoy it.
  19. also agree with entire post (but as it's quite long thought best not to reproduce it all) Hope your interview went well Wendy & helps with awareness.
  20. Sorry Kenza has arthritis. I have been keeping my 30kg greyhound Millie (with arthritis is both wrists) mobile for about the past 4 years on one of these Glucosamine with Chondroitin and one of these Green Lipped Mussel Extract per day, both from the linked source as cheapest I've found so far.
  21. A very scary few moments here in Nottinghamshire, too. Wonder where the centre of the quake was?
  22. One skint chav here who bought one, Alison! and can attest to their beauty and high quality workmanship. so perhaps any name should be as meaningful for 'skint chavs' as well as the 'posh rich'
