  1. Flappy ears, sending semaphore messages perhaps? Still trying to work out what they were trying to tell me
  2. At least I'm not the only one with a bird-obsessed dog I think part of Sofy's problem is that since she caught a bird, she now thinks that she can do it again.
  3. What lovely bank holiday weather Got soaked walking the dogs.
  4. Sofy has a bit of a problem with birds. More than a bit, she's obsessed! About a month after she arrived, we were out on a walk with some other people and dogs and Sofy disappeared into a thick hedge and after a few minutes came out with a bird in her mouth. She brought it to me but refused to let go and ate it. Since then, I've noticed that Sofy is always watching birds while we're out but she's not caught another. However, the other day when we were on the Downs, she suddenly focused on something in the distance and shot off at high speed. I then saw a hawk or similar sized bird was hovering low over the ground and that's where she was heading! Next thing, there was a squawk from the bird and it flew off and Sofy looped round and came running back to where I was. When there are no birds in sight, Sofy's recall is excellent - she listens to me, comes back nearly every time (apart from the odd time she's found something to roll in!). For the rest of our walk, I put her back on lead but she was constantly looking out for birds. Any idea's how I can stop her going for birds?
  5. Apart from looking forward to a long weekend of doing not very much at all, I have no RMFs
  6. Lots of positive thoughts for Teddy from us
  7. House will be great once it's done I daren't comment about George, just in case he ends up in what will become my bedroom
  8. Just tomorrow to get through and then a lovely long weekend. I do love my job but I wish some days just weren't so manic
  9. Happy Birthday Sam! Hope you're having a fab & squirrelly day
  10. Morning Back to work after my long weekend..... at least its a short week
  11. Not any more. Sadly, Sir H can't walk very far these days so we apart from the green at the end of the road, we go to places where he can just hop out of the car, like Maude Heath. Great place for Sir H but no random strangers to waggle his bad paw at
  12. Hoping you find the perfect new home for Dharmarama
  13. Great photo's Maybe the strange eating position is a BumpyDog thing - Bumpy used to do the half-lay, bum in the air thing
  14. Sir H is a very special boy - 12 or 13 years old now, not very mobile, hops around on 3 legs most of the time and is not one for great displays of affection. Today, we all went up to Maude Heath so he could just hop across the lane and then be in the field. Seems Sir H was happy about this and decided to reward me with a rare cuddle: But soon, being the grumpy old chap he is, he decided enough was enough and went and found a very interesting blade of grass to sniff: Oh well, I thought. At least he's happy, doing his own thing. And doens't he look happy? Ah yes, this is more like it, the Sir H Glare that I've come to love!
  15. Home from transport run. All went well until the M4 came to a standstill just before junction 13, which was fortunate as I was able to come off and come home via Hungerford and Marlborough, so no delay for me Day off tomorrow
  16. Going to take the dogs up to Maude Heath now while its sunny. Its good for Sir H as he only has to walk across the lane into the field Then this afternoon, doing a Bath to Reading stretch of a transport run.
  17. Very pretty Sofy bids £5
  18. Like it! I'm viewing it via laptop so a smaller screen & I like that my view shows the photo and then the bar under, "Why are we here" etc which encourages you to scroll down.
