  1. Those puppies are hoooge and delicious I know you're feeling down at the moment but you do an amazing job hun x
  2. Madge can do a very awkward looking sit for a few seconds before she collapses and JoJo can do a reasonable sit, but it isn't really like other dogs sit....his bum doesn't touch the floor. Like someone else said it's like he's sitting on his feet But JoJo always does his sit if he thinks he'll get food, Madge does it by accident!!!!
  3. Ooh Sarah, what a gorgeous lurcher you have there Congratulations

  5. Nigel So sorry that it might be bad new for Pooch Don't beat yourself up that you can't be there for her, I'm sure she knows you care hun x And you didn't go on, you're just saying what you feel and I'm sure many of us have been in a similar position and know it helps to get it off your chest, especially when you have such a wait ahead of you. Will be keeping Pooch and all who love her in my thoughts and prayers x
  6. That's what I was getting at - she needs to act for the sake of her children. It wasn't a flippant "sort yourself out love" kind of remark. When my husband left me with crippling debt I was on the verge of depression....I was acting in a way completely out of character, I struggled to drag myself out of bed most days for a while but when I looked in the mirror and had a moment of clarity and I asked for help before things got too bad. The only thing that kept me going some days was my dog, I made myself get dressed and take him out for walks. As brammie says it seems so easy for famous people to just go through life without taking responsibility and no-one really pulling them up on it. It may not be front page news that Britney left rehab again, but people are interested otherwise it wouldn't be reported and we wouldn't be discussing it now. Does anyone else remember when she was seen with her baby on her lap while she was driving? If she really is suffering from some sort of illness then I do truly feel sorry for her, but I think maybe it's a case of too much too yung and she's struggling to cope. In which case she should bite the bullet and ask for help.
  7. Oh isn't she soooooooo ugly and horrid Are you sure this is for one night only?
  8. It was reported this morning that she has again left rehab - there are also reports that her ex husband has arranged an urgent court date. Sounds like he may be going for sole custody of the children. I do feel sorry for her, she really does seem to be in an awful state at the moment, but somehow she needs to pull herself together for her kids.....or she could lose them.
  9. I heard on the news today that she has checked back into rehab after only staying for one day last week. I do feel sorry for her because it does seem as if she has basically missed out on being a teen HOWEVER she has children to consider now so I hope she sticks at rehab this time and get herself sorted for their sakes.
  10. Wow That dog is stunning! I think I'm in love!
  11. To be honest, until I started coming onto forums like these I could have been classed as somone who "switched off". Things like poundies, cruelty etc made me feel sad but I didn't really understand how deep these things go and what can be done until I joined forums. I probably wasn't really looking passed my own dog (who I would have died for). Greyhound Gap was the first forum I joined and although I knew the world of greyhound racing was not a fantastic world where dogs were turned out onto sunny fields to live out their lives I wasn't aware of the true extent of what happens to these dogs and what goes on until then. Same thing applies to the poundie situation and I guess if I wasn't part of this forum I probably wouldn't know what's going on now with the amnesties and seizures of peoples pets. I don't so much think I wasn't really bothered, I just wasn't fully aware. And now I am I think about some of these issues an awful lot and spread what I know to anyone who will listen.
  12. Aw, that's lovely (but i might add a little bit saying i don't even mind when you hog the duvet, make me sleep in an eighth of my bed and sneeze in my face on purpose cos I love you that much )
  13. That made me laff Especially the bit about being watched from 3 inches away while you're sleeping cos my collie x used to do that in the morning. It was as if he was willing me to wake up
  14. Oh bless her, she looks adorable Look forward to hearing progress reports on her. When will she be be going up for rehoming do you think?

    Unwanted

Does that really say loss of interest?!?!?! Barstewards
  16. That was one of the points I was getting at but I'm not too good at wording things hence the reason I mainly lurk The price tags on these puppies is so high that I also worry more "average joe" type people will also have a go at breeding "designer" dogs with not very sensible mixes. I have seen pug x chi puppies advertised at £750 for males and £900 for females. Which leads me to think they are kind of encouraging/expecting people to breed from the females There are so many chi x puppies being advertised recently which I think is directly due to some of the celebrity owners making them "desirable" (not that I can understand why anyone would want to copy someone like Paris Hilton but there you go). I just don't want to see more of this type of thing....and it didn't help that it was mentioned how Uma thurman and Sylvester Stallone are fans of puggles this morning. Some people just copy their favourite celebs not considering long term whether its sensible.
  17. That finger is truly gross I think the worse thing I've actually seen in real life is a bum cheek impaled by a steel stiletto heel We were away from my best mates 30th and a bit on the tipsy side. Being a bit naughty we were jumping from one bed to another and she fell down between the beds right onto the heel which was sticking right up She actually impaled herself on it and I had to remove it before taking her to get her cheek fixed up It really was an awful mess and she couldn't sit down properly for weeks. She might let me take a picture of the scar if I ask nicely.....
  18. My concern with this (and it's a point the DT lady raised) is that because they are now "trendy" that people will get them because they see them as a fashion accessory without really considering the real issues involved with owing a dog. Like the fact that you need to get up and take them out in all weather, vets trips can cost a fair amount, dogs don't like to be left alone for 10 hours a day and you need to arrange someone to care for them when you go on holiday etc. I can see people wanting to get in on the action (£1500 per puppy would be tempting to many people) that really have no clue what they are doing. Causing behavioural/health issues and possibly a whole load of "designer breeds" being dumped on already over stretched rescues because they can't sell the pups or because an adult dog is no longer wanted because the owners didn't really think it through before buying a dog. Although I would never buy a puppy from a breeder, if the breeder knows what they are doing and doing it properly I don't really have an issue with it. What I do have an issue with is dogs being treated as fashion accessories when other people who give a damn will have to try and pick up the pieces and clear the mess when the trend shifts to owning some other type of dog or pet.
  19. Sending lots of healing thoughts for Sam
  20. Just saw them doing a piece on "designer" breeds such as the labradoodle - they will be talking more about it shortly. The guy did mention that the Dogs Trust are concerned about the growing trend and say these dogs are mongrels......and there are plenty of crossbreeds looking for homes already.

  23. I have just been looking into pet insurance and was wondering why you seemingly can't insure a Sharpei? The only other listed breed on this particular site was pitbull (and wolf hybrid was also listed). They did also say dogs covered by the DDA and subsequent amendments. But Sharpei's arent covered by the DDA are they? Are they known for having huge amounts of health issues? And while I'm asking what would happen if you had a "type" dog that was registered, would you not be able to have insurance? It doesn't really have any relevance to me as I was getting quotes for kittens but it made me wonder...........
  24. Remus used to sneeze back if you "achood" at him too
  25. Ooh, I watch this so will keep fingers crossed tonight for Last Chance
