  1. Clare Loki always looks soooooo keen and to be enjoying himself and your piccies are fab. Angel155 the painting is beautiful Cheeky Saracen, hope they settle down together and you can catch Blue. New foal is adorable as is mum Was riding Boysie for both lessons this week, yesterday he was being a real monkey and spooking at new jumps in the school and refusing to walk past them, did settle down and we were jumping a little x pole. Today jumping the x pole again and also did part of lesson without stirrups, oh my god, there are bits aching that I forgot could ache. There are a couple of new horses at the yard and im riding a grey called Magic in Wednesdays lesson so looking forward to that. Poor Trooper is still poorly and on Bute, have a feeling I wont be riding him again
  2. Ohhhhhhhh arent the little ones sooooooo cute
  3. Hope you got on ok today Clare, jump looks scarily large, logs or not Glad Milo is more like his normal self and he stops being a monkey in the field. Gooster im guessing all horses would prefer grazing to a show. Rode Boysie yesterday (are you seeing a pattern), he was a very good boy and we were working on our bends, doing figures of 8 in canter. Today Boysie again, canter poles at different places in the school with a teeny tiny raised pole to jump At the end we jumped a small ditch (I did it 4 times) first time I was sitting like a passenger so was left behind a bit as he jumped but the other 3 were better Think im ready for Badminton now
  4. Cream carpets here too and love my Miele Cat & Dog.
  5. Are you not young Funny a girl we ride with sometimes has one too and we were keeping her going about it as shes nearly 40 Brilliant news about trailer
  6. Here just wondering what hats you all wear? I have a Charles Owen atm though its taken a couple of little knocks and thought I might be better replacing it, like the look of the JTE Sprint Extreme.
  7. Looks great and very chilled dogs too
  8. Clare I’d have a face if we had jumped too Looking good in the test im amazed how you remember it all, think I’d go to pieces and mess up. Hope Milo has settled and can stay outdoors. Gooster trailer looks real smart, fingers crossed its yours soon
  9. Poor Trooper is lame and on Bute so no riding him for a while though he was happily grazing in one of the fields next to the school today Yesterday rode Boysie, there was a Pony Club test on so quite a few horses passed by along the school which made Boysie a tad unsettled, then thought he could just tank off when I asked for canter He is so strong on the forehand but I need to sit deep with plenty of leg and not let him pull me forward and unbalanced. Instructor said he can work in a nice outline, just needs a little encouraging. As it was so warm and dusty we finished off with a hack and plod through the water jump. Today on Boysie again, thankfully more settled, did trot and canter poles and a little bit of jumping up and down the mound. Awwww poor Milo, hope the chiro man can make him feel more comfortable, great piccie of him, looks a big jump Good luck for the dressage tomorrow Clare, im sure you’ll do great. Hope Blue and Lokis legs are ok now. Jeanne walk to canter is good, better when you want it and not just the horse Shetlands are such little characters, saw a couple were taken from Toome Horse Fair and are now happy at Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary
  10. Jeanne, light seat is as gooster explained, also helps balance. Good lessons just leave you on a high, good boy Blue and glad you enjoyed your dressage morning. Glad vet didn’t find anything serious with Loki, always something to worry about though Lesson on Friday was on Trooper, started off in the school with raised trotting poles then went out to the field and then finished off going in and out of the water jump and hacked back. Was fun. Yesterday I was on Boysie, short hack then flatwork in school. After our lesson we went to watch the local showjumping, large scary jumps and a few falls.
  11. I sky+ it too, looks good.
  12. Awww poor Blue scared of the nasty poles bless him one of the horses at the yard hates blue & white poles and spooks from them CP piccies are fab and Milo looks great, looks half skewbald/half piebald Jeanne what all do you do in your lessons im being a bit of a sissy about jumping again so only flatwork lessons atm which are good. I was on Trooper again on Saturday (my favourite) we were doing 20m circles in canter in light seat, canter poles in light seat amongst other things. T’was fun

Ohhhh shes gorgeous  Glad you enjoyed yourself. I natter away in the horse thread though dont have a horse of my own (someday maybe)
  14. Awwww gorgeous Always thought they were bigger though
  15. Now that sounds like fun (but a bit scary too) and glad Milo was such a good boy and you both enjoyed it
  16. Good luck for tomorrow and Milo be a good boy for your mum
  17. Pegasus Clare piccies look great and Loki sounds like a lot of fun atm Gooster glad your kneecaps are still in one piece and well done Blue, every little bit is an achievement and you are a very handsome boy Awww hope Wanda can stay calm whilst indoors Had lessons last Friday and Saturday, then had hack on Sunday at different yard. Lovely weather for it too. Had another lesson on Wednesday, was on Trooper , we were cantering 20m circles and doing canter poles and having another lesson tomorrow

    Long Shot!

Glad you found it and hope your mum loves it.
  20. Gooster Trooper is a real gent so felt confident riding him without stirrups, maybe not so on others Isnt it great having a good lesson, don’t you just come away on a high and brilliant news about your boots, im sure you cant wait to get them shortened. Bad news about your trailer, would they not let you have it now and they can wait for new one, hope their horse was ok after doing all that damage Clare I think if someone could guarantee the horse would jump over it exactly as it should I would give it a go but I have awful thoughts in the back of my head of horse stopping and me tipping off or running out, silly I know but maybe some day Loki and you both look fab in the pics and he always looks so clean, do you spend hours grooming him and keeping him tidy?

    Noo Chooks

Ha typical westie, think my westie madam would be the same though Alfie scottie would be awful, just wouldnt trust him one bit. Look forward to hearing your chook updates
  22. Ohhh I think I would be a bag of nerves but from what ive seen from your videos im sure you and Loki will do great Cantering without stirrups was good, I did a bit of rising trot before sitting so transition was ok. Trooper is well into his teens so knows what hes at On Boysie again today, he is lovely too though young in comparison (instructor said she thinks 5 or 6), he came to the yard a couple of years ago and from what ive heard was a bit of a hooligan so has come on a lot Different instructor today who had us going up and down off a XC mound which was fine, I said no to jumping a small ditch as I just don’t want to jump/don’t have confidence and Boysie is apparently a bit green so for either of us I didn’t think it was a good idea. Am I being a chicken not jumping? I just feel safer with horses 4 feet on the ground Hmmm SJ certainly sounds interesting for you and Loki, cant wait to see piccies.

    Noo Chooks

They are lovely and well done you for rescuing them Do you have dogs and what do they make of them?
  24. Clare the MH chaps I ordered are leather across the laces so ive sent them back as they just wont fit over boots. Yours look like they would stretch no problem. Wore old ones today for lesson until I get to saddlery. Boots are very comfy so happy with them. CP hectic weeks ahead, cant wait to hear how you get on, all sounds very exciting Awww poor Blue, hope he realises stepping in water is nothing to worry about Hope the wee girl is ok, sounds awful. Clare why are you feeling sick, will you be doing SJ/XC and Dressage Ride High sounds a wonderful charity and superb for the kids. Lesson today was on Super Duper Trooper, cantering with no stirrups (not the whole lesson thankfully). He was working on the bit and it felt fabbbbbbbbb Think im on Boysie tomorrow.
