  2. I agree that people should do as they please as long as everyone is consenting and noone is being deceived. Personally I'd struggle to rack up any kind of list since there are very few people I actually fancy enough to sleep with them. Going home with someone I barely know isn't something I can really comprehend either. I've never done that and I can't say I'm into the idea at all - it's just not for me.

  5. Even though Mona has lived with us for 3 years I do think she has ever had a gotcha day, cos every year we get the date wrong and miss it Well we missed it again. It was 22nd May (I thought it was June). I don't think it is fair she has never had one so please wish her a Happy Gotcha Day Found stray in Spain Doing time (6 months) When she arrived she was very gobby and couldn't sit still. She peed a map of the Florida Everglades on our lounge carpet and stripped off our wallpaper. She mostly looked like this She is quite different now and I'd even call her a good girl these days. In Dad's sleeping bag Being generally cheeky I've got 50 million photos but had best stop there.
  6. I will be writing to this person I think. As a fundraising manager I think he may take notice if people point out that this fundraising activity is hindering other charities who work hard to deal with the consequences of greyhound racing. Mind you we had a local hospice fundraising at the dog track and they really were not interested hearing about it - they just wanted the money for themselves full stop - sod the charities stuck dealing with the dogs when they are surplus to requirements
  7. Well we have actually been tracked down by a close relative Rory has a half brother and is one of only 30 pups sired by the same dog, which makes a pleasant change. They have the same pointy ears, white paws, white blaze on chest and funny posable schnozz He only lives about half an hour away.
  8. And he moaned cos the greyhound march held him up in his car.
  9. Erm no that is my class, now get out Seriously I don't even think about it. If the definition is given according to what your fathers occupation then I will be working class.
  10. Oh had you already said that? Sorry I was in a hurry to go out and didn't read all of the replies before I posted.
  11. Environmental reasons for becoming a vegetarian Animals fed on grain, and also those which rely on grazing, need far more water than grain crops. According to the USDA, growing the crops necessary to feed farmed animals requires nearly half of the United States' water supply and 80% of its agricultural land. Additionally, animals raised for food in the U.S. consume 90% of the soy crop, 80% of the corn crop, and a total of 70% of its grain. In tracking food animal production from the feed trough to the dinner table, the inefficiencies of meat, milk and egg production range from 4:1 energy input to protein output ratio up to 54:1. The result is that producing animal based food is typically much less efficient than the harvesting of grains, vegetables, legumes, seeds and fruits. I know those figures are USA sorry. I did have the UK equivalent but I can't find them. Basically I think it takes 8 x as much grain to feed beef cattle than we would need to eat ourselves in order to consume the same amount of protein. So if we ate the grain instead of the cattle we could feed 8x more people.
  12. I think he chose this week to resign so that we may be less hated as a nation and perhaps score some Eurovision points
  13. Know what you mean. I used to find it really exciting whenever I found a dog that was related in anyway, until I realised that almost every greyhound was related to one mine in some way for sad reasons that you have already explained. I still keep a look out for littermates because I'd like to know if they survived or not.
  14. Distant relative to our Rory via Linda's champion I think.

  18. Well said Billy I could write so much about this but my bath is going cold, and I can't put it into words (been here 10 mins trying)
  19. I was going to say, hunt sabbing doesn't have to involve violence or threats does it? I've seen on telly that people try to distract the dogs from the scent of the fox by spraying a different scent on the ground. I guess that is what you are describing Kazz?
  20. I think the fact that hardly anyone likes the raisin and coffee revels is a talking point, as proven here. Even though hardly anyone likes them, they keep them in cos it makes people talk about/think about Revels.
  21. Would Noah perhaps enjoy that more if he were allowed to wear a boy scouts outfit?
  22. I woke up this morning and suddenly realised that I had missed Milly's birthday She was 9 on the 18th April. Happy Birthday Milly Big Ears She is such a good girl She was returned to the dog home when her owners had a baby Their loss was our gain :P Milly does lots of good work for greyhounds. She fundraises at meet and greets/stalls and she also raises awareness of the plight of greyhounds, appearing in several newspapers and also on BBC News 24. I am very proud of her Hobnobbing at HWAR show Posing in a posh fashion Torture and humiliation Fabulous portrait of Milly done by Wendy (Moo and Boo) Relaxing today after her breakfast
  23. Whilst on holiday recently, I spent the last night in the bar with a family who had a lab bitch just coming into season. They had a poodle lined up to play 'Daddy'. They thought their dog would be upset if it didn't have any pups. they wanted a labradoodle and they wanted their bitch to be the mother because they would know where the pup had come from. I bit my lip most of the night, did mention it could be awkward if pups were sold to the wrong people, returned to them if no longer wanted, bitch got pyrometra etc... At the end of the night I suggested if they wanted to avoid all the hassle, worry and risks of having a litter they could contact the assistance charities because I'm sure one of them (can't remember which) does use labradoodles. Anyway that was just a long winded way of saying I don't think that the scenario you describe is acceptable but I'm not suprised that it does happen
