  1. Ok after a bit of TLC steroids aromatherapy in lots of oily massages Nuggetts skin is much improved. He goes to the vets on Friday to make him Nuggettless Quite good as I am 'assisting' at the vets so will be with him during his op and for his recovery and then all being well straight home Everyone keep paws crossed. Cindy I will mail you with a bit more info for his new home. Jules
  2. Hello Bouncer...he looks a very hansome chappy.
  3. Thinking of you all at the moment, I have lit a candle and am wishing Rosie a peaceful journey. What wonderful pictures. I am so glad she has had you when she needed it most.
  4. Nuggett is doing much better and alot less itchy He was suffering with SA but this seems to have calmed alot in the last couple of days and the neighbours have not heard a thing while I have been out and the house is still in one piece, so I think it just came with the 'upset' of the move, bless him think he was quite enjoying all the fuss and hated us to leave, so we have ignored him more and this has helped him gain more confidence. He loves his walks (although keep them short as his back legs need to loosen up and get a bit stronger as he doesn't appear to have been exercised for a while) he loves to smell the smells n chase tennis balls, doesn't pull on the lead and the perfect gentleman. Sadly he fliches if you move too fast near his head, but I have worked on counterconditioning this reaction, by raising my hand while feeding him warm roast beef Strangley enough he is learning that arms flying about ALWAYS is a cue for something yummy!!! Working a treat He really will make a wonderful friend for a special person
  5. for Himself, let us know what happens.
  6. Another candle lit for tomorrow and another glass raised. I think our oldies are having a 'camp' of their own up there over the bridge this week, all the hot dogs and friends they could ever wish for. Running free, and young again. Safe and speedy journey Rosie, to all the people that have had a chance to love her.
  7. So so sorry. Glasses raised and candle lit, be free, be young and always loved Sally. to all who loved her. Jules
  8. Nuggett doing all the things he loves best, sleeping, looking handsome and tennis balls!! Sorry just working out how to do the pics, finally got it working in the next post i think!!!
  9. Ok well Nuggys liver fuction tests have come back all normal so he can go for his 'little op' when he has finished his steroids in about 10 days time
  10. Nuggy has been to the vets. He is on anti biotics for his skin as well as steroids. He has eye drops for infection, and piriton for his skin....he has a bit of back leg stiffness (not that you would know if you saw him chasing tennis balls!) He also has a cataracts in both eyes The vet is also just doing some liver function tests to make sure he will be able to cope with his castration. He was a big brave boy having his jabs and his blood work done. He really is a great boy and think he would fit in nicely anywhere He just deserves someone to put him first fo a change, as I don't think anyone has done that in a long time Will try and get some more pics up later.
  11. I am so very sorry. Take the time to grieve for your special boy, no words can help. I wish they could. The pics you have posted along with such lovely words show the love that you shared. Take care.
  12. Well done to you Phoenix , I have a very tricky dog and it is sooo important for us to stay 'below threshold' and know when to call it a day Really hard when you desperatly want them to have a good time (esp if I am having fun too!!) Anyway just wanted to say good on you for listening to your lad and putting him first
  13. I think he has a flea allergy, sure the vet will be able to give him something to make him feel better, at the moment he whines every time he nibbles at them, so playing lots of tennis ball games to distract him He has however got a bark like a pit bull/rottie!!! He is sooooo loud, couldn't believe it came out of him!!! Jules
  14. I am using AOL to support pics..not sure why two worked and the others didn't??? I am not very good on techy stuff..but hey doggie stuff I can do...and Nuggy is a grand lad....been snuggled on a pillow all evening. So sad he came with one toy which he loves but when he found the doggie toy box it was all his christmas' rolled into one!! Bless him on further investigation he is covered in whelts by his bum n tum....trip to the vets Mon morning then!! Cindy next time give me one that doesn't do the big brown eye/doggie kisses/rub belly/tail waggy boy...give em to me all mean n nasty, that way I won't feel the need to lie on the floor giving snuggles all night
  15. Not sure why these won't load up sorry!!!
  16. The lovely Nugget has arrived safe n sound. Thankyou to all the transporters, what great folks they are Nugget is covered in sores down his back, is a little stiff, but seems totally chilled out. He has gooky eyes and fleas, but other than that totally adorable. Just happened to have braught a few extra house guests with him He has enjoyed a game of tennis balls in the paddling pool, loves the kids and very polite with my dogs. Could anyone tell me how to put photos on please, as I am sure Nugetty noo noo (he likes being called that honest!!! ) will enjoy some of our BBQ later and I will get some pics. Jules

  20. Hi there, I have just passed as a fosterer and thought this sounded a good laugh....ok brace yourselves we have... 4 dogs (make that 5 if I have a foster in) 2 adults 3 kids folding camper n awning!! lots of gin
  21. Ahh can imagine you were a bit disappointed...what these doglets put us through!! Biccies at the ready, the lady sounded really nice on the phone Hope you get your foster soon Nikki, do you have your own dogs?
  22. Hi all I have my home check on Saturday and IF I pass I am very much looking forward to gtting involved in fostering. How many fosterers are out there? What do you find is the average length of a foster 'stay', I know that is a hard one to answer as I have done this before and anything can happen!! I was also wondering, I have a holiday booked for ten days in April, one of my only holidays where doggies can't come (Florida is a bit tricky!) Do you think I would have to wait until after my hols if I were to pass or do other foster carers 'step in' to oldie sit!! Just wondering Is there a waiting list for these guys and are fosterers snapped up very quickly...so many questions Anyway looking forward to helping out. Jules
