  1. Sorry didn't mean to post it three times don't know what happened!!! Donna
  2. Billy Bob my lovely little sponsor doggie would like to say a big thank you to the lovely person who donated some money for us to buy him some treats. As Billy loves sharing with the other dogs in our house I hope it is ok to get them a little treat. This will hopefully cheer Billy up as he has been a little unwell recently and when he has had his next bath and clip I will be posting an update on him and some newer pictures of him. Thanks again. Billy Bob and Donna xxx
  3. Thank you all and good luck for tomorrow. It gave me such a buzz to help in a small way knowing that Bella is now save and in a lovely Foster home and yes I think I have the bug now!
  4. Today I had the pleasure of doing my first transport run for the Oldies Club. I picked up the dear little Bella from Rayleigh and took her to meet her foster Mum at Ipswich. She was a delight and I was so tempted to keep her but with 4 dogs in the house including Billy our permanent foster we are full! Hopefully this is the start of many transport runs to help needy dogs. Donna
  5. Yes and we are the lucky family that get to keep Billy Bob as a Sponsored Foster Dog We knew when he came to us we would find it hard to part with him so the decision was made for us in a way! And it would not be made possible without the great work that The Oldies do for all the dogs in their care, we have been fostering for two years now and have always had the best help and support available from everyone involved so a big thank you from Billy Bob and Family - 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rabbits and fish. xxx
  6. Same here but would be willing to help anyone in this area with spare time I have. Live in Chelmsford Essex. Donna x
  7. At the moment I am only able to write a little without getting too upset so please be patient. Firstly I am so touched by all of your kind messages which have meant the world to me at this difficult time. It is I who have been lucky and feel priviledged to have looked after Cassie for the last four months, she was so special and there is a big void in my life at the moment without her. Many thanks to everyone at The Oldies Club especially Claire who have been a great support to me and were a shoulder to cry on when I needed. Will add more at a later date but once again a huge thank you to know there are so many caring people out there. Donna and Family xxx
  8. Thank you all so much for your lovely messages I only wish I could reply with better news. Unfortunately Cassie has not made the improvement I hoped and we have a vets appointment tomorrow at 11.20am. She is struggling to stand now and is having to be carried in and out of the garden, also her appetite is not so good and I feel she is slowly giving up. It is very sad for us but whatever happens tomorrow I will be with her all the way and will do what is best for Cassie. Donna
  9. So sorry to hear the sad news - I didnt have the honour of meeting Snatch but heard about him from Cindy on many occasions - he was well loved and will be truly missed. Thinking of you all.
  10. Thank you for your kind words. The reason I am so upset is that Cassie seems to be acting the same as my dear Harvey who went to the bridge last easter. You feel so helpless as you cant do anything to help them get better. Her strength seems to have gone and that sparkle in her eyes.
  11. Please send healing thoughts for Our Dear Foster Cassie as I feel each day she appears to be struggling more and more. She had a little tumble in the garden on tuesday and is not improving. We took her to the Vets who said to rest her and double dose her Metacam which we have done but this morning she didnt even want her breakfast and just looks so fed up! The saddest thing is we are going away on Saturday and have found a lovely couple who are going to look after her for us with maybe a permanent home but not sure if it is fair to either her or them at moment. Just so upset Donna
  12. Dear Cindy, We have only been fosterers for just a year but in that time you have always been there for us with help and advice and we will miss you greatly but please put yourself first now and enjoy a well deserved rest. Hopefully it will not be long before you are back. Take car love Donna and Family xxx
  13. Glad you all agree that she is a beauty. We had a few hiccups in the beginning but these have now been sorted and hopefully we can find her the loving home she deserves. I agree that she doesnt look her age and our Vets state her overall health is excellent for an Oldie. Thank you for your help in displaying the much awaited photos. Donna xxx
  14. Did email them to joshnbecks to put on for me but she may not have received them. Will try sending them to you Fiona if that is ok. They are not as good as i would have liked as it is hard because she is so dark and wanted to follow me bless her. Donna x
  15. Hi Guys sorry but do not know how to add pictures could someone help!!! Donna x
  16. We have had our new foster Cassie for just over a week now and she has certainly come out of her shell. She is a 14yr old lab x who loves going for short walks and food! She has really settled into our routine and has been given a clean bill of health by our vets so when we get time to post some pictures you can all see how sweet she is. Donna and Family - Chelmsford.
  17. I can't believe that a year has passed so quickly since my Dear Harvey had to leave us. You may remember him as Wishbone from Lizzies Barn. I kept looking at his picture on the Oldies site and just knew we had to have him with us as part of our family. We had a homecheck and luckily he was transported up near to us and I still remember how lost he looked when we got him. After a lovely bath and vet check he thrived and enjoyed being spoilt with our two other dogs. Unfortunately the time came to say goodbye and we wish we could have had longer but two years was a bonus. Because of the love the Oldies give you we now foster and are really enjoying it and feel the dogs we have had have helped us get over losing Harvey. Thank You Oldies Club for all the terrific work you do. Donna and Family
  18. What a lovely idea it has helped make a sad day somewhat special as it was this time last year that we had to say goodbye to Dear Harvey - formely Wishbone from Lizzies Barn. He was our first Oldie and we had two wonderful years with him and through that we now foster for The Oldies in his memory bless him. Donna x
  19. How is it possible to be so sad that both my foster dogs have gone but so happy that they have gone to such lovely homes? Everthing happened so quickly and my two little dogs miss them as well but I suppose that is the only downfall to fostering! Donna
  20. Dont worry we have no intention of stopping fostering for The Oldies as we picked up a new addition on friday and Naz has been really good with him!!
  21. Hi just a quick update - I am fostering Naz at the moment and he has had some interest but one lady felt he was too big for her and waiting on another. But am nearly there in persuading my hubby to keep him!!! So wish my well. Donna
