  1. That is so sad! RIP Cassie I hope someone comes along for Sheena, now she has lost her friend too
  2. What an absolute k**b, there are some people out there that I would gladly see hung drawn and quartered!! I feel sorry for the new pup too - wonder how long it will be till its no longer wanted and tied to someone's gatepost!!
  3. This will be our first xmas with sally, yoyo and Jasper, and the hamsters! And our first xmas in our own home, and our first being married. It's all so exciting! We rehomed sally and yoyo, who are 8 and 6, and mum and daughter. Don't know much about them, except I believe they were surrendered to kennels because of their owners ill health. They are gorgeous Sally Yoyo Then we rehomed Jasper in November, he is 11, and was in rescue because his owners got divorced and neither could take him. He ended up spending a lot of time living in a car I can't wait to treat them this xmas!!!!
  4. What an absolute idiot (for want of a better word........) I think your little fella is gorgeous!! I know how you feel, my vet (ex-vet) made me cry as we took yoyo in to register and he listed of a huge number of problems with her, and summarised by saying "you wouldn't buy a 6 yr old banger would you? so why do the same with a dog? I'm not sure it wouldn't be better to PTS - or could you return her for a refund?" Well, my OH went absolutely mad, for referring to a dog as a car!! There is no comparison and can't believe a vet of all people would (besides that we do have a 6 yr old banger car, ). We found another vet for a second opinion who wa slovely, said yes, yoyo had problems with her paw, but there was no sign of the arthritis or incontinence to which the previous vet referred. Here she is after a dip in the sea - does she look like a dog who should have been PTS or "taken back for a refund"!!!!!! Some people are just idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That unfortunately, is the way of the world. You know your dog is fantastic, as does every other genuine dog lover (I say genuine rather than someone who thinks her dog is an accessory or commodity!). That's all that matters.
  5. That is heart breaking. They are my favourite all time breed and I would love to take them in - but we're full up in our house at the moment . I hope they find a place soon.
  6. Hiya! I promised I'd put pics of sally and yoyo wearing their towelling coats from TRPD Yoyo Sally They stayed on and everything. Thank you
  7. Hiya! My dog coats arrived and they are fantastic!! The twoelling ones fit perfectly and are just right for my water mad springers. The lovely fleece coat for my mums elderly collie has done the trick too and she no longer shakes while out walking. Thank you so much!!!!
  8. couldn't resist some more piccies..... in the park, Jasper Sally (she is 8) Yoyo I love having 3!!! bed sharing ASt the beach
  9. Hi! I have introduced the rest of my family, so thought I should introduce Jasper too! He is an 11 yr old boy who came to us on Tuesday and already we wouldn't be without Here he is Belly rubs Droopy face Chlling out with Dad Desperately trying to give everyone cuddles And making sure sally and yoyo know they are much loved He really is lovely. I am so glad we decided to take on an oldie
  10. I love "pointy faced dogs" with floppy ears (when I say love, obviosuly I love all dogs, but these have captured me....) like my Springers, and I loooovvvveeee cocker spaniels too. I have to compromise though with our next dogs, as we have 3 springers and my OH is desperate for a basset hound, I think he would even relent and allow us to have 4 dogs if one was a basset hound and he also realy realy really wants a bloodhound, but he may be waiting a while, as I will only have a rescue dog and these don't seem to appear much....... At Discover Dogs, I also fell in love with Newfoundlands, retrievers, irish setters, english setters, beagles, I love staffys too, as that was the first dog we got together, alsations, collies (our family dog is alsation/collie x), rough collies, stems back from my love of Lassie I could go on.....I need to win the lottery obviously!!!!
  11. I will soon have another addition to introduce as our "golden oldie" springer is arriving tomorrow. He is 11, his name is Jasper, and I cannot wait to meet him!! We are long-term fostering him, which basically means he will be a part of our family, and we will love him loads, but vets bills are covered by the rescue, as he is older. I hope he gets on with my two ok, I am sure he will tho
  12. I will be there on Saturday all day, I can't wait!!!!!
  13. have pm'd you, thank you just realised in the pm i said I needed a large fleece, that was before reading this post! What I mean is, the 24" one? Thanks again xxxxx
  14. Please, be as pushy as you like , and believe me it works with me I would like to order two then of the 21" please? How do I pay? Sorry if this is described at some point suring the thread The only problem now is......will I be able to hold off using them till xmas!! Thank you ps - it is a gorgeous model isn't it. I'd pay extra if he came with it pps - the fleece warm coats above (that the lovely dalmation is sporting) - how much are they? (am now thikning of my mum's 14 yr old collie who is suffering hair thinning and is cold)
  15. Hi! I love the towel-coats "for the water babies". I have 2 springers who LOVE the water and as a result, end up soaking..... How do I go about getting them? xx
  16. Hey, I've been a member of facebook for just under a year and have been trying to join all the dog groups I can find. This is the best one tho Facebook is good fun! Between facebook, this forum and a couple of other dog forums, I struggle to get much work done!! It's all about time management and looking busy If anyone wants to befriend me my facebook name is Danielle Benyon-Payne (the only on facebook with my name - I do feel unique ) xx
  17. I would absolutely hate it if the police were armed. My husband is a police officer and I worry about him loads, without adding guns to the equation. They carry guns in america, but there is more gun crime in america......
  18. Told you I couldn't resist posting new piccies Foraging!! Yoyo unimpressed with me after bathtime Cuddles from Dad And some more..... Play wiv me Dad!!! Learning recall Any room for us.......no?
  19. aah, thank you, that means a lot, as I wanted to do my best by them!! Yoyo has had a lot of medical treatment since we took her on, including a general anasthetic which was hard for her (especially wearing the big collar afterwards), now she is so active, almost like her mother They are booked in to a groomers in 2 weeks, (was the earliest appt I could get would you believe!!) so am looking forward to their dirty fur being cut away and them being all clean (although I will miss their little tufts!) I have sent Fiona lots of pics so she knows they're OK. Problem is, I have the bug badly, and want to help some more little dogs!!
  20. good guess!! We rehomed them from Lizzie's Barn at the end of September, well done you I can't wait to be as crackers as the rest of you my OH thinks I am totally nuts about dogs, he's right of course!!!! I love posting photos of them so watch this space
