I was looking at your avatar and thinking that she looks a bit gorgoeus and beardie-ish!!! Bless your old beardie at The Bridge, my Sorrel is 5 and a half. She acts like a grand old lady and the Queen Mother though! You'd think she was 108!!!

Sorrel travels with a harness attached to a seat belt. In OH's car this is on the back seat and she would much prefer to be without the harness, but is now used to it and can lie across the back seat in the same position as she would without a harness. My car is a 2 seater sporty number, and at first she wasn't keen on being in the front seat, but is getting better. I put a bean bag in the seatwell that is the same height as the seat (I don't care about my street cred, just want my girl to be comfy!), so she can lie down with her chin on it (she is still in her harness). My car is a convertible and she prefers it in the Summer when the lid is down...she doesn't sit up and so doesn't get the wind in her eyes and ears (if she did I'd keep the roof down), but she seems to love the fact she can smell the outdoors as she's moving. Here we are being Thelma and Louise.

Oh, I forgot to say that Kate was also mentioning how stressful the Christmas situation is for dogs, and we need to be aware of that, which again was a good insight that wasn't followed through.

I watched this this morning - at no point in the interview with the mother was it mentioned that the girls didn't know the dogs were in the kitchen when they went in alone (ie, kids unsupervised with dogs) and therefore it was avoidable. The mother was very good at mentioning it was about one specific dog - but did also say that it had shown no history of aggression... What I found particularly interesting was that when Kate Garraway was interviewing Mr Numpty MP she mentioned that her little girl had been bitten by her mum-in-law's westie on Christmas Day and it was therefore not just about big breeds, he seemed to brush over that. He even still mentioned that little dogs can't do much harm, and the old chihuahua argument was trundled out. I thought it was good of Kate to bring up what must have been a bit embarrassing for her, and definitely was to her mum-in-law (she said so) to illustrate a point. It's just a shame Mr MP had his prearranged lines and was not going to deviate from his speech. Even the Mum of the girl injured by her rottie said he was talking rubbish.

I've just watched Melp being interviewed on Sky News and I am shocked. I can't remember when I have seen a more biased and aggresive interviewing style from a news presenter. It would appear that becasue she was a spokesperson for Deed Not Breed he had decided to stick the knife in before she had even had her say...she wasn't allowed to deviate from his very specific and leading questions, and I found his tone appalling. And that isn't just about the fact she is talking about something I agree with...I'd feel like that whatever he was interviewing about. I'm disgusted at the treatment of someone who has given up their time to add to their news reports.
