  1. Clangers? are they easier than dog coats???
  2. I knew it was a mistake to try knitting again after all these years!
  3. He's lovely...but theres a strange thing. I just looked on HWAR's site..and he isn't on it. They must be under the impression he has a home if you get another like him, I'd be very interested...I would like either a pap or a CKCS..both in one dog would be great!
  4. I am developing a stye on my eye never had one before! also seem to be getting a cold sore. Woe is me! anyone got a large brown paper bag spare I can put over my head?
  5. I can thoroughly recommend Santana's Supernatural...played loudly with the bass turned up. I doubt you would hear the atom bomb...but your neighbours might object! Dylan is oblivious to the fireworks. (Nice loud drums)
  6. to all poorly people and dogs... I'm beginning to think that the phrase "bored to death" could really mean it. I swear that if I lived in a high rise rather than a semi detached I'd have jumped out of the window by now.
  7. Happy Gotcha Day Jess lets hope its the first of many.
  8. I think the law states that a work place must be 65degrees within an hour of starting work...or else you must be given special clothing to keep you warm. My hands totally seize up if I get cold (which is why I'm just going to put the heating on to constant!)
  9. I discovered three bushes covered in sloe berries in the field at the back of us. Apart from making gin, which I hate with a passion, is there anything you can do with them?
  10. I'm biased...so I voted for my own! to be honest, even if it wasn't my photo, I still thought it was the best.
  11. I was just hearing on the radio that due to the dire situation of our power stations, if we have a cold winter we are more than likely to have power cuts...hope you wont regret dumping the gas hob!
  12. Oh good..a mouse fan. If I can catch the little beggar who is chewing holes in the bottom of Dylan's food bag, can I box him/her up and send to you?
  13. Claz...thats fantastic! bet you are relieved....(and in a panic!)
  14. Although the official strike is over, some depots are having wildcat strikes. They were saying on the local tv...Leeds is out.

"If his tattoos are hard to read, a couple of tips that pointy people on here gave me were to rub the tattoo with a bit of olive oil, and to shine a torch through from behind the ear, if that's any help " If you shine the torch through his ear..and it comes out the other side...that will confirm your feeling that he's a bit dim! sorry...shouldn't make jokes, I'm sure he's a lovely lad. There is a slight look in his eyes of the lights are on but no ones home though..maybe you should change his name to Tim? nice but dim? (apologies to any Tim's out there!) I hope he soon settles and becomes part of the family, but I wouldn't be too keen to try him with the stairs. When we had our GSD who had hip dysplasia, he could get up stairs without too much trouble but not down again.
  16. Write her a letter. Tell her how she is making you feel, and ask her if she could please explain herself....if she won't or can't, I'd just tell him that sorry, in future he'll have to meet her outside the house and she isn't welcome to stay. I certainly wouldn't be cooking meals for her, I'd just dish up for yourselves and him and if he said "where's hers?" I'd say who?? I don't see anyone else????

We were walking Dylan yesterday around teatime when we say two blokes with a rather pretty GSD bitch. She was pulling on her lead a bit, trying to sniff things, and he kept yanking the lead then hitting her with the end of it, and she really cowered away. We stood and glared at them..but as they got closer I could see they were either drunk/drugged or both, and not the sort you'd care to start an argument with. We didn't say anything....and I've been berating myself ever since and worrying about that poor dog. Thank goodness people reported this man and were brave enough to make statements, but I agree an ASBO isn't going to do much good.
  18. The french plait looks good...but are you supposed to cut your clients head off?
  19. After seeing the girl on tv with her mum....and hearing that she has the mental age of about 18 months...I think its the only reasonable thing to do and her mother is absolutely right. All the people bleating on about her human rights don't have to care for her 24/7.
  20. Oh Claire! last Monday??!! what the hell were they thinking? of all the inconsiderate, useless idiots! what a shame you can't sue them. Or maybe you could...for emotional distress, loss of money etc. Its amazing what you can sue people for these days.....
  21. I'm freezing and trying not to put the heating on yet but my hands are going blue. Wonder if Claire and Gary are having any luck with the house situation? for all the poorly/swollen/snuffly people. Hideous dog that..you should put a bag over his head to save people from the sight
  22. I think you do an amazing job Coryn, but the sad fact is that there are just too many dogs and not enough homes, and as with people looking to adopt a child, the pretty ones will usually get chosen first. I'm another who isn't keen on the bullbreeds..their looks just don't appeal although they do have lovely smiles.....and although I would like another dog to keep our lurcher company I would never choose one of them for the simple reason that Dylan hates them with a passion! I don't know if he had a bad experience with one in his past or what, but he can't see one without getting very aggy about it. If we didn't have a dog at all, I would take one like the poor lad with the acid burns, to prove to him that not all humans are so cruel. I really don't know how you can keep on doing what you do, you have my whole hearted admiration and the thanks of all the dogs you have saved and helped to find new homes.
  23. Oh Claire, I'm so sorry! its about time England did the same as Scotland...once you've had an offer accepted thats it, you can't go back on it. I hope something soon gets sorted out for you. ReikiAnge...I've not had counselling, but I did have hynotherapy some years ago, when I was having terrible panic attacks and afraid to be outside on my own. I kept falling over (dodgy operation, not alcohol! ) and it made me lose all confidence. Very nice lady...she did me the world of good.
  24. Claire...a friend of mine had a full hysterectomy about fifteen years ago now...she was 45 at the time, same problems as you have been having. She says she's never regretted having it done, and only wished afterwards that she'd had it done sooner. She did give me rather a surprise by hoicking up her nightie to show me the scar though! especially as she wasn't wearing any undies....
  25. I think I overdid the walking on Monday (up to Lincoln cathedral) and Tuesday (around Leeds). I was awake till gone three last night with my right hip and leg absolutely killing me! I hope thats what it was, cos if my arthritis/fibro has escalated to this amount I'm not going to be a happy bunny Good luck today Claire, try not to wibble too much
