Thinking of you all, and of Rosie, bless her. Keeping everything crossed that the results are good.

Sadie has gone to live in her fab new retirement home in Surrey today. She arrived safely, has been to the park and is currently sniffing her way around the house! Just so pleased we were able to offer her a foster home. Jackie -

I want to help but don't know if there is a co-ordinator covering the notts/leics area? Thanks. Jackie -
Colin the Collie's fosterer is going on holiday from 21-28 October and we desperately need to find him a temporary foster home for that week. The problem we have is that Colin has kennel cough (very mild, he was checked by the vet last night, his chest is clear and his temperature is normal). Is there anyone who doesn't have a dog, and who lives in the Nottinghamshire area who can help us please? Colin is a 10-12 year old collie, who is a very sprightly and friendly little chap. Thanks very much. Jackie

Hi Lisa, so sorry to hear about the sad loss of Sky. I can only tell you how I deal with it when we lose a dog, and a lot of people would perhaps disagree. The only way I can cope is to get another dog as soon as possible after losing one. It's not to replace that dog, but to ease the hurt and the pain and to give another dog a chance of happiness. My reasoning is, why is it right to feel so bad and full of pain, when a dog somewhere needs me? Of course I wouldn't go out and get a puppy the next day or something, but all the dogs we get are rescue ones, and usually older too. It doesn't make the pain disappear, but I always think that if my dog who died could talk to me now, they would want me to help another poor soul. This probably sounds like a load of rubbish, but it's the only way I cope without going into depression each time we lose a dog. Everyone is different though, so you have to do what you feel is right for you and your family. Good luck, and best wishes in whatever you decide. Jackie
