  1. Enjoy your chook Jazz Sounds like heaven to me too Alex , would be perfect for my donkey/ alpaca dream. Started of wet and chilly here but just been round the field with the duggy's and it's quite warm now, I'm keeping the stove going though, Daisy's enjoying toasting her girly bits too much to allow it to go out
  2. I'd guess his mounting is just play, unfortunately although he's obviously a lovely boy he doesn't seem to know how to play appropriately and your other dog telling him off is just making him more determined to try and make friends with her. I've never had a humper so don't know what would or wouldn't work, I can only suggest interrupting the behaviour and re-directing him onto a toy. Try mailing either Purple Mog or Khanu I think they are both trainers.
  3. I wonder if Fife Rottweiler Rescue could help, there's always the chance of a transport run
  4. There's always the possibility someone else will be exercising the puppy for him it's really the only way he could manage such a sparky type of terrier. How he'll cope with the toilet training etc is another matter though, he looked to be pretty doddery on his feet. Surprised Lionel Blair didn't give him a bit of advice, I'm sure he has rescue dogs
  5. I've found the best place for Synflex to be E Bay, there's a seller there that does a beef flavour one for dogs.E Bay it is from America but the P&P is reasonable and you usually get it within the week. I get my Corta-vet ( stronger than Corta-flex made by the same people ) from here Vetscriptions, I use the liquid one.
  6. I use Vet Uk, fast delivery once they have your prescription.
  7. Where abouts in the country are you Mese ? if folks know what area your in it'll be easier for them to suggest a suitable rescue place for him.
  8. Hi Mese and welcome . I think if you put this post in Doggie Chat you'd get more help, some folks may not notice it in here . For what it's worth I think your bitch is behaving normally in the face of a young whipersnapper who's invaded her home and is being a bit of a pest, I'd just keep them separate while your not present and interrupt the behaviour when it occurs, it may resolve itself once the foster's settled down, not all mounting is sexual or dominating, he could also be doing it through anxiety and be trying to reassure himself, just give him a bit of time, let him know that sort of carry on isn't acceptable but without making him more worried, quietly stop him and give him something else to do, a tiny bit of training for a few min's can re-direct his brain onto something else. Good luck and well done, he looks a lovely wee scone
  9. I used to do that !, pair of huge scissors and a mirror are all that's required for that diy hair cut, lovely .
  10. It's been known for a while that Glucosamine has a limited effect in people, whether or not it works in dogs though hasn't been shown yet as far as I'm aware, this is interesting though The Lay Scientist . I've used a few different joint supplements now, some have been great ( but not palatable ) some have had little effect, which has led me to believe that it's down to the individual dog and what works for them, as some of the ones I've tried which haven't worked, have had good results in other dogs. Unfortunately it's very difficult to find truly independent research, everyone seems to have something to sell if you look hard enough.
  11. I think it does Kelly, collagen from cows is commonly used. I use Cortaflex too, it's worked so well on Ben I've been able to half his Tramadol . The link you've provided does look good, the only thing that troubles me is that it doesn't say how much Glucosamine is in it, which is important, not enough and it won't be effective.
  12. Will I watch True Blood again.....course I bloody well will.

  13. I started off with really teeny bits of treat, so tiny that even nudging against the bottle would make the treats fall out, although Spud never cottoned on, but he is spectacularly fick
  14. Harsh words Mrs Bejo ! I don't think series 4 is going to be anything like the book , they seem to get further and further away from the books as it goes along, which is a shame as book four was the best one I think.

    Dog Beds

I have an outdoor bean bag for Spud upstairs which is hose-able and rather funky in bright red, being filled with polystyrene it's also very warm and insulating and molds to the dogs shape. I also have a Danish Design Lounger which has been in use for 10 years now , it is completely water-proof, wipable , but the whole cover also comes off for washing, it's been through incontinent dogs, lots and lots of puppies, and is still in good nick, I put another duvet in it in the winter, Louie used to like it over other beds as although it's well padded it was easy for him to get up from. I'd like to get one of these, Orvis, but look at the price !!!
  16. Why can't Bendolina just be a normal, in the middle kind of guy, he's gone from being anorexic to a "who ate all the pie's" . It's Brandon Flowers day on Q I possibly can't be arsed to go to the dog's day thing in Perth this Saturday . Ben fancies the Bernese who lives along the road from us, well I ain't tellin' the PB type he was chatting up last week .
  17. Not only are we paying for the pigging Pope's holiday, it's on the telly aaaaall morning, and it's a nice day up here, I was hoping for howling winds and horizontal rain
  18. I think Kelly might be right Billy, thats how it sounds to me too Have you tried the plastic bottle thing ? those are pretty good, although Daisy worked out that she can lie in her igloo, hold the bottle upside down by the rubber neck and shake it to get the treats out, still takes her a while though.
  19. What a complete git !. If I lived near you Laura I'd come round and turf him out for you . I think you need a cunning plan to get rid of him
  20. Hope those Chalion books are good, I've just ordered the first one.
  21. Yes the urge to slap them is strong but I still enjoyed the books, Fitz was particularly dim when it came to the Fool " he loves you you stupid git !!" honestly . Haven't read and Bujold's books, but off to have a look for them, once I've finished the last David Gemmell book ( again) I'll be bookless which I can't stand, I need to be reading something. Sorry to hear another hozzy visit is on the cards Kelly
  22. Well done I've given up on the next book, I think Mr Martin will have popped his clog's before it's finished I'm also stupidly pleased another Fugee is an Ice and Fire fan Have you read the Robin Hobb books ? you might like those too, not as good as Ice and Fire but a really good read none the less.
  23. Have you read the books ? Dire wolves, incest, murder, Others and a dash of dragon, a very adult and down right nasty take on the fantasy genre, loosely based on the War of the Roses. Ice and Fire
