  1. Me and Megan are going to our first training class at 6pm tonight, wish us luck
  2. Phoebejo, I love Philippa Gregory's Tudor series - I've learnt more about history through them than I ever did at school. I've just finished The Bird of my Loving, by Mary Sheepshanks. It's her own story of how she coped with massive loss and bereavement. I know it doesn't sound very cheerful but it's a lovely, thoughtful book, and definitely a keeper.
  3. Does anyone know who Karen Lawe is on FB?
  4. Suzeanna, how are you getting on with your new tablets? Glad the car passed it's MOT Sue I hope you get yours sorted Michelle, nothing more annoying than mysterious car faults that won't show themselves when you get to the garage Marge, glad you are making progress for your client. You do a really tough job RMF: I slept through the alarm, woke up at 8.30 I shot out of bed like a Harrier Jump Jet, then thought 'Wait there, I work from home and I don't actually need to be up early this morning...'
  5. Heck Barbara, that sounds scary You must have had a guardian angel watching over you today
  6. I'm so sorry you had to let her go Sleep tight Abby, sweet dreams pet.
  7. Oooh, sounds magical What time would you like us all to come round for a visit
  8. Crikey Alex, are you poorly Has B&Q run out of rhodos to plant Sending many good thoughts for Tia Baggins Sleep tight Barney, sweet dreams. Alicia, I'm so sorry about your nephew, I hope the people who did it are caught What horrible news to get after you'd had such a lovely day with the dogs. Well done Louie - what was his best trick Amy? What's occuring today Marge, have you got a new job Apologies for not keeping up very well, RMF moves much faster than my tired brain/hopeless memory can cope with, but I hope everyone is well
  9. About the same as Alex, for me, only with less rhodos I'd like to live somewhere high up, with moors on one side of me and the sea on the other so there was always a breeze for my many animals to enjoy. I'd have an old house with thick walls, geothermal heating and a wood burning stove. It would be all painted white, with many bookshelves and cheery rugs and a big kitchen. And a little porch on the front so I could sit out there at night and look at the stars with my dogs and cats around me. And I would cook and read and wear a lot of turquoise.
  10. Hello chaps. I met some lovely greyhounds on the RGT stand at Bramham Horse Trials yesterday We had just got off the minibus so I managed to drag the whole group with me and most of them put some change in the collecting tins and then listened to me banging on about pointy dogs. The people manning the stand were disappointing though, they were making no attempt to draw passers-by over, they seemed to spend the day just sitting there with their arms folded, looking grim. One bloke walked up and put some money in the tin and they didn't even say thanks or acknowledge him. So sad to see such a missed opportunity to show horsey/dog people what great pets pointy dogs make
  11. Love Princess Cherry - 'OK Jack, you do all the work and get wet, and then I steal the prize at the end and claim the glory'
  12. Wise move Suzeanna, enjoy your day in the garden Mags, it's killing me but I think I'm going to see if I can sell the Dolly tickets so I can go camping with my chums. I've just been to a dog training/agility place to drop off a raffle prize for Olive at Oldies, and I have signed me and Megan up for a basic obedience class next week Whuppety Jake just mainly sleeps now and I think she's a bit bored with plodding round on little walks with him so I'll see if she enjoys this. She's about 11 years old and quite a large girl so I think agility would be a bit much for her.
  13. Hot here too Amy, it's 21 degrees already. You're right Murtle, the only two flipping things I wanted to do this year (I live a small life ) and they clash with each other, typical. Glad the job is going well Michelle RMF: I am having a zero tolerance day. First email of the day was Mr Tricky Client asking me why the photographer I sent out didn't adjust his tie knot for him before he took the pic. I am not replying but am sorely tempted to ask why he can't dress himself now that he's a big boy captain of industry.
  14. How can we possibly be nearly half-way through the year I have double booked myself in September - got my Dolly Parton tickets and my camping pass and entry tickets for Blenheim Horse Trials for the same weekend. I can't believe I've done that, I'm so stupid and disorganised
  15. Glad to hear it Julia I did the same as you yesterday, got up and went to do horse things and then somehow didn't manage to get in the shower Michelle, is it your first day at the new job today? Hope it goes well Handsome Spike, gone from us but always in our hearts I've been like a whirling dervish this weekend so have probably missed loads of RMF, hope everyone is OK
  16. G'day Sam Andrea, I hope today is all you want it to be RMF: I have had my first shower in three weeks. My new shower room is all done except the ceiling. I am a very, very happy bunny
  17. I went out for lunch at 11.30 with a friend I haven't met up with for ages. Got back at 5.30pm, dunno what happened to the day
  18. Well you took your time coming back with the news Nige Poppy is gorgeous More photos required, quick as you like
  19. I'm so sorry you had to let him go. That was a very brave but very hard thing to do Sleep tight Boo, sweet dreams pet.
  20. He's so gorgeous. Happy birthday handsome Eddie
  21. Ah, Alicia, I'm so sorry for your troubles. Sounds like your brothers are not exactly being towers of strength, to put it mildly Why do situations like this generally fall to women to cope with Owl, I'm sorry your little chick didn't make it. Sleep tight little one Alex, you did it again - we all knew you would Well done, and enjoy the time off
  22. Jazz, I'm sorry your brother hasn't quite grasped the situation Maybe he just didn't know what to say. He obviously doesn't realise just how much you have had to cope with.
  23. Night night from me too. I need to be up at 5am, so should really get my pjs on and begone.
  24. Owl, you are so funny And caring. Good luck little chick you couldn't be in a better bra Julia, what happened to Adam
  25. Blackmagic, that is one gorgeous garden Alex I am mad jealous of your wisteria. Does it get a lot of sun? Here is Percy Wiseman, I thought you would like to see him: And here's Percy having a visitor And this is a corner of my front garden, with the bluebells, sweet woodruff and one of my nine million geraniums. The yellow shrub you can just see on the right smells fantastic, it's Choisya Sundance - well worth getting if you see one. Sweet woodruff, close up
