  1. Sorry for the delay, Mouse is now rehomed
  2. Mouse is a 2 year old Terrier X Whippet, looking for a forever home. Mouse was fostered here as a puppy for the RSPCA and has been returned through no fault of her own 2 years later. She is a little girl, only around 12kg. Mouse is very shy & nervous of strange people & situations at first but once she is sure of you she is a real sweetie. She likes to play and run. She is good with other dogs and is cat friendly too. She is good off lead once she knows you well and knows basic commands. She loves food so easy to win over. She travels well, is used to a crate, and is an all round lovely little lady. Mouse is looking for a savvy home with people who spend the time & effort in gaining her trust on her terms. She is definitely happy around other dogs so would like a canine companion, and is fine to live with other animals too. Until she is well settled, she must be kept on a secure lead as she will try to bolt if frightened. She is an active youngster, so needs a home with an active person. She will not be rehomed with young children, though she previously lived with them, due to her nervous disposition. Mouse is speyed, chipped & soon to be fully vaccinated. She is in good physical health. All potential adopters will be homechecked. Enquiries to [email protected]
  3. Still no sightings or news on Poppy despite a whole page in local press, a huge poster campaign and a widespread internet appeal. There is a substantial reward for her return, and her mum will travel anywhere to search for, or collect, her.
  4. This dog belongs to a client of ours, she is devastated and desperately seeking answers or news of Poppy. Please please crosspost. Poppy is a small French Bulldog bitch. She is fawn with a black mask and white chest. She is missing a lower front incisor tooth. She is very clingy and and attached to her mum and she must be terrified to be away from home. Poppy was stolen from her own secure garden in Hazelrigg, near Newcastle upon Tyne - the thieves used wire cutters to gain access to a fully enclosed cat run to get her out. They knew what they wanted and may have been planning the theft for some time. Poppy could have been stolen for a quick cash sale, she could turn up anywhere in the UK. Please please keep your eyes & ears open for an adult Frenchie being advertised for sale. Poppy is chipped and there is a reward for her safe return to her family. Anyone with any information can email her mum [email protected] or myself [email protected] or contact us at Westways Vets 0191 2747910.
  5. Hi, Two young adult (1 year old) hairless ratty boys have come to me for rehoming from the same place my boys came from and desperately need a home asap - I am buying my boys a new cage next week so they could be homed with my current Critter 2 cage if necessary, as they are currently in an inappropriate house. I am desperate as I have no room at all at the moment, I already have 14 animals (inc 1 foster dog & 3 foster cats!) in the house before them, and I don't have any spare time to handle them or look after them as they deserve. They are not as well handled as my boys as they are ex-breeding stock but are not nippy or anything so def workable. They need home where they'll be handled daily & looked after properly with good diet & care. I can advise on care & husbandry of hairless rats. I have had them castrated last week and all healed up already. Em
  6. Nico has been returned to us for rehoming as his new owners were unable to cope with him. Nico is an amazing puppy. His focus for his age is phenomenal. He offers sit by himself, knows sit/down/stand and is very keen to work. He will make a fab puppy for anyone looking for a smart pet dog - with lots of energy- or an obedience/agility/working trials dog. He is relaxed and calm around other dogs out on walks, not in their face and actually far more interested in his fosterer on the walk than on romping with the others. He has excellent recall and is very food orientated. He walks really well on lead too. He’s 14 wks old, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped and attending puppy classes, and is crate trained. House training is coming along fine. He is a well socialised and happy, calm little puppy. General feedback from his previous owners while out and about with him was that he was friendly towards all he met. No families with kids under 10 - just minimising the puppy biting possibilities - and we would prefer people who are active and/or into dog sports or prepared to attend classes with him. No full time workers please. So far he is showing quite a bit of interest in cats so I think new owners would have to consider working on distracting him so the novelty wears off, as we are currently doing. Rehoming will be done according to RSPCA terms and conditions which includes a donation fee. A neutering voucher will be given to the new owners - he must be neutered by 12 months of age as part of RSPCA rehoming contract. Please contact me by email if interested - [email protected]
  7. We have NINE puppies looking for experienced forever homes in a few weeks time! Poppy is a beautiful young GSD bitch who is in foster care at the moment with her litter. The puppies are *almost certainly* full GSD (Poppy lived with an entire male shep at the time she would have concieved) but there can be no guarantee. They are being rehomed by / on behalf of the RSPCA Newcastle Branch. The puppies were born in their foster home and are now almost 4 weeks old. There are 7 bitches and 2 dogs, all black & tan in colour. Poppy has a fantastic temperament and great with other dogs and cats. The puppies will be very well socialised. They can be visited in their foster home from 18th April and can be rehomed at 7 or 9 weeks. They are looking for dedicated homes with time to commit to a puppy's ongoing training needs, and preferably with shepherd (or at least large breed) experience. These pups will be rehomed with an RSPCA contract & terms. All prospective homes will be vetted and donation fee of £120 includes microchipping, vaccinations and neutering. All RSPCA puppies must be neutered by 6 months of age. Feel free to forward to anyone who might be interested. Contact me for further info - [email protected]
  8. £5 for Statler & Waldorf - they are baldy so need more snugglehouses!
  9. All Westways cats are neutered, vaccinated & microchipped. [email protected] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tiz (full name Tiramisu!) is a gorgeous all black shorthaired girl. She is 4 years old and was unwanted by her former home. She is petite, pretty and has beautiful green eyes. She is friendly, playful & flirty and getting bored in kennels. Tiramisu is a housecat. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Willie Wonka is a lovely grey & white semi-longhaired boy. He is around 3 years old and was a stray RTA, now well on the road to recovery. He is very sociable, relaxed and friendly, and is looking for an indoor home at least initially. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dusty is a little shorthaired black queen. She is 2 years old and was also hit by a car, suffering a broken jaw in the process. She is not quite ready to leave us but she would love a foster/permanent home to give her all the TLC she needs. She will need an indoor home. She is a little timid but affectionate & friendly when relaxed.
  10. Sasha has been in the care of the RSPCA Newcastle Branch for over 2 years now  and was originally stabbed by her former owner. She is now almost 11 years old and is desperately seeking a nice retirement home. Sasha is sweet, friendly, active & adores people. She gets on with most other dogs, and has so much to give - but why is she still being overlooked?! If interested PM/email me.
  11. Bobby is a 3 year old crossbreed (probably some Beagle in there.. and possibly Rottie?!) who has been returned to the RSPCA Newcastle Branch for rehoming. Bobby is a little nervous at first but is a very loyal and loving boy once he gets to know you. He has lived with other dogs and has the potential to be a wonderful companion in the right child-free home. If interested PM/email me.
  12. George is an 11 month old fawn Great Dane puppy George has a fantastic temperament and is looking for a new forever home, preferably with breed experience. George is vaccinated, neutered and being castrated this week. He is in the care of RSPCA Newcastle Branch. Potential homes will be vetted. PM me if interested.
  13. All in the care of Newcastle RSPCA, and are neutered, vaccinated & chipped - PM me if interested. Buddy is a 2 year old Rottweiler who was a cruelty case. He has come on in leaps and bounds from the very nervous and handshy puppy he was when he arrived. Although still a little nervous at first, once he gets to know you he is very bouncy, friendly and loving and will make a great pet in the right experienced home. Buddy needs to be an only dog and will not be rehomed with children. Molly is a lovely 10 year old GSD/Rottie cross who has been with the RSPCA for over a year awaiting her case going to court. She has been neglected and mistreated in the past but remains friendly, sweet and very affectionate with people. She can be submissive and needs a calm and quiet retirement home without other pets or children. Ben is a 7 year old GSD who has come to the RSPCA because his owner has been permanently hospitalised. He is very young at heart and is friendly, boisterous, energetic and affectionate. He does get on with other dogs out & about but would be better suited to living as an only dog. Bruno is an 8 year old X-GSD who is friendly, affectionate & faithful. Mouse is a female X-GSD who is friendly & affectionate. Although she gets on with other dogs outside, she probably needs to live as an only dog. Prince is only 1 year old, and came in completely emaciated. He is now on the road to recovery and looking for a new home. Despite his bad start in life he is friendly, loving & loyal. He is looking for an experienced home. Ronni is a 2 year old female GSD looking for a home with shepherd experience. She is very friendly and boisterous, and in need of ongoing training. Tom is a 6 year old Rottie X who has had a terrible time so far and is understandably nervous and wary of new people & situations. He has come on leaps and bounds, however, and has the potential to be a great companion for the right experienced home.
  14. Elliot is up to his FDG
  15. Hydro would be good for him, and if he can manage any, short amounts of hill walking too.
  16. Not been here for a while, so... I'm Em, I live in Newcastle with my hubby and our menagerie - 4 dogs & 4 cats, all rescues. I am mum to Alfie of Alfie's Heart fame. I'm a Veterinary Nurse and we (Westways Vets) do small scale rescue, mainly cats but occasionally dogs & small animals. I also work closely with RSPCA Newcastle Branch and Brysons Animal Refuge. I am part of the Tyne Tailwaggers Flyball Team. Em x
  17. Spuggy is an 8 week old female crossbreed puppy. We are unsure of what breeds may be in her, but she certainly has Staffie in there and possibly Lurcher too. Spuggy is currently being fostered by myself and is looking for a new forever home. Spuggy is VERY playful and energetic once settled in. She loves to play with other dogs and toys, and easily gets overexited. She is ok with cats, she will chase them and try to play with them but does back off once swiped at in return (my cats are great at "cat testing" fosters!). We are currently working on puppy mouthing and hassling us at meal times, but she is very quick to learn and is improvng already. She is also learning about sleeping in a crate and is clean in her crate overnight. She is learning pretty quickly with housetraining, though she is at the moment quite nervous of the outdoors (this is due to a traumatic experience before she came to us - she was found terrified beside a busy road at night). Her new home will ideally have someone around most of the time, at least initially, and there must be a commitment to ongoing socialisation & training. She would love to live with another young & active dog, and will require plenty of exercise once she is grown up. Adoption contract will apply - Spuggy must be speyed before her first season (so at 6 months of age), and any prospective home will be homechecked. Spuggy has started her vaccinations, but is currently suffering from kennel cough. If you are interested or know anyone that might be, my email address is [email protected]
  18. Gladys, Buster, Olive and all of Olive's kittens are now reserved.
