  1. Teija is a Mummy's girl Kali is a Daddy's girl and cries and cries when he goes to work then huffs and ignores me for an hour as if its all my fault he has left her
  2. Teija has a range of balls with bells in (yes I know she can't hear them but she can feel the vibrations) which I put in old socks and tie the ends in a knot. A blind dog would be able to hear them but the knot stops them from rolling too far away. I also have soft toys on strong elastic tied to door handles, washing lines etc at her head height which she can pull and try to catch when they hit touch her on the rebound - they also always return to the same place so are easy to relocate once they have stopped bouncing.
  3. As Raiye has already added her one of Teija though I'd share my favs ... Teija when we first met Miss Kali - 'cause it always makes me laff And the beautiful Jessie (now at the bridge)
  4. Living Tree Memorial Jessie went to the bridge in Sept 06 and I have chosen to adopt a tree for her at the HWAR Living Tree Memorial. It raises much needed rescue money and sounds like a place that Jess would have loved. The Living Tree memorial site is a very special place. Set in the beautiful tranquil Herefordshire countryside is a plantation of thousands of Christmas trees, amongst these is the Hereford and Worcester memorial site - 700 Christmas trees kindly donated to us by a supporter. The plantation is a haven for birds, wildlife and natural habitat. Please have a look at her memorial - nothing really helps but maybe it is something that you might like to consider. http://www.hwanimalrescue.org/TreeDetail.aspx?ListingNum=158 By adopting one of our trees not only are you paying a lasting tribute to your pet, you will be providing continued shelter to the forest's inhabitants and raising funds to help our charity continue its work, caring for the many stray and abandoned dogs that come to our rescue each year. http://www.hwanimalrescue.org/tree.aspx?Pa...p;Category=Tree
  5. Coconut oil (the stuff Caribbean's use for cooking) is a natural antiseptic and calmer of itchy skin and won't upset her tum if she licks it off.
  6. Andrex have a lot to answer giving my lot ideas It was a new roll and ... I only went to make a coffee
  7. Ahhhh thank you all so much - Kali is home now, not a happy little bunny at all but safe and well - her tummy scar is so tiny and her eyes were done by cryogenics - freezing to you and me so no stitches and hopefully no itching ... but she still looks as if she's been in a boxing match and lost
  8. My comment: 'Our world is far from perfect but in some cases the ignorance of humans towards animals leaves me speechless - I want to be counted!'
  9. Please spare a thought for our little Kali as she goes in at 7:30am tomorrow morning to be spayed and to have the ingrowing eye lashes removed from both eyes ... I know she will be in good hands but I can't help worrying
  10. Teija was born deaf and blind - don't rememebr any Q's but then from one mad-woman to another who knows LOL
  11. Hows about her life of grime ... Or even ... Or this ... maybe? But Raiye's fav. is this one ...
  12. HAPPY 'GOTCHA' Day my baby-girl ! From a cute baby to a stunning Babe in just one year ... WoW .
  13. Kali is a mechanical chaser from the safety of her garden so if she is outside everything from cars to motobikes, planes to copters all get 'seen off' - when out walking she is not bothered by any of them
  14. Playing with new software - hope you like it A.L.L.I.E
  15. Fab pics - sooo made me smile I think everyone should have BAD dogs like that - life would be so much fun ....
  16. She is boootiful ... as has been said 'words fail me' Well done Raiye and Jane for fetching her and to everyone now involved.
  17. They are fab pics I think it must be a 'blind dog' thing as Teija will change directions in mid-stride and is always catching me out
  18. The Col-ostrich Border Coliie + Ostrich None confrontational (doesn't know anyones there most of the time) – blind to everything but buries its head in not only sand but anything it can dig just in case. Devoted to the gardening industry, is a totally focused, industrious worker that considers no (de)construction job too small (speciality areas – well instillation and ponds). Pre-runner to well-known doggie garden ornament - the stone Digging Dog. The must-have accessory for those considering emigration - a low cost, leisurely, long-term enterprise route planner to the other side of the world
  19. Where abouts are you and when would the show be? I know I'm up-country but my mum lives in Essex so may be able to come along and even 'DO' something as long as it could be organised from a distance ... Ohh and also have mates in Kent.
  20. 'I like this - it really made me laugh' (Bump)
  21. Death is always one of the hardest things anyone has to deal with in life. Today I sent my best friend to the bridge. JP Pup'n'stuff (Jessie-katz) From that tiny pup snuggled in my arms you've melted away my heart But years have slowly past us both and now we have to part Call softly please to Jessie Len I'm entrusting her to you Please fold your arms around her tight and love her as I do She's waited long and patiently to again walk by your side And pined for you and Trigger puss from the moment you both died Play safe my sweet, sweet lady at the edge of Rainbow stream Run free and young and happy with old age a distant dream [Aged 15 yrs] 2nd September 2006
  22. Jimi Hendrix dubbed his Woodstock band Gypsy, Sun and Rainbows and his wife was Lucille How about them for names?
