This is an email from the Kimba Refuge. Warning: Linda is emaciated but still fighting to live. The photos are therefore upsetting so I have put links rather than the images. LINDA http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v60/Gwen...dogs/Linda1.jpg A few days ago Kimba took charge of a poor Pointer who, as you can see in the photos, was a walking skeleton, malnourished, abused, incapable of moving, and the list goes on. We immediately took her to our veterinarian who had to operate on her urgently. We found out that in addittion to the long list of other problems, Linda had also been pregant, and in giving birth she had complications, and some of her puppies died inside of her uterus and they rotted inside of her, so the bones of her unborn offsprings had to be removed from her. It has been very difficult trying to help her recover. Our financial situation is like that of any other animal protectorate in Spain, we are faced with surgical interventions, blood analyses and treatments. But her fortitude will help her to recover, though it will be a problem for her owner. This poor little hunting dog has suffered the unsufferable. These are the breeds who suffer the most in Spain; they are neither pets nor companions to anyone. They are merely tools to be used in Jaén and discarded in Cádiz. But her lord and master has had the misfortune that his tool has an identification chip, and there has been no report filed of her being lost of stolen. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v60/Gwen...dogs/Linda2.jpg Hence, her miserable owner has had a denouncement filed against him, and we are hoping that articles 632.2 and 337 of the penal code, which both the prosecutor's office as well as the government news office boast about to those of us in animal rescue, trying to tell us that the animals in Spain are protected. Let's hope that we don't have similar situation to a previous one from Courtroom number 3 in Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz) where the owners of two abandoned and microchip identified dogs (who had posed to threat to highway safety) were fined 60 euros. And on top of that the judge asked us why we had picked the dogs up off of the roadway. We will publish the outcome of this denouncement and, if we have to, we will do so in the languages of every civilised country. Sighthound Welfare Trust has received this email from Kimba. Inocente Inocente is a beautiful galgo mix, about 3 years old, but with a past that would make any person tremble if they had the least bit of sensitivity. They tried to hang poor "Inocente". He has an old fracture of the tibia with a 40º distal deviation. There are people who do not like animals, who do not want to be next to them, but they let them live in peace. However, there are monsters disguised as humans who are capable of the unimaginable from the time they are very young. They are the future abusers of all living beings, both human and non human. What they did to Inocente forms a part of their formation as a future sadist. Instead of attending school to receive an education, they grow up en masse like savages, even though we live in the 21st century. It's an embarrassment to all the citizens of this country, and we hear more and more news of a more irrational type of abuse all the time. The truth is that the animal protection societies do not know how to put an end to this evil. More and more often we have to take on cases of animals who arrive in lamentable conditions, and we receive no sort of help from the administration. We need to thank a thousand times over all of our members for their membership fees, and all of the donations from our friends abroad. With their help we are able to end the suffering for some of the animals. Those of us who dedicate our time to help ease animal suffering are not even given the water for free for these animals to drink. But those who are dedicated to torture and to bloody perfomances are given subsidies. Tell us that this isn't a disgrace of a country. Kimba is asking that someone please help to find a family for Inocente.
