  1. Hee hee! Maddie does come to work with you but poos on your bosses desk who gives you the sack I wish I was thin
  2. You catch up with the housework, but it takes you 3 years of doing nothing but housework. I wish I could get my dissertation finished and out of the bloomin way!
  3. You have a new suit, but it shrunk in the wash and doesn't fi I wish I was going on holiday soon
  4. Sorry Sully, but I like the pink one on you best
  5. Very sorry Mel Wishing Cisco and safe and happy journey to the bridge
  6. I agree, I do not see how financial investment would be an 'adequate' apology for two reasons, 1. it appears to make slavery okay as long as we pay financially now which trivilialises it somewhat and 2. I do not see why investement now from people who were not responsible for slavery would be an adequate apology? I think the best way for Blair to apologise for slavery is to aid schools and society to integrate people of different backgrounds better, cross cultural divides and educate people of their ignorance and teach children tolerance from an early age.
  7. My head is at what was deemed acceptable in the 50's and 60's as that article states, truely shocked
  8. I grew up in Birmingham and went to a multicultural (read, Asian, and Black with a few white people) school and would have been suspended/beaten up/ashamed to call a black or Asian person a Wog I also am offended by the term 'coloured' it just shows someone's ignorance to me as it harks back to the days of 'us' and 'them'. It's one thing someone being ignorant of what they say, but once they have been educated in it's possible offensive nature to use it again is bordering on racism. I do know this has nothing much to do with the original question
  9. Thank you Mel and Snow
  10. Hi guys, I don't post here, but I know that Pingu and others know lots and lots about finding out anonymous hosters/posters etc and I need your help for my mom. Basically since 2004 someone has set up a blog site about my mom and my step dad making slanderous/libelous comments about their business' (they used to sell second hand cars) that my step dad was a fly tipper (untrue) my mom collects books under the guise of a charity and then sells them for profit (untrue, the trailer was bought by them to collect books after changing the logo on the back, from someone whose photos and old website are included on the blog and assumed to be my mom's) links to their ebay accounts with which they are now selling the last of their cars as they are moving. And accusing my step dad of arson (completely and utterly untrue!!) This person is making my mom's life a misery, we have contacted the police who haven't really seen this sort of thing before so are not sure how to proceed, they took a copy of the site onto a CD and since then my mom hasn't heard anything We have contacted google/blogger who have said they will not remove the blog as it is not libelous apparently as they operate under US law, I can't see this as true as this guy is taking photos of my mom's house telling lies on his site and posting it for the world to see I say guy, but we haven't got a clue who it is, they are anonymous, we don't know how to go about finding out who he is to atleast complain to his ISP or go and confront him tell him the police are involved and make them stop! I think it is someone living opposite who had a run in with them before calling my mom and sister 'dirty Jews' who has a police warning for it. Help!!
  11. i have sufferred from clinical depression, I have been there. I also think that sometimes it is all to easy to point the finger to mental illness when someone acts irresponsible, maybe she really does just need to pull herself together, maybe she needs to be forced to stay in rehab, whatever she needs, I don't think it should be on Sky News top of the hour report
  12. Not getting at you at all, just using your quote, but does anyone else get annoyed that things like this are in the news, to be honest, who cares in a way, she should pull her socks up and be a good mum or give her children to someone who can be a good influence and guardian to them, not adoption, but a nanny, her mother or someone! We all have crap happen in our lives, lots of people have to grow up fast, but she has priorities other than herself and her career and love life now!
  13. Woah, judge lest ye be judged or something like that I personally could never accept a man back after he had an affair, and if I ever had an affair, I don't think I would want to go back into the relationship as there must have been something wrong in order for me to feel the need to do that. For me, sex is more than "just sex" if that makes sense, and I would see it equally as bad as my partner having an emotional bond with someone and not having sex with them. However, just because I feel this way about sex and affairs doesn't give me the right to get stroppy and judgemental about people whose views differ. If we were all the same, life would be very boring.
  14. I agree with this completely.
  15. Ain't that the truth I see what you mean about the day that Christians and non Christians can both celbrate Christmas
  16. No one is saying you shouldn't celebrate Christ's birth Equally no one should be able to tell me whether I can celebrate Christmas or not either I had a wonderful Christmas this year, just seeing people's faces acknowledging the thought I had put into their presents, that's the best part I am not a Christian, and I celebrate Christmas as being a day where everything stops, the shops are closed the roads are clear, so I take my dogs out for a lovely walk without interruption and go and see my family for a relaxing day with the people I love.
  17. I am very proud and thankful that we have the NHS, yes it does need improvement, but it's better than the alternative. I was worried when I visited my grandparents who were both terminally ill, at the amount of staff such as nurses who appeared to really dislike their job and the patients, why do something you hate?
  18. I've just posted this on another forum; <snip> I can't help but feel he was a scape goat who was killed before he spilled a lot of facts about the American administrations for the past 40 odd years I am against the death penalty, (I can't explain it, but) in my soul I think it is wrong <snip> And to do it on Eid too, makes it worse, Britain should have made much, much more of a fuss over the death penalty, why was Milosovich allowed a UN (?) trial etc - he was accused of genocide
  19. Sums my view up. I am opposed to the death penalty so I do not agree with Saddam being excecuted. He should be taken to the Hague (sp??) tried in a UN court and then sent to prison for the rest of his life, and after they have done that I would like to see George Bush snr and his comrades tried for war crimes for helping put him in power Sums my view up. 20. I think uniform's should be adhered to, although some rules seem a little extreme. To send someone home for having dyed hair or funny coloured hair bobbles.....ridiculous, I don't see how that can aid their education, sending them home I think uniform's should be adhered to, although some rules seem a little extreme.
